It seems that La Lupitas is no longer open, and that "Los Juniors" took their place. So I'm using this as a review for "Los Juniors". I prefer to use this app for positive reviews, but this is deserved. They charge for glasses of waters, and offer chips and salsa as if it's free, but it's not. I will say that the food that came out was decent and fresh. We were sad that we didn't get to experience La Lupita's. Los Juniors pricing is misleading, and while the kitchen knows what they are doing, front of house & management need to step up. read more

Stopped here on our way back from Amache in Granada on a hot day. They sat us in the coolest corner (temp wise) and served us bottomless horchata and homemade chips and salsa. The three of us had tacos, enchiladas, and tamales. All plates were wiped clean. Highly recommend Lupitas if you're passing through. To the guy who claims to be from Hatch and spells chile, "chilli" ... you were in eastern Colorado. Be thankful everything wasn't smothered in cumin Denver/Boulder style. read more

Wow! My wife and I are visiting Lamar for a special event in nearby Granada. We chose La Lupita's almost at random. The corn flavors of the enchilada tortillas and the gordita were awesome. Melissa, La Lupita's chef, came out of the kitchen to talk to us. She then brought us a small bowl of her green chile pork to try. Another WOW! We highly recommend stopping here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. read more

This is a run-down, old building with poor signage, so you are as likely to see it as you are to miss it. The inside is what you would expect from a place like this in business for 20-30 years, but it was clean. Based on a review here, I opted for the Green Enchiladas. You get three of them with rice and beans for $12.50. Chips, salsa and water are extra. I ordered two cheese and one chicken enchilada. The chicken were ok, but the cheese were better. I have no doubt this is the best Mexican Food in Lamar, but I grew up on the border and in my opinion, it was average/good. The rice and beans were really good and to my liking. On the downside, I really wanted a Chili Relleno. I just don't understand why Mexican Food joints in Colorado wrap their green chilis in an egg roll wrap and deep fry. Where did this tradition start? A proper Relleno is very lightly battered in egg wash and finely ground yellow or blue corn. This is the way it is done in Hatch, NM... the center of the world for Chili Relleno's. I passed on the Chinese Chili Relleno. Overall a darn good place. read more

The restaurant is welcoming with its art, wall color, plants. The food is delicious and fresh. The service is friendly. We are traveling from Wisconsin to Albuquerque and are so happy to have found this wonderful restaurant. We will visit again read more

Family owned, the food was some of the best I've had in many years! And I travel the world. The pork green chili is great, salsas are on point.. they even have a "secret" menu.. Stopped by this place on the way back to Texas. We know our Mexican Food and this place was AWESOME. The green enchiladas were some of the best we have ever had! Tacos Al Pastor were also good. The owner came out and talked to us about how everything was made from scratch and how she was especially proud of her homemade chorizo. She brought out a couple of chorizo tacos for us to try for free, incredible! Love finding great Mexican food in unexpected places! read more

This family run business was the best! Everything was wonderful and tasted homemade including the tortillas. We didn't see it on the menu, but asked and was able to order the molcajete and queso. Both were fabulous as well as the service. We will return on our next trip! read more

As we were traveling home from spending an early Christmas with family in Loveland we were starting to get hungry. I jumped on here & began to look for a good local place to eat. This place showed up. I'm a little surprised that it didn't have a full 5 star rating because it was amazing. We were greeted quickly & seated. The place was very clean & homey as well. The chips were homemade flour tortilla & the salsa was the bomb! I had the special which was stacked beef enchiladas with "sopas". I had no clue that "sopas" would be shell pasta in a tomato sauce but YUM! And the enchiladas were amazing. The red sauce had just the right spice to it & the beef was nicely seasoned. And since we had been traveling in snow & temps were below freezing (& I wasn't driving) I decided to try one of their house margaritas. I thought the price was a little high at $9.99 until I saw it. I'm Mexican and the food here is not. The barbacoa was bad. It tasted like they put cinnamon in the meat. The adobada meat was way too spicy to enjoy the flavor. It looked more like carne al pastor. The restaurant's bathrooms are through a dirty door. The women's restroom had 2 toilets, 1 with a box lid on top with an "out of order" sign and the working toilet would not flush. read more
