    French Toast breakfast with Bacon

This place is amazing. After spending a night here I can't wait to go back. Everyone is nice and it feels so cozy inside. The breakfast was wonderful as well. 10/10 recommend.

Oh my goodness. Every last detail of this place has been thought of and the charm is unmatched. My best friend and I were celebrating her birthday so we wanted somewhere special to stay after we spent the day wine tasting. Leslie and Wayne are so kind and helpful. The breakfast was beyond delicious (Leslie's donut holes were to die for)! There is a coffee bar, tea bar and fridge to keep your wine cold. I loved that there were so many places to lounge around and relax. We appreciated that this was a small B&B so everything feels very personal. I loved it so much I started looking at dates for my next trip before I had even left. Wow wow wow

Our stay at Stone Gables was by far one of the best decisions we have ever made. My fiancé and I stayed for a night while wedding venue hunting in the area. We genuinely wish we could have stayed longer because this B&B was perfect! The entire house was so adorable, clean, and cozy. The owners were easy to communicate with and incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was a perfect size, with the softest sheets and blankets! The room and entire house was incredibly clean and comfortable. Not to mention the breakfast in the morning was amazing!!! The hosts update the menu regularly and it was so unique and delicious! Also can't forget about Bear, the perfect pup addition to the house! We will absolutely be coming back and recommending to all of our friends!

My girlfriend took me here for an anniversary night away. It is such a lovely place. Tons of great touches... chairs on the lawn to linger in, s'more fixings for the fire pits, blankets in case you get chilly sitting out. The room was super comfortable. We had the suite--highly recommend it. Breakfast was wonderful. Wish we had stayed longer. The hosts are super nice. And their enormous puppy is adorable.

Stone Gables is by far the gold standard for B&Bs ... the cream of the crop. My wife Ruth and I have been to several very nice B&Bs over the past 30+ years, but none of them come close to the elegance and pristine accommodations offered at Stone Gables. The owners, Wayne and Leslie Tharp, are beyond amazing. They make you feel like family from the very first minute you meet them. The Inn itself is very charming and cozy, with many rooms and nooks available to congregate with others or to relax and read a book. Homemade cookies, snacks and beverages are always available. Everything is extremely clean, spotless and bright. The guest rooms are gorgeous and have very comfortable mattresses to allow for a great night's sleep. Then there is THE BREAKFAST ... Oh My Goodness! We have never experienced any breakfast this delicious. They offer five or six different options every morning, each of which is to die for. Everything is fresh, homemade and cooked to order. The bottom line is that Wayne and Leslie put their hearts into everything that they do and truly want you to thoroughly enjoy your stay with them. They are remarkable people and the real charm at Stone Gables.

Amazingly restorative midweek visit to this charming, lovely B and B. Much more like an intimate inn, complete with full breakfast, homemade cookies, beverages, snacks, and lovely nooks for social distancing if needed. Stayed in the main suite surrounded by dramatic stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and a bed that felt like heaven. Rest and quiet very night. Proprietors Leslie and Wayne are gracious hosts and superb cooks. Clearly they enjoy what they do and made every effort to make sure I enjoyed my time as a solo traveler. Breakfast highlights include Mr. Wayne's blueberry pancakes, crepes stuffed with spinach, cheese and ham, and scones drizzled with cream cheese frosting. Highly recommend for close proximity to Leesburg and surrounding Loudon County.

My husband and I had the most amazing weekend at Stone Gables! Leslie and Wayne were the most hospitable, warm and accommodating hosts, we felt like we were visiting family! They provided great recommendations on where to go wine tasting and eat in Town. The rooms are beautifully decorated, beds extremely comfortable and each room has a full bathroom. We really felt like we had privacy. Breakfast was delicious, five star both mornings. The decor is almost Tuscan farmhouse, and the attention to detail throughout he house was ON POINT. They have many places to convene including a fully stocked game room and library with vinyl music and tons of books. One more cool feature- the driveway cobblestones are from Yankee Stadium! We will definitely be back!

It's our 4th wedding anniversary and decided to travel locally. I found this bed and breakfast online. What a gem the location is beautiful. When we arrived the host gave us a tour and homemade cookies. We had plenty of snack options and water. The place was beautiful and romantic. Breakfast the next day wow it was awesome. Plenty of food options and warm homemade cinnamon buns. We're definitely coming back thanks so much!!!!

    Bedroom Chandelier... so cool!

We were in town for my son's wedding and loved our stay at Stone Gables. The rooms are large and comfortable, and so cute!! Breakfast was homemade and delicious!! And Leslie and Wayne are the most gracious hosts!! It was so nice to have large spaces for our family to gather after the wedding activities of the day--it was just like being home. We will definitely be going back!

