Was told by our hotel concierge that Navas street has very good tapas for lunch and for cheap. She said, just order drinks and you´ll get good free tapas.
We explored Navas street and I checked Yelp to see which ones were the good ones. Landed here. Was not a bad experience, just wasn´t the best. The server was friendly and cool enough to give us recommendations, but almost everything they served was highly priced, fried or fatty (almost everything came with some type of ham). The only free tapas we got was the plate of boiled potatoes sauteed with red peppers in olive oil. The one dish I wanted was the Revueltos con Esparragos: Spanish scrambled eggs with wild asparagus, and they were out of it. He recommended the Salmorejo, which is this thick creamy cold tomato soup that is mixed with something else to make it taste salty. They added a lot of ham in it as well. I didn´t like it very much and it was 8 Euros. I should have gone for the gazpacho instead. After being in Spain for 2 weeks, the last thing you want is to eat the same ham-based dish. I needed something light. It looked like this place was more known for the drinking, which most people did around us. I saw many other groups at the bar and outside all with drinks and just ordered maybe 1 dish to share and snack on along with their free tapas. read more
