We are here to volunteer at "A Taste of Life", a fundraiser for Roswell, specifically for lung cancer research and treatment. The whole first floor and courtyard are set up with beer, wine and a few hard liquor choices. There are tastings in each of the three rooms and the courtyard. Some of the tastings are: bruschetta with assorted toppings, Bavarian pretzels with a cheese sauce, a smoked turkey wrap, 4 different wood fired pizzas,macaroni and cheese, several cheese platters, a really beautiful dessert table with mini fruit tarts and chocolate eclairs, Mexican street corn, mini cupcakes, jerk chicken bites, empanadas. Of course the most important part of the evening was hearing an inspirational story from a 17 year survivor and her battle. read more

We volunteered for a Roswell event here called "A Taste for Life". This year it was specifically for long cancer research. There are several rooms downstairs and a courtyard. This is my second time at this location for the same event a fundraiser for " Taste of Life", supporting lung cancer and its research for Roswell Park. The atmosphere is nice, classy and comfortable for all. The staff , vendors and event overall was organized, and COVID precautions were followed. As you walked in the door, you gave your name, and showed your proof of vaccaination. This is the first event I've gone to with more people then I'm used too, but still felt safe as we all were there for a great cause. My favorite vendors of the night were the ladies at the Tops cupcakes, Thin Man Brewery, Resurgence, and Niagara Landing Winery. This event was " near and dear to my heart", attended in memory for my mom who was a lung cancer survior, and to support Roswell I was happy to be a part of their 10th Anniversary " techincally 11th", as the event was cancel last year due to COVID. read more

I've been here any number of times for small dinners and other parties. This review is based solely on a recent experience with an event for 60-70 people. The event was planned months in advance. Months. Plenty of time to get it well organized. Especially for a place like The Saturn Club, who hosts events of all different sizes all the time. And I mean ALL THE TIME. Every weekend and many week nights. There was valet parking the night of our event. There were also two or three other events so the valet parking was super busy. We bypassed and parked ourselves, thank goodness, or we might have waited an hour to get the car back. This is not a reflection on the valet parking men. They are super polite and were working their butts off. But you can only move so fast as one person. And there were not enough of them. We had one of the upstairs rooms. One that's a little awkward in layout, perhaps because we were too big a group for the space. They should have said they could not accommodate us, because frankly they could not. The space was not really a good size for us, the passed apps were having trouble making the rounds and the barmaid was a slow as molasses person. Very nice, but SLOW. And this was a drinking crowd. Just saying. Know your audience. The food was at best mediocre. I saw many plates not even close to eaten being cleared, and this is not a crowd that's affraid to eat (or drink, see above). Dessert was some passed cookies/treats. Um, really? I don't know. I was not impressed on almost any level I guess. Although the tables were beautiful. Theres that. (Three stars because I have had better experiences there. So benefit of the doubt, bumped to 3 stars.). read more

Kids bowling birthday. Great private room for the party with four standard lanes, including bumpers. Food was decent, chicken fingers and pizza. Nice atmosphere. read more

I've been here a few times for dinners and I find the place classy and the food is always great. They offer vegetarian options as well and have a fitness center and other offerings. They have a fairly large private parking lot which is convenient. read more

So, the Saturn Club. Wasn't sure what to expect from one of Buffalo's oldest private members' clubs - I was secretly hoping that it was the favourite haunt of President McKinley's ghost (he was assassinated just down the street from the club). I went as a guest of a member, no walk-ins permitted. While I was somewhat disappointed that I didn't feel the cool brush of a presidential spirit as I walked down the dark wood and stone hallway to the dining area, I was pleasantly surprised by the club's convivial atmosphere, attentive service, reasonable prices and decently prepared food. Note that there is a dress code, but really, it is nice not to wear jeans once in a while. We ate in the Red Room, a more formal eating area than the Grill Room. The well stocked bar had both prosecco and pineapple juice for my wife and Ellicottville Ski Bum for me, both very reasonably priced. A jazz singer and piano player played American standards throughout the evening, a nice touch for a Friday night out. The menu was varied and interesting - tofu bowl, fish, pumpkin ravioli, cowboy steak all looked good. My wife had the panko-crusted salmon and I had the "fish fry", which I know understand to be Buffalo code for fish & chips. The salmon was perfectly cooked, fresh and flaky, the panko crispy and topped with fresh watercress, served with a side of rice pilaf and sautéed veggies. My fish fry was a behemoth - a massive piece of hand battered haddock, slightly overcooked, but the fish was fresh, firm and buttery. A fresh red cabbage coleslaw and a small portion of hand cut fries worked perfectly with the fish. Could have done without the baked macaroni side, it was a bit out of sync with the rest of the meal. A tangy homemade tartar sauce would have been ideal as a dip, but the pedestrian sauce provided was fine. A selection of still warm bread and dinner rolls was a nice touch too. With no prices on the menu, we weren't sure what the final bill for the dinner would be, but the entrées were very reasonably priced. We skipped dessert, however, the waitress brought us a small plate of fresh made cookies to nimble on. The Saturn Club is a super class act, well worth it to check it out if you know a member. read more

Stunning place. We came here for a private event and the place was stunning. The staff was friendly and courteous and very knowledgeable about the building. There were 3 private events going on that night but we couldn't tell. We felt like royalty. read more

The Coit family and friends dined in the Grill Room on July 5, 2012. We had a wonderful time. The food was wonderful, the service excellent and memories of generations of Coits coming together at the Saturn Club was relived!! We took a tour with Scott Schuldes and I could almost hear Chapin Coit laughing at the bar! Buffalo is my hometown and the Saturn Club will find me returning everytime I visit! Thanks! The building is A LOT bigger than it looks. In house pool, 4 bowling lanes, a library, full gym just to name a few. This particular visit was for a dinner function. The staff is very friendly and professional (I had no idea there was a designated side to serve and remove dishes. Suppose I need to get out more). While the food tasted great the portions were small. It's expected in a place that puts so much emphasis on being posh. My only criticism is the building's age is beginning to show. I spotted quite a few neglected walls where the paint was starting to peel. And the walls that have had a touch up are a bland off white. Remember to drink pinky up!!! read more

One of my absolute favorite places in the world. "Where people cease from troubling and the wicked are at rest". The food is excellent, service is always good and the gym is never crowded. One of the finest buildings in Buffalo. Many fascinating architectural details. The Courtyard in the Summer is the most unique spot in the city. You wouldn't even know there was a busy hectic world out there when your a member enjoying yourself in the Grill Room! read more
