I was charged with a crime I did not commit and was referred to Rob by a friend…read more The past year has been one of the worst of my life and I feel Rob played the largest role in that. I have all of the Zoom and phone calls recorded to back up everything said here. Our first real meeting via Zoom was, in hindsight, foreshadowing what was to come. I felt he did not believe me. He began by trying to offer me a plea deal that I don't even think he understood. We both started this knowing that the goal was an outright dismissal. He had clearly not read it over and I felt like he was winging it as he went. I kept saying no but he kept going. Then he showed me pictures from the police file, and it also seemed like he hadn't looked at those prior to our meeting either. I kept pointing out all of the ways you could tell the accuser was lying and he kept saying "don't worry about that, save that for a trial". Being able to prove your innocence before a trial and get it dropped seemed more ideal to me. I mentioned that the arrest affidavit said the report was based on body cam footage so I asked him if he had that in his files. I assumed the cops told the accuser it was a civil matter unless she was hurt so she lied. Rob said he did not have body cam footage, but he did have the 911 calls. In it she says outright that I did not do what I was being accused of. Rob lit up and said "what did she just say". I felt like he was starting to believe me then. I began talking to civil attorneys about suing the accuser with all of the evidence she lied. All of them said I had a solid case against her for defamation per se, abuse of process, malicious prosecution, and several others - but only if I got an outright dismissal. The next few months were the worst as I couldn't figure out why Rob wouldn't help me. He kept trying to get me to take awful plea deals, but constantly left parts out. So the next call when I was considering taking it just to get it over with to move on with my life, he'd mention a part he'd left out and I'd get even more upset. He also made it sound like he was going in to talk to them and said they weren't buying anything. I asked him what the conversations are like and he said he'd actually just emailed. He did let me go in to view evidence on his computer, where I found even more proof and lies. He didn't do any work like that - trying to find something to get it dismissed. Had I not looked at or asked about the stuff, he probably never would've heard that 911 call where she outright says I didn't do it. He called me one day to ask if I wanted to take the very first deal he offered at the first Zoom meeting. He said he'd ask for an extension for me to consider it. Turns out they didn't even accept that kind of deal! When the depression began consuming me, I told him I'd take a deal to just get it over with. It was reduced from a Class A Misdemeanor to a Class C no contest misdemeanor for, ironically, the crime she committed that started this whole ordeal. Rubbed in how awful the situation was even more. I had to take a class and be good for three months. I sent Rob a picture of a page from the class textbook and he literally texted back "Who sent you that BS?". A few days ago I was able to get a police report filed against the accuser for lying. I asked for advice when talking with the detective. He replied back to that "Wow, I hope you get her back. I think all you need to do is tell the truth. The videos support you." Why couldn't Rob get my case dropped then? He didn't fight for me. I told him midway through that I felt like I was just another customer. He swore I wasn't, but with it all said and done, I was right. Rob's a paper pusher and doesn't care. He did answer most of the questions I had, but I can't sue the accuser, and lost a year of my life depressed about why this wouldn't get dropped. I wouldn't hire Rob to defend that the sky is blue or the pope is catholic. I can not recommend him and truly feel I wasted my money.

The IRS issued a Lock Letter to my employer instructing them to withhold my earnings as a single person with no dependents.
