The ambiance is fun. Unique and tasty drinks. Their espresso martini is to DIE for. Great service.

Such a cute little place, very welcoming, with a super sweet owner, comfy couches, lots of art, plants, games to play, and dog friendly, if you have a nice dog, lol. He plays with herb syrups and different takes on drinks, very refreshing. I had the old fashioned with a thyme syrup, the girls had the acid trip with matcha tea, lemonade and vodka..sweet garnishes of dragon fruit. Both delicious! Will definitely visit again!

Outstanding ambiance. Combined with a creative cocktail selection and personable staff, 5 Bar is a must stop. Highly recommended.

We ordered burrata appetizer, which I forgot to take a photo of since we were so hungry, while he ordered the farmer's trio for himself and I ordered the Short Rib for myself. Burrata and the table bread are actually fantastic. The entrees we received are very generous portions which makes it good value for the money, but at the same time, it was very heavy and a little too rich in flavor. Presentation was already great. Halfway through dinner, I was really debating between 3 or 4 stars. Because of all the positives, I was going to give it 4 stars even though the food didn't really impress me that much. Desert unfortunately tipped that scale to 3 stars. We ordered Tiramisu. It was the saddest looking tiramisu. We could tell the bottom was watery and soggy. The cake part was dried out. It does look like either it was too old or it was refrigeration issues. We took a bite regardless to be sure and we could tell by the taste that it was an older cake. As someone who's been in the restaurant industry for 30+ years, that actually could be a health violation. We did send it back and they said they'd bring a new freshly made one... which I declined. They should have done that first rather than offering that after the fact. However, the service is great overall. Just could use some work on certain things. And regardless of the restaurant, the hotel is actually very nice. If I was to be back in the area again, I'd stay at this hotel again but eat at the steak joint across the street at Ironworks hotel instead.

To start, we noticed how slow their service was and how their staff's urgency was almost non existent. Our bartender was very quirky but also very nice. We ordered nachos to share and each got 1 overpriced taco each. we both also tried mixed cocktails. Mine smelled and tasted like bandaids... idk why i knew what those taste like or maybe my imagination led me to that. My wife got the margarita flight ($20) for 3 tiny pre mixed margaritas. Both of us did not like our drinks. The food was fine, the nachos lacked depth but were edible. The tacos were not good at all, hers (fish) had very little fish and the taco was very small and didn't taste like much. My Brussel sprout taco was also very small and VERY salty. Neither of us finished our tacos. The one thing i did really enjoy was their salsa that I had to ask for with the nachos, that I was also charged for. Ultimately we spent $70-$80 on a tiny meal we didn't like at all. I have no intention to return and would suggest you explore the amazing options around beloit before landing here.

But the baked potato came out only warm and undercooked, and the French onion soup needs some attention: the onions weren't caramelized, so it lacked the rich depth that dish should have. None of this is a dealbreaker, and I'll be back. I'd just love to see them sweat the small stuff again rather than lean on nostalgia and their loyal regulars. Get those details right and this is easily a five-star spot.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable…read more When we arrived, we were told we would have to wait because we didn't have reservations. That was understandable. What wasn't acceptable was what happened next. The hostess ignored us while seating approximately 15 other guests who arrived after we did. From what I could tell, they did not have reservations. At no time did the hostess acknowledge us again, ask us to be patient, or indicate that we were next. We were very reasonable and waited in the lobby. I then asked the hostess what the issue was, to which she said we had a table of five and that was why we were waiting. I respectfully told her that if she could seat 15 people, she could pull tables together for us. I also told her that how we were treated was not okay. She responded, "What do you want me to do?" I said she could have seated us and that the way she handled the situation was not acceptable. I told her we were leaving, and she said, "That's your decision". I told her again that how we were treated was not okay, and she said, "That's your decision, not my problem." As someone with an interracial family, the way we were treated left me questioning whether bias played a role. I can't say for certain that it did, but the experience was deeply upsetting and left us feeling unwelcome. Whether this was poor customer service, discrimination, or simply indifference, no guest should be treated this way. We left feeling disrespected and will not be returning.

We then order 2 doubles Tito's from the bar. Some how they didn't have club soda or roses lime lol. Those are standard, run of the mill mixers. If I'm paying to get in, I expect the place to have a fully stocked bar. That's silly to not have regular mixers. The bartender was like, "we have Pepsi." Lol she really suggested Pepsi for the substitute for club soda and roses lime. What kind of bartender does this? Like no other suggestions of available mixers were suggested. Just Pepsi lol. So we order the Tito's with pineapple. We get the drinks and the total is....wait for it...$48!!!! For 2 double Tito's! I went to Vegas in August. The drinks at Coyotes cost more than any drinks I purchased in Vegas! Worth mentioning, it's located in South Beloit Illinois lol. The inside is merely decent. Not worth the cover. Drinks are highway robbery! Stay far, far away from Coyotes if you value your hard earned money. Coyotes is a money grab! There are far better places in the state line area that are reasonably priced. You don't get what you pay for. So it was $68 for 2 covers and 2 drinks and my experience was less than stellar to say the least. If you want to charge these prices, then step up your game. Stock your bar, hire knowledgeable bartenders, and elevate the overall aesthetics in the place. This is South Beloit not Vegas!
