It took about a month but Anthony delivered them (because I live near Union Square) all looking great and marked with thread to show where the repairs were. They told me the suit will be ready at 12, so I picked it up at 12 and hurried home to change, that was when I found out the suit is not finished. I contacted them, and they apologized and agreed to finish the suit. After I got the suit back the second time, I guess the suit is finished, but the quality is absolutely terrible, and they would not give me partial refund for not finishing the suit on time (which was the sole reason I paid 500 dollars for this, if I didn't need it the next day, I wouldn't pay that much for sure). This place cannot deliver their promise and the quality of service is not acceptable, especially for this crazy price.

Sam is one of the best tailors in NYC. My husband and I were married in May, and he did a custom…read more3-piece suit for my husband as well as altering my two dresses. I bought 2 dresses at a sample sale at Kleinfield's, and both needed adjustments. One more so than the other. Sam took the original dress and essentially re-made into a different dress that fit my vision, which was not easy by any means. The dress didn't entirely fit as well and I was very nervous I made a mistake buying the dress. Sam is extremely detail-orientated, and wants everything for his clients to be perfect. I'm so happy we both went to him for our big day. My husbands suit fits him perfectly and the color and pattern were exactly what he was looking for as well. Thank you Sam for everything!

I needed two pairs of nice slacks and two sports coats tailored since my legs and arms are too…read moreshort to box with God and since these were somewhat expensive items, I was a little leery of using the many dry cleaners in the area that offer tailoring. So I looked at the recommended tailors on the very popular menswear blog the sartorialist (http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com) and chose Mak's. I called them for prices for hemming the pants and shortening the jackets and then after visiting the shop and getting measured, I was shocked when the receipt showed double the price I was quoted. They also stated that I could only pay them in cash. After complaining that the charges were higher than I was quoted (double!), it was explained that tailoring is tougher than it looks. Whatever - NY is an expensive town, so I let it slide. When I returned for my items 4 or 5 days later, they couldn't find my slacks. Turns out no one had worked on them and after I went ape, they promised to bring them to my building a couple of hours later with the alterations completed. I was happy to get the pants that night and every thing fit "ok". I asked for a little more cuff to show on the jackets and I was disappointed that they were altered to the standard American length. All in all, for what I got, I would have been just as happy visiting my local dry cleaner. I know it would have been a whole lot cheaper.

I came here to have a dress tailored. I ended up having to come back for fittings about 5 times…read more The dress had a train and in my first session, I asked for the train to be removed and for the sleeves to be shortened. When I came back to pick up the dress, the train was still attached and the sleeves were not short enough, despite them taking my measurements in the first appointment. I came back again and the train was removed, but the sleeves still weren't right and the adjustments made the waist too tight. So they then had to take out the waist, which took another couple of appointments to get right. Considering they took measurements during each fitting, I felt it was a bit too much trial and error. They were very kind, but there wasn't enough precision with their work. The shop would often get quite crowded and several times, there was a wait to use the fitting rooms. On the positive side, they were fairly affordable. In the end, the dress fit decently well, but I'm not sure I'd use this tailor again.
