Most languages are online classes on zoom. They have English speaking classes and Spanish classes online. There's no pressure to complete the homework or even attend class. Each lesson is clear, engaging, and tailored to the students' pace, making even tricky grammar concepts feel approachable. Alex did a wonderful job at explaining the language in a way that feels natural and conversational, while also giving students the structure we need to build a solid foundation. I love how practical the lessons are -- every class left me feeling more confident about speaking, reading, and understanding Italian. What makes Alex stand out is the perfect balance of professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm. He brings Italian to life with cultural insights, everyday expressions, and plenty of encouragement. I genuinely look forward to every session and can already see major progress in my vocabulary and fluency. If you're serious about learning Italian (and having fun while doing it), I can't recommend PLC highly enough. PS -- Grazie mille, Alex.

I am writing my review here because I see some negative reviews of this institute, and those reviews are not true. The negative reviews even do not explain why the school is bad. I am telling you here why Poly is a great place to "start" learning English. I know a lot of students have passion for fluent English skills, but there are always "steps". It is true that Poly do not teach "a college level English skills". However, it is also true that "you do not need a college level English skills" before you transfer to a college because the college wants you to learn the advance skills in their education system. Poly is just helping students to "prepare" the college level English. So, be patient and don't get freaked out. To describe the atmosphere of the Pasadena campus, I have to mention about this: the school has extremely friendly staffs, Max and Nataly. They always make a smile on their face, and love to joke with their student. They continuously put their efforts on improving supports on their student. As a result, I see they have recently built a spacious student lounge which did not exist in 2011. In addition, Poly provides a TOEFL class, which is for the students who seek for an advance level class. Lastly, make your sentence simple and clear when you have a question to your teacher. The teacher won't "ignore" you. The instructor just cannot fully "understand" your questions. If you make your sentence clear enough, the teacher will answer you. You also should show your respect on your teacher as a student. Because I attended Poly, I was able to transfer to a college, and was able to make more friends in this country. I personally appreciate to Poly for those my personal achievements. Poly may not a place to satisfy your expectation 100%, but is the right place to "start" your English journey.

They are incredibly talented, caring, and passionate about teaching children-not only foundational academic skills like reading and math, but important life skills such as cleaning up after themselves, problem solving, independence and responsibility. I truly feel like we found a treasure in IMA. Although I am sad my first child's time there is coming to an end, I am incredibly grateful for the educational foundation he has received. I know the skills, confidence and love of learning he has developed at IMA will have a lasting impact throughout his life. Thank you, Mrs. Sollito for such an exceptional job of creating an environment where children feel safe, loved, supported and excited to learn. If you're looking for a school where the owners and staff are 120% dedicated to creating a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for your children, you've found it. Their kindness, patience, and genuine passion for what they do are evident every single day, and those values naturally rub off on the children. We truly believe our kids are more kind, empathetic, and confident because of the environment IMA created. We feel incredibly fortunate that both of our children were able to attend IMA. The fact that they prioritize siblings during enrollment was also a huge blessing for our family. The teachers and staff are simply wonderful. They consistently go above and beyond, especially during the summer program. Every week is filled with exciting activities like petting zoos, magic shows, carnival days, pony rides, and so much more. You can tell how much effort goes into making each event special with all the decorations, treats, and thoughtful details for both the children and their families. As working parents, we also found tremendous value in their extended early drop-off and late pick-up hours. It gave us much-needed flexibility, and our kids genuinely enjoyed being there, even if it's past 8 hours. Having them in the same program year-round (with scheduled holidays) made life so much easier and helped keep our family's routine consistent. We also felt the tuition was an incredible value for everything the school provides. More importantly, every interaction with the staff was met with understanding, warmth, and genuine care. They always made us feel like part of the IMA family. We will truly miss IMA and everyone there. Our children were incredibly lucky to grow up in such a nurturing environment, and we will always be grateful for the love, support, and unforgettable memories they gave our family. We wholeheartedly recommend IMA to any family looking for an exceptional Montessori school. It has been one of the best decisions we've made for our children.

Note that we were interested in the Mandarin program, so my observations shared here are mainly based on that aspect. This model should be replicated nationwide. Growing up, my parents had to choose between a public German immersion school and our local parochial school. They prioritized faith, which was the right call, but at All Souls, parents don't have to make that compromise--you get both! Dr. Allison is the principal, and after multiple conversations, it was clear how much he "gets it." He has an extensive background in education, and seems like exactly the person you would trust in charge of a growing and thriving school like this. He instills confidence. We met with teachers, parents, and staff, and everyone is kind and the teachers seem like great educators. The classes have very good teacher-to-student ratios. The weekly schedule is better than essentially all other schools, including early release on Fridays (perfect time to schedule doctor appts, dental appts, music lessons, etc.) and Mass only every other week (which is smart because it doesn't burn the kids out on it). Also, it is a very food-allergy-friendly school, with no nut/peanut classrooms TK-2 just to name one thing. For anyone weighing the benefits of language immersion against a faith-based environment, All Souls proves you really can have both without compromise.

The current principal works hard. I think the Spanish program is still decent but academically this school is behind public schools. A lot of kids leave needing intervention or tutoring unless your kid is academically way ahead. I love the small class sizes and loving environment but we left due to the huge teacher turnover resulting in some grades with terrible teachers. If they beef up the academics a bit there may be hope.
