The Lansdowne Resort and Spa is a great property. It is so spacious and the offer so many things. I was there for an Indian Wedding which used their outdoor space, and multiple ball rooms. When we arrived we were taken back by the amount of land and the views. Also, it was maybe 5 min from our hotel which was great. They have plenty of parking and offer free electric car charging which is rare. At the resort they offer spa services, a full 18 hole golf course and pools. Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy those amenities but I am not opposed to returning to enjoy those amenities. It was a great time. I really enjoyed the property. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They really honored any request that we had and that was very much appreciated. If you are in the area I suggest you check them out. read more

I enjoyed this resort immensely. Parking was free, the rooms were spacious, the views are spectacular, and the food supplied for various events was amazing. Oh, and the staff... top notch from check-in, to bar service, to restaurant service, to supplying a bunch of conference goers with snacks and beverages. I ate my weight in Andes Candies during my 4 days here. The room was awesome! I slept soundly and the pillows were firm and held my dense skull nicely. Thanks for making sure they weren't super flat... it makes a huge difference in comfort. They also supplied GOOD bar soap. I'm a guy and use bar soap! This soap was one of the best and smelled wonderful and I would have sworn more as a kid if we had this at home. The conference areas were nice with lots of amenities for the attendees. The snacks were top notch, the coffee was actually good, and the soda pop machine was a nice touch. Did I mention Andes Candies? There were a few events on the Terrace and it held the group nicely, They had some awesome food with carved meats, upscale food, and they wrapped the beer bottle in a cocktail napkin... that's high class!!! It's not really walkable to anything nearby, but there are plenty of close places to drive and grab stuff for the room (I recommend Sheetz) and additional restaurants in the area. A girlfriend and I recently spent the day at Lansdowne Spa, and it was the perfect opportunity to slow down, relax, and disconnect from the demands of everyday life. (The sauna was closed during our visit, but there was still plenty to enjoy.) One of my favorite touches was the complimentary beverages and snacks. I stayed here since my friend booked me a one-night stay since it's next store to her condo and within a five minute walk. I discovered this is where the Washington Commanders stay during their pre-season football tryouts. The resort has two 18-hole golf courses that were built when the hotel was constructed in the early 1990's and are designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr and Greg Norman. In addition, there's also a 9 hole golf course. Amenities include a indoor and outdoor pool and a large well equipped fitness facility. The rooms are a bit dated but comfy and the staff are friendly and professional. The following morning we dined at the restaurant downstairs where we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The buffet includes cook to order eggs and omelets in addition to the full buffet. Breakfast was not included in my room rate and was around $30.00 per person. We come here every year for Washington Commanders training camp and we always have a great time. Highlights include a hike along the Potomac River, some time by the adult pool with cocktails, and wonderful service at Cotton and Rye. The staff, especially Bobby and the bartender are always great. He makes a great Maple Old Fashioned. The wings and charcuterie appetizer are our favorite. We do some shopping while we are here. The room we got this time has been our favorite so far. Good overall hotel and resort near Washington DC area that is just far enough outside the main hustle and congestion. Hotel felt a bit outdated but overall met the needs of my stay during a conference and having the top level Robert Trent Jones and Greg Norman golf courses were fantastic experience and great courses for both challenge and beauty of the courses. The RTJ course was in a bit better shape around the greens and plays a bit more open for the average golfer. Norman course provides more challenge and requires more accuracy with tougher rough and approach shots. Overall loved them both and the restaurant for the golf course had amazing Maryland crab soup. The staff around the resort were helpful and everywhere you would want them. Worth the visit when in the area. read more

We did have a hiccup where they gave our room to another party upon check in and we had to sleep in a double bed room for our anniversary weekend, but they made it up to us by putting us in a nicer room the following night. Resorts worry me sometimes. I'm not one that usually looks at resorts when I go to book a room. I mean, I get the concept, but if I go out of town, I'm there to explore. Not stay on property all the time. I did enjoy how much there was to do at this property, and if I was to come here for a work function, I would definitely not turn down a trip. Work was looking for a place to hold an upcoming small training. Lansdowne was on the list and we came out here to do a tour of the facilities. It was impressive when approaching, it is a massive complex that could keep you here for your duration. We explored everything here. From the conference spaces to the rooms. They have plenty of conference space and can handle several different events at one time. The rooms for meeting space are of various sizes and can accommodate any type of gathering you might need. It can be somewhat of a labyrinth in the event area. Booking an event here comes with packages. Which included meals and snacks throughout the day. There is also the A/V aspect which could be an extra cost. Restaurants onsite were OK, but might not tickle everyone's fancy. One place might placate people where it is kind of cafeteria style. The other two restaurants have set times to dine in. If golf is your thing, they have you covered. Not only do they have a course, they also have a driving range. If the spa is your thing, they also got you covered. If nature is your thing, you can definitely get your fill here. There are trails to traverse that will take you by the Potomac River and they offer bikes to use as well. The downsides here: -No shuttle to the airport (even with the close proximity) -Limited food options (unless you want to explore the nearby neighborhood) -Small convenience store/gift shop that doesn't offer much Also, you can see that they are making minor repairs here and there. You will see some areas that will need some TLC. read more

