Half of the staff was helpful and interested in my needs, and the other 1/2 of the staff was busy playing games. I was hoping for something more like the gigantic Kennesaw store, other reviews/reviewers did not indicate otherwise, but this store is very small, maybe 20% of the size of the Kennesaw store. With this small size the selection was even smaller. This store may be a good shopping location for RC vehicles, there appeared to be a reasonably large selection, but this is not my wheelhouse. I think the real value, and I know the variety, is found at the Kennesaw store. I selected this store due to the fact that it was 25 miles closer. I had an absolutely fantastic experience yesterday at HobbyTown in Buford. My grandson has wanted a TRAXXAS RC vehicle for more than a year, and we finally bought him one for his birthday. We had scoped his options out at a hobby shop close to my home, and although the staff there was incredibly passive and unhelpful, for some reason (geography, I guess), I went back there to make the purchase. I practically had to beg some one to acknowledge me, and when he grumpily took my money, he made it clear he couldn't have cared less whether I made the purchase. When my grandson opened his gift, his grandfather and I realized that getting the vehicle ready to run was going to be a little more complicated than we expected. It's not rocket science, but there was a bit of a learning curve. When we somehow blew a fuse in the charger, I knew I definitely wasn't going back to the shop where I bought the vehicle, so I called HobbyTown in Buford, and from the time John answered the phone, I knew I had found the right hobby shop for me. He answered the phone with a cheerful greeting, and it just got better from there. He confirmed that they had in stock the charger and fuse I needed, and when we ended the call, I felt like a real person, not just a credit card holder. When we arrived at HobbyTown, not one, but TWO employees devoted their time to making sure my grandson and I understood what we needed to do to get the most out of our investment in a TRAXXAS vehicle, even though we'd bought it somewhere else. Without a doubt, this is the best Hobby Shop in the Atlanta area. I've been a customer since they were in Duluth and thought it was awesome that Philip the RC expert bought the store from the previous owner. He is always willing to take the time to answer questions and explain how things work. The rest of the employees are always friendly and helpful too. I have bought at least 5 RC vehicles from him as their prices are comparable to most online retailers without having to wait for shipping. More than once they have taken care of problems with new items out of the package. Common repair parts are almost always available, even if they are not he can usually order them and get them faster than I get them from the third-party sellers on Amazon. They also have a small selection of RadioShack components as well as an indoor RC crawler and drift car track that's free for anyone to use on weekdays. read more

The Staff,especially the Owner,Phillip were exceptionally knowledgeable and extremely helpful in diagnosing my Monster Truck issues and fixing them immediately! The store itself was well organized with everything a RC enthusiast could ever ask for! I enjoyed being part of the hands-on maintenance my Truck needed and learned so much first hand from Phillip and the entire staff!
