It's play based, the teachers are the most caring & loving, and the environment is so much fun! They have so many varied activities & crafts, the kids never do the same thing twice. And the director, Danielle, is such an angel. Every morning she greets all the families. She's so involved and invested with all the kids. She steps in with classes when the teachers need her, she's a gem! The school also has an amazing selection of after school classes that my daughter loved! From ceramics to sports, your child will find a class that interests them! And our teacher, Miss Miriam was so amazing with the kids. She gave really personalized parent teacher conferences that showed she really knew the kids. Highly recommend for anyone in the local community to send their kids here. You won't regret sending your children to this beautiful community!

The teachers are all very nice, caring, helpful, communicative and friendly. Each classroom has a different color door, which is a fun way to differentiate and identify them. There are lesson plans for each day written on a board outside the classroom, which helps keep parents informed. There is very good communication between the teachers and parents, as well as from the parent board to other parents. The classroom sizes are small, and there are a few teachers per class, resulting in a very low ratio of students-to-teachers, with lots of personal attention. There is tons of fun and exploratory play for the children, some music days, and the children are always coming home with new arts/crafts type of things from fun projects. So much more than just a preschool; LCFCC really helps children and parents be part of a community!

I strongly believe in the schools foundational curriculum of play based learning. My daughter truly enjoys learning because of the fun atmosphere they've created around it. Nothing is forced, curiosity is nurtured, and they are free and independent to explore what they want to. The teachers are all so warm and kind, they really make preschool feel like a second home not to just my daughter but myself included. Picking up my daughter with my youngest has become one of our favorite things to do everyday because we feel so welcomed and the environment is always bustling with activities and laughter. The staff is incredible. They've always taken such great care of my daughter even during her toughest moments, she was never scolded or punished, they've always taken a kind and gentle approach which I really appreciate and helped my daughter work through some tough times. Especially miss Conny, she not only kept me updated with what my daughter was working through, but gave me tips, shared personal experiences, and was just there as a friend when I had those tough mornings. This school is an absolute treasure.

It is of no surprise that they would make this transition so seamless, the teachers have been so nurturing since day one. It speaks volumes when your little one is very excited to go to school Monday morning and shares all the excitement of a school day. We couldn't be more grateful for our daughter's preschool, it's been a big part of her life and we are looking forward to when our 2nd little one could attend in the fall. We know that one day they will look back and remember Parents & Children's fondly just like their father does, as he was fortunate enough to attend Parents and Children's during his pre-K years. The fact that we are a multi-general Parents and Children's family evidences the educational, healthy, and happy experience they will create for your kids. P.S. they make THE best art projects and sensory activities!

Our son had involvement in some early start programs, a mix of nanny's and babysitters, but little to bring him out of his shell. On a recommendation, we enrolled him at Flintridge. We witnessed our son flourish, socially blossom into a far more gregarious and enthusiastic participant in play, and embrace his weekend extracurriculars with more vigor and attention. I assumed at first this was just the result of more socialization, but the more time I spent with the teachers on this small campus, I realized it was the result of their curriculum, compassion, and genuine interest in each child's success. My wife and I found ourselves shocked when our once shy wallflower took front stage of a school recital and pantomimed a song and dance we never once rehearsed at home, unbeknownst to us but no less welcome. We had every opportunity to involve ourselves in the day-to-day of the class without any news or emails feeling overbearing. Pick Up and Drop Off was always pleasant, and the fellow parents we met felt like community. I say without hyperbole that I will truly miss Flintridge Montessori, and recommend it to any parent and child without reservation. An extra shoutout to Ms Joyce, Ms Melo, Ms Karly, but much love to all of the wonderful staff.