Coton & Rye was ok I had the miso glazed salmon...it was not glazed it was just a watery sauce poured over it. The carrots were good. Husband had a burger. It was a typical burger. The spa was ok, we got a couples massage. The massage was just ok. Usually I feel relaxed until the next day I don't. In order to use the spa amenities on the weekends, you have to book a service. You are able to use the amenities before and after your scheduled service. I was in Leesburg for work for a week, and because I have a serious soy allergy, I always have to be cautious when eating out. I don't see how this place is able to claim the title of 'resort.' It's shabby and outdated. Linens are rough and thin, and pillows have no shape. Air conditioner does not work, and that wasn't just our room (our friends complained of the same hot, stuffy room). It gets worse. The bathroom emitted an odor off and on that smelled like sewage. Shower was terrible, and on our second morning it wouldn't even turn on. The breakfast buffet was a mix of store bought items and egg mix. Super gross at a high cost of $25 per person. The only decent item was the made to order omelette. Everything else was inedible. Gym was the only part of the hotel that was decent, and their bartender made a great Sazerac. For those travelers who like their points, this hotel is not connected with any chain, nor have a point system. The rooms are a little dated but nice and clean. The property is beautiful and relaxing, offering many amenities. The restaurants on property are a coin flip as far as liking vs dislike. There are local restaurants off property that are nice. DO NOT PLAY GOLF HERE!!! hotel experience- great golf experience- horrendous. there were 3 separate incidents in one day on the golf course. 1. no range balls out for an late morning tee time- ridiculous when you pay $220 for 1 round. Staff was not accommodating when asking for range balls. 2. after we finished 9 holes, we wanted to grab some lunch at the shack on the way to 10. we got our food and after 7 minutes when we got back to number 10, a group had already been let through by the starter which was fine. We were on the tee and the starter actually let another group through while we were on the tee box. If you are a guest you absolutely get pushed to the side. 3. we were told that workers have the right away on the course. we had multiple experiences where we were waiting to hit shots because a worker was in the middle of the green and then were told that workers have the "right away" when players are waiting on shots. course was in ok condition but staff and maintenance crew failed. I'd rate the golf experience 1/10 solely because of the horrendous service. read more

I went to Spa Minerale for the last time yesterday. Value for price just isn't there. The actual massage was great. But the women's spa is always dirty. In the last few visits I have seen paper towels on the floor, dirty coffee cups strewn about, hair on the shower stall walls, and yesterday, there was someone's hairclip in the pocket of my robe! Disgusting to discover that. Plus, there are no doors on the dressing rooms, just moveable screens that get opened at your most nakedness. Last, it's not relaxing. Other guests don't seem to understand a spa is a quiet place. Even in the so-called "quiet room". Staff could remind folks it's a quiet zone, though I am surprised they would need to. My experience cost me $225 but felt like a $50 value. read more

I'm not a fan of paying for a deluxe king room and getting a small 2 double bed room for the same price. The lamp shades have cuts and stains on them. The curtains are stained too. They had to change the bed sheets, dried blood on them. Gross. The towels are like sandpaper. Have they ever been updated? The good about here - housekeeping ladies were nice when they came. They always had a smile and were very polite. The front desk staff were nice and helpful too. I guess you come here for the amenities like golfing or the spa. This was my first time visiting this resort and spa, and when I say that it was a fantastic experience, I mean it! My experience began weeks before arrival, with working. On reservations for lodging, dinner and spa services. The website is very helpful, user friendly and concise. I worked with Laura in reservations who was a delight and helped me as I attempted to make different types of reservations for a group of 6 ladies. Her coordination was spectacular. Upon our arrival, I was able to charge my EV, which was such a necessity and head to the front desk to check in. Danielle assisted me at the counter to check in for 4 rooms while the rest of the group strolled into the spa for their services-she made it effortless. I plan on making a separate review down the spa and the restaurant. Our accommodations were great! They were able to link our rooms adjacent to each other,allowing g for us to have our own private areas but to be able to join together when we wanted to. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, however I would say that having a tub and a walk-in shower was a minus for me. Also, it was unusual that there wasn't a pad or pen in the room. We could have used that amenity. The variety of restaurants and bars was beneficial if you do not want to leave the premises, however if you want to take a short ride, One Loudon has a ton of eateries and places for activities, or to exclude a year-round farmers market. All of the staff seemed to be very hospitable and knowledgeable about the resort, which was extremely helpful, as this was most of our first times there. I would recommend this resort and spa if you are looking for a reasonably-priced staycation. read more

