Food was delicious and the service was quick but very polite. Not classy but very casual. My appetizer was a grilled shrimp skewer and my entree was a hibachi chicken, shrimp with vegetables. I will be back. read more

I don't typically post reviews like this, but I felt this experience was worth sharing. A few friends and I recently visited Laredos today, and unfortunately our interaction with the floor manager, Luis (long hair in a ponytail), left us very disappointed and disrespected. One of my menu items simply didn't taste right to me. I politely sent it back and even offered to pay for a replacement because I never expect something for free. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager (Luis) returned to our table and told me that he had tasted the item I ordered and that it tasted fine to him. Everyone's taste buds are different, and whether he agreed with my opinion wasn't really the issue. Good customer service is about listening to your customers and treating them with respect, even when you don't agree with them. The entire interaction felt unnecessary and unprofessional, and it turned what should have been an enjoyable meal into a frustrating experience. My friends and I paid for what we had ordered...didn't eat...and left, never to return again. Thankfully, we have many excellent Mexican restaurants in the Auburn/Opelika area that value customer service, and that's where I'll be spending my business in the future. read more

Bug was in tea and all they did was give us a $15 gift certificate. No apology from manager Or anything. I would think someone who runs a business would be much more concerned about their customers and making them happy and letting them know that they do not find this acceptable at all. Very disappointed because it was a place we did like to go. But we definitely will not be returning. read more

This was my second time coming to this location. I know that it was cinco de mayo so of course I knew the restaurant was going to be packed and I expected an extensive wait time. Overall, the customer service was terrible and the food was terrible. We got on the waitlist and waited approximately 30-40 minutes for a table which was fine and to be expected. Upon being seated we got our menus right away and received our beverages. Upon putting our food orders in it took about 15 minutes to revive our food which was bad considering that it was cinco de mayo and the restaurant was packed. The quantity of the food is good for the price but the quality of the food is terrible. My friend ordered a steak and the first one was cooked so well to the point she could not cut it. When sending it back to the kitchen the waiter brought out another one and it was still raw. It is clear that the food is terrible the beans taste as if they were poured right out of the can. Overall the food was tasteless and I am surprised that this restaurant is still in business. After putting our margarita drink orders in they arrived to the table in a stirofoam cup meanwhile all the other tables had actual margarita glasses. The margaritas tasted like straight alcohol and crushed ice and could not even taste the mango or strawberry flavor. Our waiter was Luis and he rushed us with everything , our food order, drink order, and everything else that we asked for. Overall we received terrible customer service and a terrible experience. I do not recommend this location. read more

I tried this place again and it was so good. I loved how fast the food came out the quesadillas are the way to go.

The food here was literally the greatest Mexican food in history of planet earth, the service was faster than ishowspeed and I received my food really fast and they had the USA soccer game on tv. In conclusion this is the greatest restaurant in auburn and I highly recommend it. read more

We were in Auburn and decided to have Mexican for a late lunch. We decided to give Laredo a try and we were not disappointed. We were seated immediately. I noticed that the restaurant was very clean. Our waiter was quick with our drinks and the chips. My husband ordered the spicy burrito and I ordered the fajita chicken rice bowl. Both dishes were hot, fresh, and delivered quickly. Our waiter was on top of refilling our drinks and clearing dirty dishes without being annoying. Overall we really enjoyed our meal. One of the really great things about this place was that the staff greeted all the patrons by name, so it was obvious this place is a part of their community. We will definitely make the effort to return the next time we are in Auburn. read more

Always consistent, good service and swift service. Been going for years and like to keep up with the family run restaurant staff

Came here to have dinner, and the food was not very good. We came into the restaurant and ordered it to go and as soon as we ordered, the person said will be ready in a few minutes. Not even five minutes later our quesadilla and burrito came out . The steak burrito to me didn't feel like it had real steak in it. None of it seem to have seasoning or flavor and I was just smothered with refried beans and the cheese sauce. I asked for extra chips and he charged me extra for that ! I will never go back read more

Laredo is an Auburn institution, existing for somewhere between 2-3 decades. The old guard will remember its much cozier/tighter location a little down Opelika Road, closer to the mall. Their Tex-Mex grub is not a revelation but it's not bad and the prices are way reasonable. My standby is the burritos deluxe ($8.25), namely since you get a chicken and a beef burrito. Perfect for me who wants it all. The chicken can be a tad dry but the "gravy" and sour cream and cheese help remedy that issue. Frankly, I don't think you can go wrong with any entree that involves cheese in some manner. Speaking of, get the cheese dip for your table to accompany the complimentary chips and salsa. The service is fine. Most folks are pretty polite and attentive, though some lean aloof. Roomy parking lot. read more

