Such a great restaurant! We had the chicken pumpkin gnocchi which was delicious. We wanted a Mocktail, and they made a nonalcoholic penicillin cocktail. The best! Highly recommend this place!

The food was something you would expect from a fine dining place in Chicago. Lots of cooking passion here. Had the pork chop and cooked to perfection. Besides the food was a true mixologist behind the bar with combinations of ingredients for cocktails that were fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't be disappointed.

First timer here for a birthday dinner! A group of us girls had a booth table and our server was very nice and friendly. We started off with drinks and apps, the raspberry beret was tangy and refreshing and for apps the cheese curds and Brussels were good. For dinner, I opted for a small plate (the pork belly) because I had a late lunch and it still filled me up. It was okay! The menu was pretty small (small plates and there was about 4-5 options for large plates). They did have plenty of options of various liquor for drinks though and a wine list. Not sure if I would go back for the food unless they update that but would go back for drinks!

    Brussel Sprouts, or magic?

I've heard a lot of good things about The Lark. A lot... My parents eat there frequently for special occasions, locals say it's a place to go for a nice upscale dinner or lunch, or to treat myself to something nice. My mom and I were at the Janesville WineWalk, and needed to stop somewhere and have a bite while we wait for our designated driver to come pick us up. So my mom says let's go into the Lark and just get a couple of sides really quickly. I said sounds great. Little did I know great was an understatement!! She ordered the Brussel sprouts, I ordered the crème brûlée, which I have never had before in my life, but always sounded fancy and like something I would like to try once. So her sprouts come out first, and at this point we decide to share both dishes, and I'm so glad we did, because oh 'em gee!! It's very very very rare for Brussel sprouts to me mouth watering, can't wait to stuff another bite in your mouth, so so so devine, but these really, really were! Savory, perfect amount of crunch on the outside, give on the inside, so many different flavors that change throughout the chewing experience... yum! The crème brûlée was also a taste adventure, but I've never had any version of it before, so I've nothing to compare it to! Haha. The bottom layer was this delicious creamy custard like, covered in this shield of caremelized sugar like a wall you had to break through with spoon or fork until you had these delightful little shards of vanilla caramel candy glass, and atop that was some bananas and caramel sauce. It was so, so, so very, very good. Sharing those two amazing dishes was the best part of that whacky day, and I'd love to go back and try more of that food. Highly recommend to anyone!!!

Lark is my favorite Janesville restaurant for celebration. The food is like nothing I've experienced before, total mouth orgasm from the very first taste. Staff is very friendly and helpful, quick to refill beverages and assist as needed.

They have pretty good beer list, but have a huge wine list surprisingly. They have many cocktails to choose from too! Our food was all delicious. They have a variety of options that span from fairly priced elevated "bar food" to gourmet dishes. The cheese curds came as cubes and were delicious! Super fun take on the traditional, and a must have for a bar in Wisconsin. For meals we got the hot honey chicken sandwich, tai chicken flatbread on cauliflower crust, lobster ravioli and DH burger! Everyone loved their meals. We'll be back for sure!

just passing through town, and as always, turned to Yelp. I would like to give 5 stars to bring up…read more the rating up because I think they're a 4.5 star restaurant. We were impressed by the Gray's root beer and ginger beer. Love them serving truly local brewed sodas. The root beer was a little vanilla heavy but I liked it because I don't like most root beer. The ginger brew was EXCELLENT, and I know my ginger beers. Now I have to find out where I can buy it. We consider ourselves calamari aficianados (self-proclained, of course.). We were stoked to try it based on all of the rave reviews. Alas, this is the dish that most drop the rating for us. The calamari pieces were very small, very tough and the batter blew off. Weirdly, it showed up so close to our ordering it that I wondered if something was wrong. Was the oil so hot that the usual cook time was now too long? We're they trying a new vendor and these very small pieces cooked WAY to fast. In any case, I suggest they relook at the quality control on that dish. Below I send a photo of all the batter that fell off in the serving dish. It was a nice sized order and tasted like very good rubbery, miniature calamari. My husband ordered the pork chop and it was delicious. It was so moist and I didn't know whether that was due to brining, sous vide, bone in, or just the best preparation I've ever had. And his plate was full of potatoes and brussel sprouts. Couldn't have been happier. I had the walleye (only on Fridays) and it was a beautiful, thick fillet cooked to perfection. The potatoes were delicious, albeit not as pesto as I expected. But skin on and purple potatoes showed me a commitment to quality ingredients. There was also a nice slaw on my plate. I like that their plates had a starch and a vegetable; kind of like the restaurant days of old. No nickel and diming the customer with ordering all your sides. Heck, skin on potatoes and the more-nutricious purple potatoes are like vegetables as well. Service was great and the restaurant was nice and warm despite it being a very cold day. That means a lot to me as an "older" customer We will definitely come back and even maybe try the calamari because our tiny ringlets and tentacles didn't look like any of photos I have seen.

She said they had a party of 6 in the back room but they didn't have any information on them so our party of 14 could have the room. We were also offered the upstairs room but couldn't take it because my 94 year old dad couldn't go up the stairs. Because Erin told us about the other party I called her to confirm a week before our event. She didn't call me back so I went down in person. I waited in front of the bar for at least 15 minutes with staff walking by me and the bartender not even looking at me. I finally interrupted one of the waiters and asked if Erin was there. He said he wasn't sure and that she could be next door. I went over to the restaurant next door and found her. She assured me our reservation was in her calendar and I had nothing to worry about. After our wedding we went to Jack & Jenny's and I let them know our party was there. They said our party could head upstairs. I was mad. How could they mess this up?!! We waited another 15 - 20 minutes and the bartender wouldn't wait on our party. Then when they got the back room ready for us and asked us to come back, the bartender asked if she could get us anything?!! We were seated. Everything else went smoothly. I think most of our party liked the food. I've had a burger there before and it was good. I had the Shrimp special and I wouldn't get it again. It was deep fried butterflied shrimp that tasted like they bought it from the freezer section.