When it came time to send my other child to pre-school, I without a doubt, wanted to send him to FMS. They both competed their toddler through TK/K program. At FMS, their teaching style is the Montessori method. It is well balanced with social, academic, hands-on learning, then they add in workbooks as they get older. The classrooms are always clean and organized, never cluttered. They have "toys" for learning, which are kid accessible, on low shelves, easy for them to reach. I like their play yard. They have age-appropriate play structure, sand pit, tricycles, rock climbing wall. I like that you can visibly see every part of the yard from the classroom locations. Many of the teachers have been there over 5, 10, 15+ years. Special shout out to Ms. Joyce (curriculum director /lead teacher), Ms. Melo, Ms. Hilda (lead teacher), - who are in the pre-school classes and they taught both my kids. Along with the other FLM teachers, they are all caring, nurturing, welcoming to my kids. Every morning, you will see them working 1:1 with the kids on their letters, numbers, lifecyles of a plant; while other kids are playing with their Montessori toys or doing an activity with the other teachers. They even had an incubator to let the student watch fertilized eggs develop and hatch while learning about biology and life cycles. My younger child went onto the TK/K class, he was taught by Ms. Jasmine (lead teacher) and Ms. Karly. Every morning, like the other classes, she is always so happy to see my child, providing me updates on his development. She too, working 1:1 with each child. By the end of TK, he was able read full sentences, do 1st grade level workbooks, solve simple math and subtraction problems, and name the state capitols. He is WAY more than ready to go into Kinder! Other highlights that I liked about the school are the showcases, held every holiday and spring, in which each class puts on an amazing performance organized by the teachers. The kids will perform several songs with choreography. I look forward to these every year. Potty training offered at the school was immensely beneficial. They made it so easy. After school care is another reason that I choose FMS. All the after school teachers are kind, playing and reading with the kids. They have a variety of days/hours/plans to choose from based on your needs. For working parents, this is very important. They are open even when other schools are closed for most winter and summer breaks. They are only closed for teacher trainings and holidays. Extracurricular after school activities is offered there for an additional, nominal fee. They have soccer shots, dance classes, art classes, and Ms. Joyce offers Mandarin classes. They offer summer camp, with themed weeks, and specialized events for the school year and summer, ie. reptile show, petting zoo, pony rides, bubble show, visiting the fire station next door, Doctor/Dentist /JPL career lessons. With Ms. Taylor managing administrative duties, I have seen a such an improvement on clear, concise communication to the parents, sharing information, keeping track of any payments and record keeping, like office stuff. She is so organized and pleasant to work with. The Director, Ms. Rohini, has been instrumental to this school, from hiring a strong team of teachers and maintaining a childcare & learning community we are happy to be part of. We are so sad to leave, but they prepared my kids for their next stage in life while teaching them to become good human beings. I love this school and especially love the teachers. EVERYONE there deserves raises!

As both of our kids move on to new schools after this summer, we are incredibly grateful for the love, care, and support they have received from their teachers at Foothill Progressive Montessori. The school uses the Brightwheel app, which is a great tool for parents overall. One of the highlights is the regular communication and updates on your child's progress, along with plenty of photos. It is easy to stay connected and look back at special moments from their time at school. Even as our kids move on, they will continue to return for summer programs, which they love. The school has a pool, and the kids swim twice a week, with the option to enroll in professional swim lessons. If you are looking for a year-round school or a summer program in the La Canada area, I highly recommend Foothill Progressive Montessori.

It was wonderful to see the children come together like one big family--greeting each other warmly and saying goodbye as a group. We truly enjoyed all the creative art projects Ms. Emma introduced to the classroom, along with her gentle approach. There was never any pressure or hostility if a child chose not to participate in an activity, just gentle support. My son was introduced to STEM activities and did creative projects like transforming the classroom into an entire farm or a market. It was so hard to move to Pre-K, however, Ms. Veronica helped him blossom academically and socially. She is truly incredible!! We have seen our son transform and grow. He now communicates and plays well with peers. He has shown tremendous progress in academics under Ms. Veronica's guidance. She provided us with daily updates good and bad. We celebrated milestones and achievements and worked on issues together. As a parent, you're kept informed of all activities. Every month a calendar is shared marking the daily activities. In Ms. Veronica's class, each week was focused on the letter of the week and all the activities were based on the letter. This was incredibly helpful as we would continue it at home. What immediately impressed us is RN's incredible Director, Ms. Rosalie. She always has the warmest smile and knows about every single child and what occurred during the day. I'm not sure how she does it, but she stays involved and extremely supportive of all families. Her attention and compassion is what makes RN so special. On top of that, she makes the most amazing banana and zucchini bread!! It is true that they say it takes a village and RN has become our village! All the teachers at RN are incredible. They are friendly and always there to help. The kids engage in so many different activities ranging from baking to sports. In terms of details, they have a great balance of outside and inside activities. Parents can choose to pack a lunch or order from their easy menu. Parents pack a snack and I found this most helpful because I could monitor what my child ate. We are so grateful to Robbin's Nest and would recommend it 10/10 for the care, growth, and confidence it brings to children and families alike. I highly recommend to all our friends and family for the incredible experience we have had. It is really hard to move into the next chapter as we start elementary, but with the help of Ms. Veronica and Ms. Rosalie, we are ready to move forward.
