Similarly, Chris too remained confident and cheerful throughout, and though twenty-five years my junior, grasped the very real and personal trauma I was enduring. When needed, at times, Chris would gently set me straight when I was either being wrongheaded, stubborn or doing something that would harm our case. I even recall during the trial Chris tapping me on my leg under the table when he didn't like the body language I was displaying before the judge. For this I am grateful, for you see, because of this team and their dedication to this client, I walked away with fifty-eight percent of my estate which included ninety one percent of our retirement account. The shock and awe is intense, and yet my instincts kicked in with the rise of prior experiential events that this was not my first rodeo being abandoned by a wife. The keen unpleasantness brought to my heart was replaced by taking that first, critical step to acquire legal support that would not dissipate the violence afoot, but would be my anchor in these stormy waters. As in past occasions, I made that fateful call to the Texas Bar Lawyer Referral, which is at best a low-risk lottery, and hopefully provides the professional relief to the "shock and awe" of being thrown into a divorce action. These guys had their hands full with me. I had a complex estate going through divorce and needed to ensure it was handled right. I also have a very hard time controlling my emotions - by the end of it, I had my team laughing and high fiving - but that was after some tears, lots of screaming and many, many F bombs..... In the end though, we fought the best fight and feel that I came out as well as could be expected, better really. Everyone's definition of fair is different - so others involved don't think it was fair. If you were the one that built it, you'd agree it was more than fair. Excellent communication throughout the ordeal. Never dropped a ball or let things sit idle.
