We did our estate plan with Stephanie Long. This is an example of a firm where the product has all the good marking and "bells and whistles" but under-the-hood there are significant issues that may not be recognized by the average consumer. For example, the website is easy to use, very responsive, efficient with scheduling, organized with printing your documents, have easy to read automated emails, will hand you a nice printed final binder, etc. Critically, the quality is not there. How do we know this? My husband and I are both lawyers and ended up noticing material issues in the drafted estate plan. Some were significant, i.e., completely different than our instructions on who should be trustees etc.; some were careless, i.e., repeated misspellings, etc. Unfortunately, I know all too well that even the careless errors can become material in the future. In any event, we both reviewed the whole plan line-by-line, including to consider possible future issues and interactions between provisions. We ended up having to flag those issues for Ms. Long. Most frustratingly, they didn't get corrected the first time and we had to review hundreds of pages very closely again - not only a huge waste of our time but raises questions about whether Ms. Long either (1) ingored the comments, or (2) even worse, thought we wouldn't notice she failed to make the changes. We did let the firm finish the estate plan, largely because we were able to suggest corrections that were ultimately implemented, and I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting my money back and starting over. But I'm writing this review to caution non-lawyers who may not be able to do a thorough line-by-line review or pay for a second look from a different lawyer. Sadly, estate planning is the type of work where in most scenarios, the grave issues will not become apparent until the customer has passed leaving their spouse, kids, family, etc. to deal with the fallout of a poorly drafted plan. I can absolutely see how one can think this firm is excellent given the bells and whistles without actually reading the line-by-line product. Unfortunately, you won't know what went wrong until it's too late. I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm to insist upon working directly with Mike Massey (given other good reviews), pay for a second look (why would you waste that kind of money?), or go elsewhere. (I would encourage Mr. Massey to contact me to hear further details - he can direct message me since this is posted under my initials.) read more

If you finally decide to stop putting off getting a will, just in case, even though you're only 50, this is absolutely the quickest, cheapest, most painless place you will find. I was all set to try to do it myself with forms from an online site, but decided against it. I figured if I was finally going to do it, I didn't want any doubts that it would all be done properly.