We were in…read moretown for a family reunion and hosted a dinner party at SMI one evening that was among the highlights of the family weekend. Manisha and Prashsant, owners of Stone Manor Inn, were personally involved in making sure all went smoothly with our cocktail and dinner party, and it most certainly did! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. I'm not sure when we will return to the area, but when we do, we will not hesitate to return!

I was on the fence to book this place given its hefty price tag, and glad I went for it and completely agree with the glowing 5 star reviews. The bubbly host Manisha is very warm and welcoming. She cordially gave us a 20 min tour around the property, which was built in 1908, and even gave me a bonus tour of the other rooms afterwards. She kindly answered all of our questions and didn't rush us. The Peacecock Room is the most spacious and best room (aside from the bridal suite), elaborately decorated in peacocks. We loved it! The little touches like the handmade soap, a set of wine glasses, and a wine opener made the stay so memorable and special. While the rooms aren't temperature controlled, the electric flameless fireplace kept the room warm. The double capacity jacuzzi was perfect for my hubby and I and even had lights (some of the other rooms have smaller jacuzzi, so be sure to check). The rooms were clean minus a couple of lady bugs and stink bugs (which is too be expected out in the country). Dr. Fauci's assistant stayed here and Manisha informed us of the extensive sanitation process, even the pillows and decorations are quarantined for 6 days! The backyard is well groomed and really spacious with a nice patio and heat lamp, which kept us warm sitting outside in the frigid winter. Our dog loved running around! You can see the stars and constellations really well. It would make a great wedding venue! The Christmas decorations around the property are really nice. The owners really go the extra mile and put a lot of TLC into the property. The 6 course breakfast is delicious and bursting with flavor. Between the veggie quiche, cheesy potatoes, scone, pancakes, yogurt, and fresh OJ, I was stuffed! The fresh butterscotch scone was divine and devoured my mine and my hubby's! The cheesy potato had a nice spicy kick. Everything was so fresh and delicious. All the courses come out at once on a large tray. While my hubby and I chose to sit at the communal table (the chairs are roughly 6 feet apart), you can take the tray up to your room. Manisha and her family greeted us and thoroughly explained the dishes and chatted with us for a bit, even her son made an appearance! The bed and breakfast has a nice bar with wine, cider, and alcohol based on an honor code system. Water and soda is complementary, they even had Coke 0! The complementary fudgy brownies by the breakfast area during the day were sweet and tasty. Again the little complimentary stuff gives this bed and breakfast a nice resort feel. Very relaxing stay and looking forward to coming back!

They are now a vacation house rental; only one group can occupy the house at a time. We were a group of four who visited Pembroke Springs Retreat in the middle of August. Because we were the only group in the house, we took full advantage of the baths. There's nothing more relaxing than a full soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters. They offer one meal per day if you rent all five rooms; we only rented three rooms. But that gave us access to their amazing kitchen. They have fresh mountain water which tasted smoother than any city water and made incredible green tea and coffee. On checking in, we spoke to Lisa over the phone who was very helpful and friendly. Because of COVID, everything was over the phone. But Lisa answered any questions we had immediately. We were also happy to meet some of the dogs. :D

From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting and calm, elegant setting create a true retreat feeling--relaxing, intimate, and perfectly set up for an unforgettable dinner. We started with the baked brie, and it was the perfect opener. Warm, creamy, and beautifully rich, it had that comforting, indulgent feel without being too heavy. It was the kind of appetizer that makes you pause after the first bite and think, "Okay, this is going to be special." We also shared a salad that was far better than any "starter salad" has a right to be. The greens were crisp and fresh, but the real surprise was the croutons--light, buttery, and so tender they practically melted in your mouth. Every bite felt balanced, simple in the best way, and clearly made with care. For the main course, we ordered the chicken under brick and the scallops risotto, and both were genuinely memorable. The chicken under brick had a beautifully crisp exterior, with juicy, tender meat underneath--full of flavor and cooked exactly right. The scallops were seared perfectly, with that delicate golden crust and soft, buttery center. Paired with the creamy risotto, it felt luxurious and comforting at the same time. It was the kind of dish you keep talking about afterward because it is that good. Dessert somehow raised the bar even more. The chocolate tart was rich, smooth, and deeply satisfying--pure indulgence. The fruit tart was fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced, with a delicate crust and vibrant flavors that made it feel light and refreshing after such an incredible meal. Both desserts were truly delicious and the perfect ending. The service matched the food and atmosphere: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Every interaction made the night feel even more special, and it never felt rushed--just warm and thoughtful from start to finish. And a special mention to our waitress, Rae--the most pleasant, kind, accommodating, and positive soul you can find. Her smiling welcome immediately put us at ease and made us feel so happy to be there. She truly elevated the entire experience. If I can give this place seven stars, I would!
