I finally got my impacted wisdom teeth (all four third molars) removed at Vancouver Oral Surgery…read moreGroup on 300 SE 120th Ave in Vancouver, WA, and I'm so glad I chose them. I was pretty nervous going in, but Dr. Martin Seidenschmid (everyone calls him "Doc Martin") made the whole thing so much easier. He has a great sense of humor, took the time to explain exactly what was going to happen in simple terms, and was incredibly gentle, quick and skilled during the procedure. I barely felt any discomfort afterward. Just some manageable soreness that was way better than I expected. His experience showed as I was expecting impacted wisdom teethe to be a lot bigger deal to get out of there! I felt completely confident and cared for the entire time. The front office and support team were just as outstanding and made everything stress-free. Michaela at reception and billing was an absolute superstar--she handled all my insurance questions, paperwork, and billing details with patience and a big smile. She explained everything clearly, followed up promptly, and went out of her way to make sure I understood my options and costs upfront. She has such a warm, professional way about her that turned what could have been a headache into something easy and reassuring. I can't say enough good things about her! Blanca in patient care coordination was equally wonderful--she also coordinated my pre-op instructions, answered all my follow-up questions, and made sure the entire process from scheduling to recovery was seamless and supportive. The whole Vancouver Oral Surgery Group team is friendly, efficient, and truly patient-focused. If you need wisdom teeth removed (or any oral surgery), this is definitely the place to go. Huge thanks to Dr. Martin, Michaela, Blanca, and everyone else for making my experience so positive--I'm already recommending them to friends and family! --Mary Hale

Friday afternoon I went in at my appointed time, expecting to have a tooth pulled. As a first-time…read moreextraction patient, I wasn't aware the initial meeting was logistical only. When Dr Leung explained that I would not be having the procedure that day, I lost my composure and burst into tears. I was so dejected and frustrated with my dental issue; this was my third dental appointment that left me disappointed and with my abscess unresolved. This kind and very compassionate man, who had never before met me, offered to see me before the clinic opened on the following Monday to get my extraction done. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate the care I received that day. I had virtually NO pain after he pulled my tooth. I hope to never need them again, but if I do, I'll return.

I'm not a dentist type person because of Old Doc Fuller in downtown Camas, WA when we were kids…read moreduring the 70's. But gone are the days of whiskey on the back counter and shaking your shoulder to make you hold still! Thank goodness! For what ever reason numbing shots no longer work well on me. My oral surgeon is Dr. Verschueren, and he knows how to work some serious magic. He now gives me IV "numbing". Dr. Verschueren, HIMSELF, gave me my IV and it was literally the most comfortable IV I've ever had placed. Gas doesn't usually work on me either but the stuff he uses did. It relaxed me and my horrible anxiety. I don't have dental insurance and they gave us discounts. His gift of listening completely, gentleness, compassion and true empathy are extraordinary. If you have tricky dental work or specific needs give him a buzz. He and his staff are the best in town and I'm so blessed to have his dental office there for me in those terrifying times when I need them. His being a native Washingtonian adds serious cred too, in my respectful opinion. Thank you ever so much Doc! Miss Sarah

The initial experience was horrible. I was first greeted by "Ashley" who demanded full payment at…read moretime of service in an extremely rude way. I paid her and the experience didn't improve. I was escorted to a small room by a very stressed out looking assistant. She literally ran through my past health history and a minute later disappeared. I could hear the Dr yelling at the assistant that she was unprofessional with another patient and that the procedure was a "cluster". He was upset that they had left him without assistance during a procedure. At this point I'm stressed myself. The assistant came back and I said,"I hope he cheers up before he does my procedure". She didn't respond but only slapped the laughing gas mask on my face rudely. She sternly said,"breath in through your nose". The Dr came in and I said I didn't want the gas that it was just making me more nervous. He pulled the tooth and had to make an incision. This more than doubled the price. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and the price more than doubled. Ashley of course demanded more money but when I asked why it was so much she quickly got irritated. I told her I would call in with my card the next day after I looked it over and switched money from savings to checking. I did call in and pay. The bill didn't make sense but I just paid it. Follow up appointment 2 1/2 weeks later. I asked Ashley to please have my reimbursement check ready as insurance did cover way more of the procedure than she thought. Of course I was told that payment would be months out. I insisted just as she had that immediate payment be made. Horrible experience all around. If you can go somewhere else do it!

When my insurance…read morechanged I decided to leave Distinctive Dental try out a different dental practice closer to my house which was a big mistake. The other dentist (NOT distinctive) did a filling that they not only trapped blood behind, but also left a massive amount of excess composite that went passed where the tooth meets the gum and essentially made a spear slicing into the inside of my cheek. I could fit a fingernail between the excess material and the gum above my tooth. I was in a ton of pain from the resulting ulcer on my cheek and the headache from dental pain. I called distinctive and was able to get an appointment very quickly. While Dr. Kim and the assistant remained incredibly professional, they seemed surprised and were very empathetic that I was left with a filling in the condition I was. They ensured I was fully educated on my options and involved me in the creation of the treatment plan. At the first appointment they removed the excess material to ease my pain and allow the soft tissues to heal. When I went back for the repair, we had initially thought a crown was necessary, but Dr. Kim was able to successfully repair with a new filling. They could've said the significantly more expensive crown was still necessary and I wouldn't have known better, but they chose better care over making money. The procedure itself was also miles better than my experience with the other dentist--the other office had forcefully pulled my cheek away as far as possible in an attempt to access the affected back molar, while Dr. Kim gave me instructions on how to hold my jaw so he could see. He also checked in frequently to ensure I was doing okay. He also took multiple photos throughout the process so I could actually see what he was talking about, and the before and after difference was night and day. TLDR: incredibly kind and compassionate staff that truly puts patient care over profit and ensure the patient is fully informed and involved in their treatment plan. I highly recommend!

I feel so fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Mistry. Previously, I had seen 7 different doctors, and…read morestill, my condition progressively worsened until, finally, my jaw locked closed. At that point, I was told that surgery was my only option. But I knew of TMJ surgery's low success rate, so I finally sought out Dr. Mistry as a last resort. Being treated by her was completely different. Our first interaction was via video call because I live out-of-state. I had never been asked so many questions about my condition before. My first in-person appointment lasted 2-3 hours, during which I was asked more questions and had multiple tests and treatments done. Within just a few treatments, I could eat fairly normally. Now, my jaw has full range of motion and practically no pain. Dr Priya and her team are amazing!

To say I am amazed and appreciated I found her is an understatement. I can honestly say her and her team have changed my life. Finding a care team who actually and truly understands what TMJ does to person is very rare in my case. I 100% recommend the care and support from this experiment. I guarantee you on your first visit when a patient comes out. You will hear them say this has been a life changing experience.