Beautiful place and grounds. Should be 5 stars but the lack of maintenance and uninformed staff brings the place down. The general manager really needs to up the game. In a place this beautiful and expensive, the rooms should be clean, the tv shouldn't be glitching out, the shower should drain, the shower head should be tightened so it stays in place, the sink should drain, etc. Also, the staff should know what is going on each day and should be friendly and helpful. They shouldn't have the "I don't know, I just work here" attitude. We are optimistic this all will be improved and will be watching future yelps to see when it does. TL;DR - skip the hotel, just go to the spa and leave. The spa is probably the best thing about this place. The food is tasteless (had dinner at Cotton & Rye) and the service was extremely slow. We got water at the end of the dinner and I had to find a server to get the check. The person handling room service seemed bothered by my call. The listings for the food aren't accurate, I had to ask if cheese was in the quiche and what kind since it wasn't on the menu. When the person delivering room service came in, the walked all the way into the room past my partner where the bed was not asking if he could come inside. In my opinion, it's not much of a luxury resort. The service and experience is no better than a regular Hilton or Marriott. read more

After finally getting it to work (again only streaming from my phone) my expensive dinner was cold. No microwave in room so I had to go to the lobby store to reheat. Definitely not as enjoyable. We had our annual conference here last month. I was very impressed by the resort and staff that worked here. As soon as I arrived by Uber the staff assisted me with my bags and guided me to where I needed to go. At first impression the resort is very large and spacious. I loved the signage by the elevators which gave you a list of activities and classes that were going on during the day. The room that I was placed in was very comfortable. I had a good night's sleep on a comfortable bed. The only negative was the water pressure in the sink and shower. It was very low and not what I am used to at most hotels. The food I was served was average conference food which varied during the day. I did not take advantage of the amenities of the hotel. I did take a walk on the trails and passed the golf course. It was a little chilly when we arrived so we couldn't play a game. Overall, I had a good time at the Lansdowne Resort and Spa. I don't spend much time in northern Virginia so I don't know when I will be back next. I would like to come here during the warmer months when everything is back in action. I chose this hotel because it was highly recommended on several blogs for a girls weekend. The reservation staff was wonderful and went above and beyond. Upon checking in it felt a little aloof. Not much of a welcome or orientation of the hotel. The room itself was average. Very comparable to a Hampton Inn or Marriott definitely no upscale feel but definitely a higher room rate. We found fire pit seating areas by walking around. Those were very nice. The location is nice and it''s tucked away from traffic. We enjoyed the downtown Leesburg shops and restaurants. I explained when checking in that I had two out of state friends visiting and the clerk had no interest in hearing anything. What a different experience we would have had if he had offered to explain the amenities and told us about the fire pits, s'mores kits available in the shop, live music on Friday night, the different restaurant options, indoor and outdoor pools. Of course most of that is available on the website but a more personalized check in would really change the feel of the experience. He also didn't mention the hold on my credit card for the full fee and incidentals nor did he ask about my car details and the parking fee. All in all it was sufficient and clean but what a difference some customer service would have made. My hope is that management will see this and implement training to make other guests stays better. read more

I attended a harmony relaxation retreat here and it was phenomenal. My stay included a daily trip to the spa that was already schedule for me which included a bamboo circulation treatment along with an hour massage and the next a 80 minute massage with body scrub. Each day I was welcome to use the spa amenities before and after my service which included the sauna, steam room and hot tub. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all included in the retest package which also included wonderful aerobics classes which I enjoyed yoga each morning. The staff were pleasant and so helpful and whenever I had a question they were eager to get an answer. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will return. Great choice for a close getaway. We went for a last minute treat to ourselves before baby and it happened to be July 4th weekend. We originally picked this resort because it was close to home and we wanted to check out the spa. It was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprise to find out about the festivities the resort has in celebration of July 4th. Every year they have a fireworks show and there is a BBQ Feast and food trucks on their lawn for hotel guests only which made our stay more worthwhile! The resort is also family friendly! I would recommend - especially for 4th of july - just make sure to book early for both the spa and holiday weekend and invite family and friends with you to enjoy the fireworks! read more

I came to this resort by myself for a couple of days to get away for my birthday. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were friendly and checked me in very quickly. My package came with a bottle of wine, for which wine glasses were personally delivered to my room. Because of Covid restrictions, there were some services that were not back up running yet, like room service or Valet parking, but that's not something they could help. I rented a Cabana by the pool and it was a great luxury, however, if you're by yourself, like I was, it's an unnecessary expense, but fun all the same. The drinks at the poolside grill were great!! There was a drink that was served in a coconut, wonderful!!! The Piedmont's restaurant was a short walk and a part of the resort. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
