I explained the situation - the comforter was still wet and badly stained, including stains from a previous lifetime - and requested that it be dry cleaned and the duvet be laundered and pressed. The cost came to just under $100. When I picked up the items yesterday I was thrilled beyond words. The comforter was folded and packed into the same type of carrying bag it came in years ago (great for summer storage) and the duvet was pressed and hanging over a heavy-duty hanger. Not a hint of the stains anywhere, both exactly as fresh-looking as new. I just finished the 20-minute ordeal of replacing the comforter into the duvet - well worth the effort and out-of-pocket to have everything beautiful as new. Thank you, Dependable. Second - the owner, Vassilis, REFUSED to reimburse me after I asked several times, came all the way back to prove my dress length, and had to wait while he checked cameras. I certainly did not rush out of the store. I was there over 15 minutes trying to reason with him. You can check your cameras to confirm. Dependable seems like a very solid dry cleaner. I haven't done a price comparison, but I am sure it is not the cheapest. However, their nighttime drop box is a godsend. I love that I can drop my bag in the middle of the night. They are also open seven days a week which is really helpful. The staff here are pleasant and I have not had any problems with my things being lost or ruined. I don't believe dry cleaners are miracle workers so I would be wary of trusting them with anything really important. One note is that the cost and turnaround time for a comforter is a little absurd. Apparently, they clean them off site and I think I paid $30 for a twin comforter and it took two weeks for it to come back. I think I will take my chances with my washer in the future. Otherwise, a great operation that keeps me looking put together.
