A restaurant receipt from Tavern 1301 in Lamar, Colorado, displays the restaurant's name, address, server's name, check number, date, and time. It lists ordered items including enchiladas, lemonade, and creme brulee, with individual prices, subtotal, tax, and total. The receipt also mentions a promotional offer of half-price bottles of wine every Wednesday and prime rib every Saturday at the historic inn.

A strong aggregate rating with numerous reviews is almost always legit. It's true with Tavern 1301. An excellent early dinner during a road trip through southeastern Colorado. Service by Kiya was equally superlative.

Cluck Norris (with Delta Force) - A fried chicken sandwich with a breaded chicken fillet, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and sauce inside a hoagie bun, placed on a white oval plate. French fries are served on the side. The setting appears to be a restaurant with a wooden table and drinks in the background, with dim lighting.

This was an interesting spot that I found while traveling through the Plains. The menu was eclectic, but everything was really good and fresh. I'm "one of those" and they had no issue accommodating me. The restaurant is inside a hotel, in the atrium. Oveall, cool spot.

First of all, if you are driving through Lamar, CO this is the place to eat in town. Surprisingly, folks around the panhandle New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Kansas always stop by. First entering in it's you are greeted and you have the option for the bar or sit down. The sit-down is a little bit more calmer with a chill atmosphere. I love the wait staff, they are so attentive to your requests and responsive. I really enjoyed my dinner with a colleague of mine. I had the ribeye, mid rare with the sweet corn tamale. The steak was prepared perfect to my preference. I do prefer my temp a little bit more on the rarer side than medium. Dressing had a different flavor profile I haven't tasted before. Grape tomatoes were a tad on the softer side but it was great. Finally, I finished the night with a sweet night cap of the crème brûlée. Visually and flavor wise of the dishes were stupendous. I'll be coming back for lunch tomorrow! I recommend it!

Beef and bean chili, part of the 12 buck lunch - A white plate holds a bowl of beef and bean chili garnished with chopped herbs, accompanied by a toasted slice of bread with grill marks. The setting includes sunglasses, a small container of sauce, and a drink in the background, indicating a casual dining environment.

We stopped by on a road trip through Lamar. This place is a hidden gem, would not expect it in a motel. They were accommodating to our family, sitting us where we requested. Food was good all around. The endless salad was huge, fresh tomatoes and rainbow carrots. The beef and bean chili with garlic bread was amazing. Steak had a great taste. Kid portions were large too. Inside there were plants everywhere, felt like we were sitting in a jungle. Will definitely stop in again.

Excellent food choices and beautiful plating. It's a surprise to find this kind of food in such a small town. The service here is very friendly and casual. The servers are well trained and understand everything on the menu. There are good wine choices too. The food was so good that I ate dinner here two days in a row.

    Very clean bar

Food is amazing, service matches. Very clean and fun atmosphere. Good prices on specials and drinks

Goose outside of lobby - A large goose sculpture, positioned indoors, is decorated with string lights, tinsel, and Christmas ornaments, including a green garland around its neck. The sculpture is placed on a small trailer with a Colorado license plate, and the background features windows, a brick column, and indoor furniture. The setting appears to be a commercial or public space with holiday decorations.

Steak was excellent. Margarita, too. Dining area was a large cavernous room, so a little goofy but it was on point thematically.

Food was good. Service was okay, took forever to get refills. The atmosphere was awesome once inside, outside looks a little sketchy tho.

I was surprised at how young this talented chef is when he stopped by our table to check on us. Don't let the run down place fool you, this food is legit and absolutely delicious! You'll enter the steak house and the waitress will hand you their menu. Inside the menu is the Indian section and the steak house selection. The steakhouse also has a buffet. Highly recommend the Indian cuisine!

She asked me what I wanted to drink. I said a Diet Pepsi. I got a regular. I asked again, she brought me diet Dr Pepper. I politely said, "Let's try this again." We got it on the third try. As I was reading the menu, I heard 2 men complaining adamantly that they're food tasted like "burnt grease," to which the waitress responded, "Our regular chef is sick and the backup is all alone." I'm not sure how that matters, but okay. To play fair, the two men were grumpy old couch cushions, regardless, they're customers. I ordered the salad bar. The lettuce is ice burg that went through like a spaghetti maker. It was long and stringy. The items in the salad bar are not cold. It's room temperature. I have concerns. Also, there were about 5-7 flies walking on all of it. I sat back down, I waited for my waitress. I handed her a $5, and said, "That's for the soda the rest is yours. I don't think I want to eat here." I politely walked out. I hate giving only one star, I think it's petty, but this place earned it. If I can't feel comfortable eating the food at a place that does food, then I gotta go. The waitress seemed like a genuinely nice person, and I hope I didn't offend her. She probably deserves better working conditions, I don't know. We're supposed to review the food, and I didn't want to.
