Brother preferred the al pastor over asada but said both were good. I was pleasantly surprised as how much ceviche was given and how fresh it was. Price was decent as well except for the shrimp tacos, essentially $4 per. After reading many reviews I made sure to double check the receipt that I was charged correctly. This is my hometown Taqueria where I can easily get some good Mexican food. But, it seems, this last time I was home the quality has changed. I got a steak burrito that was salty, the meat was not very flavorful and it was a bit pricey. My brother, who lives there, says its not one of his first choices, but when he needs something quick to fulfill his hunger for Mexican food it does the trick. The place is very clean and the staff is friendly so I will still patronize it when I am home. I am hoping this was a one off and they are still committing to authentic taqueria standards. read more

This was my first visit back after the Covid-19 quarantine started and probably my last, at least for food.... 5 stars for their salsas, especially red salsa... they sell it in mason jars and it's delicious. I ordered a carne asada burrito with extra meat, without rice or beans. It was a humongous burrito filled with meat and oil. It was disgusting. As soon as I opened the foil wrap, you could already tell it was bursting with oil. The burrito was slippery. I took a bite and it gushed out with oil, like a Texas oil field. Instant artery clogger. I had to remove the tortilla, because it was drenched in oil. I have to say, this place went from 5 stars to 1 star or negative stars in my honest opinion. How could the management get away with this quality or lack there of... to top it off, it was loud in there. So loud that I could not order without having to yell out my order and have the cashier repeat my order several times until I had to step real close to hear her. Forget about social distancing in there... Where is the owner of the restaurant??? How could YOU let this poor quality of food and service occur?? It was the same staff as always, just a lot less friendly. To top it off, chips are no longer free with your order... they are charging $2 extra. I'm sorry, but if it wasn't for the salsas that you have for sale, you're Mexican restaurant would be just another ordinary Mexican restaurant, not worth my time or effort to drive there. read more

Wow! I'm shocked this place is actually really good. This was my first time trying and I played it safe with a asada burrito expecting the bare minimum but I was surprised. The meat was juicy, flavorful, and tenderish. The guacamole sauce was delicious and the red sauce was the perfect spicy. I recommend this place. 5 stars for an amazing vegan pastor burrito! One of the best I have ever had. So far I have only ordered delivery from here, but the burritos have been consistently stuffed and delicious. The vegan pastor burrito has rice, beans, ample guacamole, pico, and some lettuce. It's usually humongous and always delicious. I'm so thankful that they are local so I can always get a consistently delicious burrito when I am craving them. They also have non vegan options that look good, but I haven't tried any of those. I tried coming here the day after Christmas to dine in but they were closed, so sad, but I really should have called first so it's my fault. Upon arriving at the very small corner shopping center, the parking lot was almost completely full and was the first hint that this was a special place. Even though the line of customers almost went out the door, while most tables were occupied, the line moved swiftly... it was surprisingly fast. We ordered the 2 seafood tostadas special, the 2 sopes combo with chorizo and carne asada, along with and the 4 tacos special with al pastor and carne asada. Stephanie was not only super friendly, but was taking care of just about everything, from taking orders to greeting customers, she really made us feel welcome. What was even more surprising, is how fast we got our orders once we sat down. No more than 10 minutes while we were busy enjoying their complimentary chips and salsa bar. The food was very tasty, but not overdone or too salty, just right. All of the condiments, and veggies were fresh and delicious. Las Comadres has been at this location since 1995 so they must be doing something right. Weekends are the busiest, so if you don't like giant crowds, weekdays might be your thing.
