Stopped by on a road trip and this place was perfect! Admittingly not glamorous or anything special per se, but everyone loved their food. A great price (we're from California) and a great amount of food. The carnitas tacos were incredible, the meat was seasoned perfectly. There was only one server clocked in while we were there but she was attentive and the food came out quickly! We went around 5 pm so it was empty but it was great to sit and have a conversation before we hit the road again. Ambiance- not busy which was just what we wanted. On the road back to Texas from Colorado, me and my husband stopped here to eat, from the start we didn't like the atmosphere our waitress was rude and kinda uptight felt uncomfortable, food was alright, wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again though. Waitress seemed off... we asked if the fajita veggies included fajita and veggies and we were told they were, after we got the meal it was just veggies and we asked about the fajita and she said "veggies don't have meat". I am a sucker for legit Mexican food. Also a sucker for very fancy Mexican food. But this was incredibly delicious. I wasn't super hungry so just got a cheese enchilada and chicken enchilada in their red sauce. So flavorful...curious about the green chili sauce was was blown away by it. We got caught in a wind and rain storm at a campground, so went in search of a restaurant nearby. I read the reviews, so we went to check it out. The food was incredible. Best beef fajitas I've ever had. The seasoning on the meat was delicious. The homemade chips and salsa before the meal were also incredible. The service was so great as well. Very much enjoyed my meal here. The restaurant itself is decorated in a very cowboy sheik way. The dragon fruit margarita was perfect, not too sweet. read more

Portions are way too large. Tacos are bland and enchilada sauce is too spicy. They put too much cilantro in the "shrimp cocktail".

We were passing through and wanted a bite to eat. We got on yelp to find a place. We ended up driving by three locations that were either closed or out of business before finding Las Brisas restaurant (this time I called to make sure they were open). The lady was very nice on the phone and said they were open until 2 PM, that gave us 25 minutes. We showed up & they sat us right away. We each ordered the smothered shredded burrito. Excellent choice! It had a great flavor and just the right amount of green chili. We tried to hurry so we could get out of there before closing and we were about five minutes late. But there was one more table of people when we left, so I didn't feel terrible. The people were great and made us feel welcome, plus the food was excellent. I ordered the tacos. And all I got was meat on a tortilla with no onions or cilantro. I thought that was strange but as all of my family had already received their food and was almost done eating before I even got mine I didn't complain. It took a long time to get the food in general. And after we left both my kids had upset stomachs, diarrhea, and cramps. We were up all night. It was horrible. I don't recommend this place. The food was dry and bland. Not worth it! read more

Food was great! The waitresses rather roll silverware than check on customers. We ran out of drink. We had the buffet and it was very good. The interior was clean. I have eaten here twice. I am not a food snob. The seafood soup was the worst I've had, and I often order it in small Mexican places. The soup had hardly anything that had passed through the ocean and featured large hunks of a substance that had no seafood or fish taste or texture, I could swear it was tofu (which I like but I did not like this) processed to look like lobster. It was spicy and tasty but the veggies were scant so what was there was mostly broth. Yech. I had to go have dinner elsewhere. If you stick with the tacos...I don't know. VERY cheap and decent food on Lamar's cute little Main Street. Three of us ate for a total of $22. The thick tortilla chips are made in-house and perfectly salty. If they considered painting or doing any kind of update to the inside of the restaurant, or offered margaritas or beer... I would give it five stars. read more

The food is great. They have the best rice I've ever had. But the service is really rough. Everyone at my table was out of water for at least 15 minutes. They weren't busy. Our waitress walked past our table twice without so much as looking at us to check. When a customer has to go get a pitcher of water and fill up glasses, there is a problem. Also, every other table in the restaurant was given chips and salsa. We never received ours even after I requested some for a second time. Lamar is 1200 miles from the nearest source of seafood. Ordering seafood soup here is just plain silly and basing the review of the restaurant upon that surpasses silly. Its a Mexican Restaurant! Lets discuss the food that makes it a Mexican restaurant. Starter is the chips and salsa. They are free. They are homemade. Sometimes the salsa is cool, sometimes you will require a fire extinguisher to put it out. That's cause it comes from FRESH jalapenos. Its always good. The chips are fresh and good. Now order your dinner. They have buffet often. The locals like it a lot. I prefer to order off the menu. The green chili here is excellent!!!! Again, sometimes its cool and sometimes you need a fire extinguisher. Again - fresh jalapenos (blame mother nature). The chili rellenos are made from Anaheim chilis not those nasty pablano things you get in Southwestern resturants. Tacos are good (honest to goodness ground beef not some nasty chili powder and meat combination). Burritos, very good, Huevos Rancheros is excellent. And the tamales --- oh the TAMALES!!! You'll find locals and persons of Hispanic descent eating here. I do admit the ambiance of the place leaves a bit to be desired. This location has been many restaurants in its life and time. Worst Mexican food I've ever had. Bland, weird colored meat, the inside of the restaurant was dirty, fly infested and smelled. We were in Lamar for 2 days and were so scared to try another local restaurant that we only had sonic, and we never eat fast food. I'm surprised this place is still open. read more
