He didn't have a sweet bedside manner, but seemed to know what he was talking about. He never sent me an email to sign up with him as of 01/12/2023. I guess I'll have to find a new lawyer. I had hired another Austin area lawyer who had promised me she would help me with my divorce step by step and with "thorough" communication. Jason costs me thousands of dollars by not paying attention to the details. There were times when I was not sure if he was more interested in my spouse or me. The experience I had with Jason Partneys Law Firm without a doubt has been my best experience. I am a concerned father who wanted to see his daughter and to have a better visitation then mom would allow (little to none) and on her terms. Previously I hired another attorney (Patricia Browns Law firm) that had a not so pleasant experience. I never got followed up in timely manner, felt the service was terrible and thank god I switched. I lost my retainer based on a lack of service to none and a simple filing to keep my daughter within the county till we got a court date. I hired Jason based on research and decided on him. Verdict still out, I am new to Austin and had a matter regarding a divorce and child custody. A bit complicated, and I sent over a letter and timeline the day before so that Jason could read it and speak to the matter at hand. I offered to pay for consultation, my offer not accepted. I was 15 minutes late. He had not read letter, and program I use alerts me to when someone opens the document. Document not opened day after appointment, and phone call to determine if email sent to correct address not returned. I have never acquired a lawyer before, so I have nothing to compare it too, but I am VERY happy how things turned out in my case. I came in with tons of questions, inquiries, and more then 1 type of situation for him to handle pertaining to modifications to child support, custody, health care, & CPS. He answered every question, gave direct answers to what was feasible and what wasn't, & gave me a flat fee to help with 4 different situations at hand. We had to go to court 3 times since August, and didn't charge me anything more then what we agreed on and what I accumulated as extra fees (subpoenas, being served fees, etc). I had numerous run ins with my ex, and Jason, basically, held my hand to get through some of the messier encounters. He played mediator between myself, the ex, and his lawyer on more then one occasion. He replied to every email (and there were TONS), and he had my most up most faith on getting the job done. I got everything I asked for! The only negative thing I can say, it was difficult to get a hold of him via phone, the only reason why I can't give him full 5 stars. From asking a question, to making a payment, the phone just wasn't working with getting a hold of him. But like I said, email response was waaay quicker and a better way to communicate. Very likeable, genuine, very direct, straight to the point, "yes you can/no you can't" type of answers. I feel that if you don't agree with him then you'll get thrown under the bus. If you want to stand up for something or state your case he won't allow it. He is the professional though so your request do not matter. I had asked multiple times for him to get off my case and that I wanted him completely dismissed and he refused to until he ensured paperwork was signed that I did not agree with. He is super friendly and very Kumbaya with opossing consel and pretty much anyone who he meets. If you are going through a civil divorce I would highly recommend him. He is a super sweet nice guy. If you need someone who is going to listen to what you have to say and not throw you to the wolves because you are displeased with him then this isn't your guy. This attorney isn't one to put a fight for you unless you completely agree with all that he is doing. Unfortunately we had different views and opinions but I wouldn't have thought a professional would have thrown their still client under the bus and I wish he would have listened to my request the first time when I asked to dismiss him from my case. He continued to work against me, that's why he continued on my case. He did nothing to benefit my case after I had told him I wanted him to stop working and get off of my case. I had to ask 3 times and hired a new attorney to boot him. Regardless like I said he is a super nice genuine guy but I most definitely felt it was his way or the highway so we had to part ways.