Food was not that great. Queso was cold and never got drinks refilled. Went for lunch and it was not busy

Strawberry margarita and mango margarita really good with adequate amount of alcohol in order to get you a little buzz. Really laid-back and sociable environment. Social distancing implemented. Staff kept you up to date on wait time! read more

I am extremely pleased with our visit to Laredo. Fresh hot chips and amazing blended salsa (great for my family since they prefer the blended thin salsa versus the thick chunky salsa) were brought out to our table upon being sat. The salsa had tons of flavor, fresh cilantro, and it was perfect consistency for our taste. The cheese dip was the perfect thick creamy consistency that coated the chips amazingly. When you place your order, request the spicy/hot salsa. It is absolutely amazing. So spicy and absolutely perfect addition to anything on your plate. The meat served at Laredo is different but delicious, on the Texas Nachos the chicken was grilled fajita type chicken, however almost like it is cooked in some sauce, the steak was a great flavor and extremely tender, and the shrimp were fresh and had great flavor. The beans and rice are homemade, and the beans had great flavor and you can definitely tell they are homemade. Overall the service was amazing, the food was amazing, and we will definitely be back every time we go visit. read more

Laredo Mexican Restaurant - Texas Nachos minus tomato - Mexican Near Me - Auburn, Alabama

This is possibly the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been In. I know I am accustomed to Southern California and Texas Mexican food BUT usually other places do okay. Here the salsa was runny with a bit of flavor. The red sauce had no taste and was not spicy at all. The entire meal was covered in some kind of thick melted cheese. The rice and beans were tasteless. I just didn't eat my chili relleno and only half the enchilada. read more

We had a party of 6. The server was great, the food was ok, but the drinks were nasty!! The margaritas tasted like cleaning chemicals. The server called the manager over , not me as a Karen, she let us no there were no refunds on drinks, there were no remakes and there were no exchanges. I didn't ask for any of that. She also let us know they use limeaid for the mix and that they mix it in a trash can and serve it in batches. There was zero tequila in our margarita's. I asked for a shot of tequila to add and she let me know that I would be charged for it. I was not under the impression it would be free!! So for $7.00 I got a Half shot cause it spilled when they sat it down We enjoyed our birthday dinner and won't be back!! read more

Service - above average, very friendly Food - pretty good for Mexican food in Auburn. I would highly recommend the chimichanga!! I had enough leftover for lunch the next day. Try the queso since there are unlimited chips for the table; you will not be disappointed. Drinks - I forgot which day we went but margaritas were half off so my drink was less than $5. Not watered down by any means which I appreciated. read more

I drove past this restaurant several times during my stay here and the parking lot was always packed.... That was my sign to stop in for a meal, especially since I love Mexican food... I didn't know that when my brother in law wanted us to take our families here. The meals here were awesome.... Especially the fajitas.. Extremely tender steak served with chicken. The margaritas were another winner here. 16oz, 24oz, and 32oz margaritas served here... Being a responsible drinker, I ordered a 24oz lime margarita on the rocks... Then ordered another...lol. Strong, but good... Everyone enjoyed this fun spot. How did my wife and I plan to top this night out with the family? Well, we snuck out to have more margaritas the next night..lol. This will be on our list of restaurants to visit on our next trip to Auburn... read more

I had a late lunch with my family today, and a manager was yelling across the store embarrassing a poor server. That was very unprofessional and uncalled for. You are supposed to deal with that behind closed doors, not make a mockery of your employees. I have my own business and can never in a million years put my employees through that. This place goes through servers like crazy(me and my family come here frequently), and now I can see why. This restaurant needs some serious help. Now that i went through reviews, it seems like they have some serious issues with management. This place should be shut down or get some new management. Embarrassing establishment read more

After eating here consistently for 7 years, I can say that it's my favorite Mexican in Auburn. Great customer service too! I don't know if the food has gotten better or I have finally just found what I like to eat. Either way, it's our go to. read more

I've been coming to Laredo's for years. The best thing about Laredo's is the customer service. The queso is my favorite thing to get & make sure that you get the jalapeños on the side because they take the seeds out of the jalapeños so they're not too spicy and it's a perfect combination with the queso. I love the mixed fajitas! read more

Expensive gringo mex that lacks finesse and flavor. The service was friendly but the food was nothing memorable.

We are regulars and it is very busy. Food is good and the service is as well. Dining area is a bit dated but clean and they are following COVID requirements read more

Families go to Mexican in the Auburn area for the past two decades. Always quality service dining in or taking it to go.

