They were…read morerecommended by the owner of Mainly Art on Madison Rd who sells mid century modern furniture and art. They did an incredibly good job redoing our, what appears to me, complicated fabric covered chairs. They even refinished the walnut base and legs, we were not expecting this and at no additional charge. Speaking of charge, it was more than reasonable, the interior design company we had engaged had quoted us more than double what Homan Interiors charged us, using the same material. It was a pleasure talking to the owner, it was obvious he really enjoys bringing these old chairs back to their former glory. It is rare to see such enthusiasm about one's work, something that happens mostly with small businesses like this. I recommend them highly. M. Matsuzaka

Sally is the most stylish person you'll ever meet and she has an uncanny ability to become one with her customers sense of style. She brings a lifetime of design talents coupled with a cadre of supporting consultants, artists, painters, construction experts, and an in-depth knowledge of product types and trends We first used Sally in 2003 when we bought a new house and it needed some finishing touches. Sally interviewed us, assessed our needs, and then brought over to our house all manners of wallhangings, lamps, shades, valance material, and accessories. In 2014 we undertook a complete renovation. We wanted a couch that we had seen at the Waldorf in Rome a few years past. We described it to Sally and she called the hotel in Rome, then visited the local material library and brought everything together. The couch was perfect. We were also influenced by the beautiful marble bathrooms that we experienced while in Europe. Sally put us in touch with a bathroom architect that had done projects in such prestigious locations as the Venetian in Las Vegas. Our bathroom is the crowning achievement of the project, and was such a stunning piece of work that the contractor placed a photograph of it on the cover of his marketing brochure. If it's one lamp or a whole house re-decoration, Sally will be your partner. She never disappoints and is dogged in her pursuit of perfection. Through her business, she makes friends and builds relationships. You will look forward to the end of your project, but you will also know that you will miss her when it's done. She was very pleasant and seem knowledgeable. I contacted her through email for a consultation a few days later. I heard nothing for 6 days and sent another email to her and to the main email for Hoffman and Albers. Heidi responded that she never received my email, but we could schedule something for the current week. I responded with a day and told her I could get more specific about the time. I sent another email the following day with a specific time, asking if that would work out. Again, I heard nothing back. I finally sent an email that this wasn't going to work and received a response to that. Without going into detail, it was not the most professional response. I am surprised that in an industry where communication and customer relations are vital, Hoffman and Albers failed miserably. That should be a red flag for anyone seeking design services. I came willingly with checkbook open, and couldn't even get a consultation scheduled.

The project ran more than 15 months behind schedule and significantly over budget. Communication was inconsistent at best. We were told to expect weekly updates--those never happened. We rarely received realistic timelines, and when delays happened (which was often), there was little accountability or transparency. What was sold as a collaborative and creative process felt disorganized and one-sided. We had to constantly follow up to get answers and push the project forward ourselves. If you're thinking about working with DIGS, ask a lot of questions up front, get every detail in writing, and be prepared to manage the process much more than you'd expect from a professional firm.
