Her bass player is amazing! He sounds like Brad Paisley! I have no musical talent so it really moved me how well he played the bass. The other artists played well too! The venue is fantastic. It was my first time here. Sportsman's Tavern bought the venue three or four years ago. It isn't a dive bar like Sportsman's Tavern though. It's much more intimate. It's classier too. I liked the way they had the tables set up. I loved the stage area too. There is a small bar area where you can order drinks. There was also a waitress coming around asking if we wanted drinks or food. They have a small menu, and the food sounded good, but I wasn't hungry. You can park on the street or in their small parking lot, which holds about 25/30 spots. You'll enter the venue via a dark door near the front parking spot. There is much more room inside, than how it looks from their lot. The lot was a bit hard to find. I ended up driving around the block and then I noticed it. I'd love to come back here and see another concert soon!

I was a little wary about the immediate surrounding area, since the streets immediately around the venue were cobblestone. This made it kind of hard to walk, when it wasn't super well lit. I was also confused by the parking arrangement in the area, since it seemed like the garage had some access restriction and the parking around the backside of the building also had confusing signage. This is not a criticism of the business whatsoever, just an important note for the other aspects of your visit.

It was nice to be able to sit and enjoy the show free from the crowds. The sound quality was mostly good but at times I found it was very loud and hard to hear what the musician was saying. Didn't get any drinks or use the bathroom, so I can't comment on this aspect. Overall, I thought this was a great venue.

My estimate is a capacity of 400-500 chairs, in rows of 14 the floor, plus the balcony. I was there to see Judy Collins, who still has a wonderful voice. (She is 87). The set up is the ground surrounded by a few higher tiers so there's not a bad spot in the building. My husband had no problems coming and going for drinks, which were inexpensive, especially for a concert venue. Great sound and screens on either side but you should have a good view even in the back. Great service, too.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that when I went to use the restroom there was an attendant there with a table full of basic necessities. I've traveled a lot and I've seen this type of service before but I was surprised to see it at Town Ballroom (in the best way possible). It's a nice touch especially when there's a million things you forget when you go out to the bar and don't want to have to carry a million things. Overall it was a great night. There weren't a ton of people there so it getting drinks at the bar was easy. The bar out front is great and the drinks are always on point. It's really cool the way they have giant pictures of a lot of the artists that have performed there over the years. The bar in the back is ok. It came with a piece of strip steak that may not have been the fanciest cut, but it was flavorful and hit the spot. The chips were perfectly crunchy and dangerously addictive. I honestly could've eaten an entire bag of them. The potato salad was another pleasant surprise, creamy and flavorful without being overloaded with onions like so many versions are. If the reopening weekend is any indication, Mohawk Place is a great bar to grab a drink, and enjoy some surprisingly good food.

The staff was friendly, getting in was easy, parking was not an issue, and I was a huge fan of the sound system. In fact, going to this venue made me realize that I prefer indoor concerts, especially here, over anything outdoors. I am not a fan of heavy metal, but I also enjoyed the opening heavy metal band.