Terrible service for most part. Food is typically alright. I once had a waiter get upset when we took more than 2 seconds to speak our order. Then another time a waiter ran after us into the parking lot and yelled at us that we were stealing because even though he didn't ask us how to do the checks, he gave my girlfriend and I separate checks. When I paid for them up front he didn't realize the bill was combined. read more

Congratulations Laredo, you have successfully butchered my beloved Mexican food. Is that processed American cheese I tasted in your quesadillas and enchiladas? And ground beef in your pre-made hard taco shells? I could've gone to Taco Bell for that. Shredded beef please, in a freshly fried taco shell. Your chips and salsa and beans and rice are decent. Service is quick and servers are friendly - of course we speak to them in Spanish. Nice atmosphere, hence the two stars. So disappointing. Please, for the love of all that's good, use real cheese - Monterey Jack, cotija, queso fresco. Please. Pretty please. read more

This is the best Mexican food place in the Auburn/Opelika area. The food is good, the service is top notch and the prices are very reasonable. This place is also Great for kids but has enough noise that you won't hear them if that kind of thing bothers you. On a side note, I love that the owner is almost always there greeting everyone! Super nice guy! read more

This place is always busy and they seem to get you seated fairly quick. This is probably the most popular Mexican restaurant in the area of for no other reason it's location. They seem to move people in and out fairly quickly, but with that being said sometimes my food has been a bit cool. I have eaten here several times and more times than not the food is enjoyable. Really packed around lunch on Sundays. read more

food portions are very bad and workers complained when something is wrong. as much as my family comes here, the manager was very disrespectful throwing his hands while talking to us with a attitude and yelling. i will never visit this destination again and needs to be put out of business! read more

Excellent margaritas but really awful cheese enchiladas. Their specials are offered from Tuesday through Thursday but that didn't stop us from ordering margaritas. The environment is really pleasant on the inside and the employees there don't speak English very well. This used to be our favorite place but last time we ate there was just "okay." Gave them another chance today and the food sucked. The shrimp were either overcooked or bad and margarita was not even drinkable. Staff was nice as always and it was really clean but they need some help in the kitchen and bar. read more

Pretty much exactly what you would expect from a generic, middle of the road Mexican restaurant. Very comforting, friendly environment. I tried the taco and the flauta and they were both pretty good. read more

We come here often and it's always been good. Chips and salsa up front have a little kick. Queso and jalapeños on request and extra charge. I usually have the carne asada and always enjoy it. This time I got crazy and went for the Molcajete feast that comes in a stone bowl. Beware the large jalapeño in the middle. I took a small slice and wrapped it in a tortilla with other meats. It smoked me for 15 minutes. The ingredients remainder hit so it takes awhile to be edible without being a good challenge. But the broth is good and it is well done. Sis had the steak/shrimp/chicken fajita and enjoyed it. Seemed heavy on the onions and light on peppers. The Vidalia onions was a good touch. Also had a Texas Margarita that was great. Come on in. It's fine. Beware the Jalapeños! read more

Seated right away. Server was prompt. Food was excellent! Salsa tastes fresh and homemade. Will return!

Blah and yuck....two words that describe the food here. I ordered what they call a "chalupa" which in reality is a tostada and it was soggy, the beans had no flavor besides lard, and there was just a tiny sprinkling of iceberg lettuce. The burrito was so boring and flavorless. The guacamole barely resembled avocados and was oily...not something I have ever seen before. Very gross. Something was just off about it all, I could barely stomach any of it. I'm used to AUTHENTIC Mexican food, meaning, the kind you would eat in MEXICO. It is possible to find good authentic Mexican food, maybe just not in Auburn. The fact that so many people like this place and say it's the best really scares me and makes me not want to ever try the other Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

Cheese dip is great, guacamole is not. Guac is plain and tastes like it has sugar in it. Please don't get it. I will say though that my best friend and I have voted this place to have the best cheese dip out of all the Mexican restaurants in Auburn, so don't shy away from it. Chips are always good and the waitress makes sure you always have fresh chips. Food is always good and hot, and I definitely recommend this place to people. This is one of the two Mexican restaurants I eat at in Auburn. The tamales are always my go- to, and the rice for my side is never dry, which is easy to do. read more

Came back for a second time, this time with a larger group and was disappointed that it did not live up to the first visit. The refried beans were SO bland. I was shocked - I've never had such bland refried beans before, even when I make them at home straight out of the can! Everything was kind of bland - and regardless of what each of us ordered, we all felt the same way. My husband ordered a steak burrito of some kind and it was LITERALLY only steak. No onions, no veggies, no sauce of any kind inside. And it had an "off," "weird" taste to it. The chips and salsa were mediocre. There was nothing special or even DELICIOUS this visit and our go-to Mexican restaurant in the area will continue to be El Patron. read more
