My husband and I stopped by to get some coins evaluated. We showed up literally five minutes before closing time, but Mr. Jackson was gracious enough to unlock the door and let us in. We met a very nice man named Bob, a rare coin expert. He evaluated our coins are determined them to be forgeries. I suspected this, so I wasn't terribly disappointed. He also looked at my 1963 Benjamin Franklin half dollar proof set from the Philadelphia Mint and determined it was worth ten dollars. Again, I was not disappointed because I have no intention of selling it. The store itself is small, but they have some really neat items. I especially liked the mock Rolex wall clocks ($200 to $300). Also, and this is a huge plus to me as I'm a philatelist, they have stamps! I wish I'd had more time to look at them. Mr. Jackson said they sell them in lots of 100 for face value. Listen. Any one who works with people understands that there are times when you just can't please everyone! I'm here to tell you that if You are not happy with the service quality and integrity that this man and His business offer, then the problem is CLEARLY with Y O U! Mr Jackson spent CONSIDERABLE time with me, my wife and my son (separately at different times) Helping us repair/mount a coin that was a family heirloom and precious to US even though it was not in a general sense. He went above and beyond to accommodate us and help us. All for what i can only imagine was at best a few bucks in his coffers. In my opinion, Not worth the effort on his behalf at all! Moving onto Roswell rd. once upon a time I was in and out of this shopping center on a regular basis and at some point in 2004 ended up stopping in here for coins on occasion. Some older traditions or customs call for "giving of silver or gold coins upon a birth of a child", silver was purchased as gifts. Today's interest 2015 Silver Dollars and was quoted a fair price, then asked about 1960's something half dollar proofs. Strange the coins were literally sitting on a bookshelf directly in front of the counter and bought one. I was able to choose the one of interest and it was placed into a casing to keep from getting scratched or fingerprinted. If you are looking for proofs or something a bit more rare call or stop by for a quote. *FYI there are "no coins" in the cases and you will have to be buzzed in to speak with someone about a possible purchase. read more

I don't write Yelp reviews, but had a REALLY crazy experience here. I walked up to the door and waited for the owner to unlock it from behind the counter. He unlocked it. Keep that in mind. Immediately the owner says, "sir we operate by appointment only...." Before he could finish, his pre-dyed Guy Fieri-looking customer turned around to me and said "you need to step back out and wait til I'm finished." The owner tried to say something else but I stopped him and said I'll never be back, you guys are a$$ holes. I left. What's weird is that I was going in to check out some watches in the adjoining unit... not at all interested in any sketchy rare coins or any other of the shady dealings they seemed to be doing. Unfortunately, this has lost business for TimelessLuxury which is where I was going before I was stopped and berated by these jerks. I took several collections of coins from my mother-in-law after she passed last year. Larry was very honest with me (and I knew a lot of it was essentially worthless--never buy stuff from PCS), but he took the time to go through everything and offered me a fair price for all that was there, and even told me I could bring back the stamp collections she had accumulated as well. I first spoke with an older gentleman over the phone at Larry Jacksons rare coins. I told him that my brother and I had a coin collection from our youth and we were wondering if he could help us see if there is anything of value. He said that he would and for me to just come in. I had to drive 45 minutes to get to their shop. As soon as I arrived a younger person was working there; perhaps the son. He was completely arrogant from the start and would not take time to help at all. He made me feel like I was bothering him. He spent a total of 5 to 10 seconds superficially gazing over my collection and filled books of coins and just said," You don't have anything". "ok sorry". and rushed me out the door. Complete waste of time. The reality is that I know that I have some very valuable coins if he had only taken the time to look at them. I am not the kind of person that posts things at every whim; but don't waste your time going to this place. You are better off getting information from other sources. read more

Have bought and sold coins of all kinds as well as precious metals in Georgia, New York, and online so I have experienced a lot of different coin dealers. Larry Jackson's is among the best. For one thing, Larry knows his business and the coin world inside out and backwards. This helps when you need an assessment of rare coins, or unique ones. He helped my mother convert a huge stash of unique coins from around the world quickly. A lot of dealers would have to look up each one for a price because they would not know them as well. One of the biggest reasons to visit his secured store, is that he almost always has everything - gold, silver, rare coins, etc. when a lot of other dealers are bought out. I just went there today to get some items that no one else - even online - had! This place is a rip off! They sold me a watch for $3,100 telling me that it was in excellent working condition. Seller, Brain, made it very clear that the watch was inspected and did not have any issues. Well, the watch stopped working next day. They sold me a watch that I could not wear. I have already filed a complaint about Larry Jackson Numismatics, INC to Better Business Bureau. I had to service the watch through Breitling company and paid $571 out of my pocket. Went here on 12/30. Staff separated my coins into two piles - one that had value, one that did not. Was told the pile with value was worth $300. I called my dad from the store to ensure that he was okay with selling the coins for $300. I couldn't reach my dad. Staff said, no problem and to come back the next day. I came back the next day with a bag which contained the pile of coins that the staff said had value. Staff asked me how much they quoted me the day before. I said $300. Staff said it couldn't be possible because what I brought them was only worth about $120. Accused me of getting the piles mixed up. Told me to come back the next day with the other bag. I came back the next day with both bags - the one the staff said had value and the one the staff said didn't have value. Told me that both bags of coins were only worth $150. Accused me of taking out the valuable coins and shopping them around to other dealers then coming back to their store to rip them off by bringing stuff that was only worth $150. I do believe they are the ones who were trying to rip me off. Not to mention accusing me of shopping around and selling valuable coins elsewhere. I have loads of other coins from my grandmother's estate that I will NOT have appraised by Larry Jackson Numismatics. They lost a customer in me. read more

My husband and I visited Larry Jackson Rare Coins for an appraisal of a coin collection which was left to my husband and his sister in a Trust. An appraisal had been done by another well-qualified appraiser about a year ago. We didn't go in to Mr. Jackson's business with any expectations except to pay a lot for another appraisal. When we walked in the door, that expectation faded away. Mr. Jackson was the kindest, most honest and professional person we could have asked for. He looked through the 8 - 9 boxes we brought with us and took a few hours with us. He confirmed the value the prior appraiser gave the collection was correct and, because the coins were predominately made of "spending money" with nothing but face value (and would cost more than the collection was worth had he done a full appraisal), he would not take payment from us. Of course, we all would have liked to have heard that we had a valuable collection but, Mr. Jackson's honesty and integrity was a relief when there are already so many other stressful issues with handling a Trust. We could not have picked a better person in the entire Southeast, or possibly further, to evaluate the collection! read more
