My husband and I really enjoyed our meals here. He had the 1/2 of a chicken with fried rice and plantains. He said the chicken was very juicy, even the white meat. I had the Arroz Con Mariscos - it was very tasty with plenty of seafood. I enjoyed the vinegar based salad that came with it, as well. I really, really want to give this place a higher rating but the food was just not that great... We got a whole roast chicken with plantains, mixed veggies, and pinto beans. Chicken was tender and was nicely seasoned, but had clearly been roasted a long time ago. Zero crisp to the skin and the meat was a little bit stew-y. Plantains were not caramelized. This non de script strip mall gem is located in the Riverton Commons shopping center. They serve mostly Peruvian cuisine. Now I've never really had any food from Peru.... so I figured I would give it a try. I'll try anything once. I got the half rotisserie chicken with two sides.... Really good pinto beans in a kind of gravy and seasoned rice(Spanish rice). All three were very tasty. They also brought me what I thought was going to be a salsa... but it was actually marinated red onions,red bell pepper and cilantro....it would have been better if not for the heavy handed salt. They have a small selection of beers and I got a Cristal. The bill came to 21.45 w/o tip. Now there's not any ambiance... a couple of pictures of Peru... most of the business seems to be takeout. So the next time I'm in the mood for something different I'll go to "Caverns". read more

Second visit. First one, a couple years ago, yielded a very good takeout meal. Tonight was the opposite. Picked up wings and an order of lomo saltado. Neither was good but the steak was downright inedible! Way overcooked and dried out beef ruined the entree. I won't be making a third order here. read more

The restaurant is in the corner of a shopping center and nothing to speak of from the front. When you walk in it's not a sit down restaurant which I expected for some reason. But the place was highly recommended by friends so we stayed to try the food. We ordered up front. We got a chicken friend rice dish and a half roasted chicken with sides. The food didn't take too long to arrive. Served at the table so that was nice. It was hot and tasted great. I wouldn't say it's the best meal I've ever had but it certainly was great for our after church meal. The church was especially tasty. Enjoyed it very much. We don't live in town so probably won't be back but hopefully others will take advantage! read more

Oh man, it takes a lot for me to come out a give any business a bad review . I knew that from the moment I called this place to order a pick up order, Some rude lady answers the phone & I was appalled on how rude she was talking to a "customer". She even had the nerve telling me to "hurry up" with my order because she was "very busy" as I was just looking at menu to complete my order for my last side. (2 Whole Chickens, 4 sides, 4 can sodas). I contemplated giving them a chance after that phone call, she did not even ask for my name, told me how long it would be ready or told me my total. I saw another place in Winchester as well, but I decided to go with this place since it was closer to me. Absolutely worst mistake, for the amount that they charged, the sides were not portioned correctly. & the food was absolutely the worst Ive had. If anyone out there took the time to ready my review, please take the extra time to go to the place in Winchester because this place will 100% disappoint. This place is amazing! I'm in the area for work for a few months at a time. I've literally been to this place three times this week:) They are quick and friendly, the food is reasonably priced and most importantly the food is wonderful! My go-to is the half chicken with two sides. I've had the yucca, plantains, sweet potato, vegetables and mashed potatoes...all of them are great! I also really like the yellow and green sauce that comes with the food quite a bit. The green sauce has a little hint of spice and it goes really nice with the different dishes. read more

Papa a La Huancaina and Buffalo Wings to start we're both perfect. We had Steak a La pobre, arroz Chaufa beef, Tallarines Saltado con beef and a Philly Cheese Steak, everybody was perfectly pleased. We will certainly be back. We haven't tried the pollo yet! read more

Great chicken. Extra sides over priced at $5 each. Mix 1 container of yellow sauce with a 1/4 container of green...perfection. I stopped here after a long day working outdoors. It was almost closing time,yet the staff welcomed me without any pressure to rush through my meal. It was a clean, well maintained restaurant. As it was late, I kept it light with chicken on a Caesar salad. This was not my first peruvian style chicken and right up at the top with the robust flavors down to the bone. Fantastic place. got the Apollo Saltado (sp). Meal was delicious, flavorful and cooked/seasoned to perfection. I am not even a big onion fan and I ate them all. After trying many other Peruvian chicken places around NoVA and being let down, I was excited for this place to open. It did not disappoint! We got the pollo a la brasa with a side salad and fried rice. Both the aji amarillo and aji verde sauces were delicious, and the chicken was so moist, flavorful and tender. Great portions on the sides - plenty for two people. (If you're feeding a family of four, you might want to think about ordering extra sides. Seems logical to me.) Very friendly, too! Service is terrible. Food was burned . When I expressed my concern I was told there was nothing that could be done. I asked to speak to the owner and I was met with a woman who had a horrible attitude who claimed I was just trying to get a free meal. Are you serious??!! Is this the way to treat customers?
