The daunting task of completely emptying our home of more than 21 years of accumulated stuff had kept us from putting our home on the market for at least a year. Enter Tom and Penni Yanessa of Sequels Auctions who reassured us that the process could be relatively painless. All we had to do was identify and remove what we wanted to keep. They would do the rest -- sift through everything else, sort it, photograph it and list it for sale on their auction website. Considering the mountainous nature of what we left in that house, we were astounded at how well Tom and Penni were able to wade through it all and stage it for an effective auction. It WAS easy - for us, at least - and unbelievably lucrative. The final sale result hugely exceeded our expectations. We enthusiastically recommend Sequels Estate Sales if you need help turning stuff into money. Working with Tom and Penni was a complete pleasure.

All the fabric got sold to one person. For all the people that I saw in line who were angry at them for selling it all, that is their job to make what they can for the people who hired them. It is not to please us. I've been to Estate Sales where an entire curio cabinet full of miniature clocks was sold to one person. I was hoping to get a couple of them. It happens!! They are the nicest people and fair pricing. Thanks for all the hard work you put in to these Sales. Let the negative comments roll off your backs. You all do a fantastic job!!!

I recently used Wade Estate to help clear out my parents' home. While the family who runs this…read morebusiness were very kind and personable, there were significant issues which, had I known about beforehand, would have caused me to go with another company. First, Ian toured the house and gave me a verbal quote for the "cleanout" after the sale. My family and I had already cleaned out much of the house, including all of the trash and personal items. This was definitely not like some of the packed houses I'm sure Ian has dealt with. When I got the final contract, the cleanout fee had increased significantly because I told him we would not be including my mom's gold jewelry in the sale. Ian tried repeatedly to get me to include it, and I kept telling him no. I agreed to the higher cleanout price, but in hindsight I realize this was classic "bait and switch." On the day of the sale, Ian already had two other sales being held simultaneously. Ian was never present at my parents' house at any point during our two day sale. It was clear to me that he was overbooked and not able to fully staff our sale. As an example, there were several items in the shed in the backyard that were never brought out or priced. Ian knew about the shed beforehand. I personally brought out some of the items on the first day of the sale and asked Ian's mom to price them. Also, there was only a tiny piece of tape indicating that the garage had items for sale. Most people never saw it. So, I took it upon myself to make a bigger sign and to sit in the garage so that people were aware of those items. Ian's mother actually tried to get me to leave, even going so far as to get Ian on the phone. She gave no other reason other than "some people get very upset seeing their loved ones' property being sold." I assured her multiple times that it actually was very comforting to me to see how much people were enjoying all the stuff. Eventually, Ian agreed to "let" me stay. (On my own parents' property!) On day 2 of the sale, two friends of Ian's came and bought multiple items in bulk. All of the books went to one very nice lady, and all of the furniture to another man. I have no way of knowing if they paid the stated price or got a "bulk deal." I am glad the things are gone, but it seemed suspicious. The house was fairly well cleaned out after the sale, but several items were left behind (items in dishwasher, items in garage, etc...) Messages I sent to Ian about these were not returned. In all, Ian and his family are personable and appear to be kind. They told me multiple times about their Christian faith. But it strikes me as not very "Christian" the way some of the sale was handled. Our family is dealing with significant grief and stress. Dad is going through the final stages of Alzheimer's disease. Thus, I was probably not as thorough as I normally would have been when setting up the contract terms with Ian. I'm sure this happens with a lot of the families Ian works with. In the end, we earned a "profit" of less than $400.00. This is from an estate that had many antiques, vintage costume jewelry, silver, Waterford crystal, quality furniture, etc. Did Wade Estate take advantage of us? I'll never know, but perhaps this review will help someone in the future to look further when searching for a company to help them in their own time of need.

The Cincinnati real estate market is pretty challenging right now and Amy has adjusted her processes to give buyers the best chance at winning a home with limited inventory on the market. Not only is she an expert in the Cincinnati real estate market having lived and worked in the area for a number of years, but she has built an excellent reputation with realtors here as well. Case in point, due to her excellent advice and relationships, we were able to make a winning bid on a home in a multiple offer situation even though we weren't the highest bidder. Amy has an excellent support team, from loan specialists, inspectors, and title agency. Everyone we have dealt with has been super communicative, eager to answer questions and all working together to support a quick closing that the seller was working for. I would have no hesitation referring Amy to anyone looking to buy or sell in the Cincinnati area. Amy is the BEST!

We always felt like the home was in great hands, even though we were hundreds of miles away. Thanks to Amy's deep knowledge of the local market and expert guidance, we received multiple strong offers and were able to close quickly and smoothly. What could have been a complicated, stressful experience turned out to be seamless. The task of cleaning out the house and liquidating the contents seemed insurmountable and was only made more daunting by the fact I live out of state. Rosie immediately put me at ease and was reassuring, patient and transparent throughout the entire process from our first meeting to the final accounting. From the very beginning she explained the time and work that would be needed and this allowed us to set realistic expectations. It was, without a doubt, the absolute right decision for us. I simply couldn't afford to take who knows how much time off of work, travel to Ohio and go through everything myself - it would have taken me three times as long and not having the contacts that Rosie has I wouldn't have been nearly as successful - not to mention the stress and emotional toll this would have taken. The open communication was so appreciated and I never once felt like I was a bother. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Caring Transitions Cincinnati West and honestly don't know what I would have done without their help. It was a much needed relief during an already extremely stressful time. Thank you for everything and for treating my family home with such care and respect. I am so grateful!

I had hoped to not have to write a negative review for this small business, but with each passing…read moreday I feel more and more like they robbed me. We had them manage an estate sale and whole home cleanout for our house as we were downsizing and moving to OTR now that our kids are out of the house and on their own. I was largely satisfied with the sale that they ran, but the clean out process couldn't have been worse. Items that were supposed to stay with the house. Building plans, appliance manuals, replacement flooring materials, matching paint for the rooms, remote controls for the mini split heating and cooling system, ring doorbells, fixtures on the back deck - WHO TAKES OUT DOORBELLS - and so much more that shouldn't have been removed was removed) Items that were part of the agreed cleanout were left behind and not taken care of. As a result of what was removed that shouldn't have been removed I had to spend more than the proceeds of the sale to get my house ready to list - I had to re floor the entire kitchen instead of just using the replacement flooring I already had, I had to repaint the entire interior instead of doing touch up work with the remaining paint I had, I had to buy new light fixtures because light fixtures that were supposed to stay with the house did not. All said it cost me nearly $9000 more than it should have to get the house ready for sale and more than a month of labor that should have been easy touch ups. Beyond this, they state that the "keep as much out of the landfill as they can" but when we came to the house after the cleanout our trash and recycling was stuffed to the gills with donatable items. Lastly, items that were not sold in the sale that they agreed to consign, big ticket items, more than $5000 of stuff, they have not communicated anything about. I wouldn't feel like I needed to leave this review if they had actually owned up to how bad that clean out went, and had continued to communicate with me about how they were going to manage the consigned items. As it stands now, after many weeks of emailing them to get a response, they have been completely radio silent. As I said earlier, I feel robbed, and just want the consigned stuff back so that I can sell since they do not seem to be putting any energy into selling those items. I hate leaving negative reviews for small businesses, but the way this was handled was so much worse than I could have ever imagined. If all you want is a managed sale, they did adequately well. But do not trust them with whole home cleanout.
