My gay bestie recommended Z and who knows tailoring better than a gay man?! In all seriousness, Z…read morecan pretty much reconstruct nearly any garment and has a keen awareness on how clothing drapes and fits and will discourage any suggestions that will not work. She will also realistically tell you if something cannot be altered (haha- she teasingly told me when I asked what could be done for me to buy spanx and/ or lose 15 lbs but we have become friends so I thought it was hysertical and she was not wrong.. other than I thought it was actually closer to 20 lbs, lol). Her prices for both alterations and dry cleaning are very reasonable She is meticulous with her dry cleaning as well. For teenaged girls looking for cute, affordable prom dresses, she has a decent selection in back. She is loved by her loyal customers and she loves them back, even staying late to help people running behind schedule and will come to the shop as early as 4:00 am to work on alterations. Z runs a great business and is a lovely person to boot and it feels good to support a hard-working local business owner like her.

It's was FREEZING today, so I though it was time to finally wear my brand new, super-soft,…read morenot-particularly-inexpensive sweater. Not 5 minutes after I put it on, my puppy jumped up on me to play, and ended up biting a hole right in the middle of my chest. THIS IS WHY I CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!!! In addition to just being bummed about what happened, I am also heading to the mountains to ski tomorrow, and was planning on getting a lot of use out of my new sweater. Jeanne responded to a post I made on Facebook, looking for someone who might be able to fix the hole. I dropped the sweater to her asking if there was any way I could possibly get it fixed same-day. I had the sweater back in less than 2 hours, and unless you're looking for it, I really don't think you can notice the repair. Price was reasonable, especially considering the quick turnaround. Thanks, Jeanne! I will definitely be back!

When my miniature schnauzer decided to empty his bladder on my cotton/linen duvet containing my…read moredown comforter last Sunday at 2am, I hauled the two items over to Dependable Cleaners just down the street from my apartment first thing Monday morning. I explained the situation - the comforter was still wet and badly stained, including stains from a previous lifetime - and requested that it be dry cleaned and the duvet be laundered and pressed. The cost came to just under $100. When I picked up the items yesterday I was thrilled beyond words. The comforter was folded and packed into the same type of carrying bag it came in years ago (great for summer storage) and the duvet was pressed and hanging over a heavy-duty hanger. Not a hint of the stains anywhere, both exactly as fresh-looking as new. I just finished the 20-minute ordeal of replacing the comforter into the duvet - well worth the effort and out-of-pocket to have everything beautiful as new. Thank you, Dependable. Your name rings true.

In retrospect, I know more now and this is definitely what happened. Needed the old electric cord to be replaced. He said something to me when I picked up, but in retrospect it's just nuts that it wasn't part of the original job. I talked about this man Phil to another person. I now bring my machine to, and she said he's the reason she got into doing this repair thing herself. She had brought an old singer featherweight she had found at a flea market to him, told him as such. Imagine going to pick it up and seeing not her pristine and highly valuable machine, but an old clunker in its place. Fortunately, she had the foresight to take a photo of the serial number and prove he had swapped machines on her. So no, I don't recommend this store.
