We found GCS what feels like randomly and a bit circuitously, but I feel so lucky and grateful to have landed here! First of all, there are surprisingly few programs that offer care for kids under 18 months, so I really appreciate that they have an infant class. Our daughter started at 12 months and is now 19 months, and she has learned so much and flourished at GCS in that short amount of time. The school has consistently been incredibly accommodating and flexible to our family's needs. The teachers are genuinely sweet, warm, and caring, and it's clear how much they love the kids. Zara, the director, is wonderful -- so kind, personable, and lovely to interact with, and it really makes a difference to feel that level of care and openness from leadership. Our daughter loves her teachers and is clearly absorbing so much from her environment. Mrs Rose, the lead of the Koala class, has been so great! Our daughter will come home acting out or trying to sing songs she learned at school, and it's obvious that what she experiences during the day really stays with her. She also looks up to the older kids in her class, and we've been told she's gentle with the younger ones -- which is so sweet to hear. She's getting stimulation, structure, and social development that we definitely couldn't have matched or replicated at home. GCS has given her such a strong foundation during a really important stage of her life. Another thing I really appreciate is how thoughtful they are around food. GCS was one of the only schools we found that would refrigerate and heat up lunches, which made it much easier and more pleasant to prepare good, healthy lunches every day. We've since switched to their lunch program though, which offers a rotating menu of daily home-cooked, nutritious food -- and our daughter LOVES it. She regularly finishes her portions and asks for seconds. Sometimes you can smell the food cooking during drop-off, and it smells amazing! We are unfortunately transitioning out for reasons unrelated to our experience here, and it's so so hard to leave. I'm really sad about it. We are going to miss GCS and the community so much, and we're incredibly grateful for the care, growth, and love they've given our daughter. This place is a gem! read more

Hands down, this is the best school in Glendale. Our daughter started here at just 18 months old, and now at 3, we're incredibly grateful to have found this place. From day one, we felt the love, care, and intention behind everything they do. This school provides a nurturing, safe, and genuinely loving environment. Safety is our top priority: the children are closely supervised, the environment is secure, and it's clear how deeply the staff cares about each child's well-being. The teachers are incredibly(!)--I can't stress it enough--patient and intentional, never taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Our daughter is seen and supported as an individual, with teachers taking the time to understand her needs and personality. A special thank you to Zara, whose calm and caring energy has made a huge difference in our daughter's growth. Another thing we really appreciate is the school's teaching philosophy. They blend Montessori methods with Piaget's critical thinking principles to create a child-led curriculum centered around what they call the 5 C's--critical thinking, communication, compassion, creativity, and collaboration. While academics are part of the program, what matters most to us is how our child is learning. She's already developing strong problem-solving skills, learning to communicate her emotions, work through challenges, and care for her friends--skills that will serve her far beyond the classroom. At just three years old, our daughter knows her numbers and letters, speaks two languages, and is learning her third (Spanish). GCC is very supportive of multilingual families and offers language options like Armenian and Spanish. We're so lucky to have found this school. Our toddler was at GCS from 11 months to 26 years old before we left for reasons unrelated to the school. She was thrilled to go to school that whole time, and was able to transition to the 2's class easily enough with the normal adjustment period. All the kids seem happy and well-cared-for there. My son has been going to GCS for two months when he was 19 months old. We couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll him, specially after interviewing & talking to so many other schools. Luckily we found this place through my husband who installed their water filters! Advantages: -Low child to staff ratio is very important for us, it's almost like getting the 1:1 attention at home & when you have an active toddler who constantly needs attention you emphasize this even more. -High security visible during drop offs and pick ups: you pay what you get for. -Also starting your child early on care outside home is nerve racking but they made his transition so smooth!! -Communication is priceless, they have an app called Procare where we get daily messages about how their day is going or texting directly with director, Ms Zara. We also get weekly newsletter of what they're learning each week through email. -He comes home to a load of artwork & this fills my heart with joy knowing how much he enjoys coloring + crafts. Learning even basic math and counting has been fun for him and tons of sensory activities. -Despite having so many kids the place is clean and they keep toys organized. I have emphasized extra hand washing and glad that they follow directions carefully. After much searching for a preschool that was centered on the children, clean, and one that gave us peace of mind... we found Glendale Children's and we feel so lucky and grateful! My son (now 4) has learned so much in a short amount of time! Ms. Zara (who apparently has has a long career in teaching) is extremely knowledgeable in child psychology and learning. She is often orchestrating STEM activities and projects that foster deep learning and promote creativity. In addition, Ms. Zara and staff spend time getting to know each child and identifying their strengths and areas of opportunity so that that can play off your child's strengths and interests while helping your kiddo overcome their challenges... in a fun way! Speaking of fun, my son LOVES school. Often times at pick-up, he asks me wait in my car for 20 mins or so (he insists on "a few more mins) so that he can wrap up the afternoon activity... lol it's funny to see him not want to come home even after a long day at school! One last thing (can you tell that I love this place?), if you are like me and cleanliness is a top priority... i will say besides the decor being fun and aesthetically pleasing...the rooms are always so clean and well maintained. Our child has been attending Glendale Children's School for a couple months now and we are so happy with our experience so far. As a first-time parent of a young toddler, I thought it was going to be nearly impossible to find a daycare that would fit all our needs. We are so happy to have found GCS! First off, the staff is absolutely incredible. They are kind, nurturing, and extremely helpful. They made the initial transition into daycare as smooth as possible for our child and for us. They are communicative and receptive to any concerns or requests we may need. The staff's dedication to my child's safety and physical and emotional wellbeing is clearly evident. The facility is amazing. Just the right size we were looking for as far as number of children and teachers to care for them. We were looking for something larger than an at-home establishment but nothing too big and overwhelming for our child who is being exposed to care outside the home for the first time. Everything is so clean and organized. They have books and toys and activities. We love the large indoor classrooms as well as the spacious outdoor play area. We love that all the teachers know all the kids, regardless of that class they are in. It's a very welcoming environment and we feel comfortable knowing we are leaving her in great hands each day. We love the education they provide. Our child's vocabulary and sentence structure has made huge leaps in just a short amount of time. They communicate the upcoming week's curriculum well so we can reinforce what they learn when we are at home. They do countless activities that keep the children interested and constantly learning. Most importantly, each day our child comes home happy and excited about what they did that day. Lastly, the prices and fees are reasonable. We scouted a ton of daycares in the area and nothing compared to what we found at GCS in terms of value for the cost. WOW! Prior to going... I called and made an appointment to see Mrs. Zara for a tour (walk around) of the school for my two boys... she was so kind to explain all the questions I had in mind. Once I got there she greeted us so lovingly that it took all the pressure away from being worried at what the staff or facility would be like. Can I say... WOW... the school is GORGEOUS! This place is brand new; fully renovated and up to date on all the necessities my two boys would need to learn in a great environment. I loved how there were sections where kids can explore and learn different criteria's hands on. The staff/teachers were so nice my boys felt at home. I loved how there were different backgrounds of nationalities that we felt welcomed in every way. The playground is breathtaking and most of all safe (which my main concern was). Mrs. Zara even mentioned that she has meals (for lunch time) cooked for the kids if we were interested... I loved it even more, less work for me to think about. Lol My boys loved it so much we signed up with the meal option which consists of healthy foods my boys need to grow big and strong. Best choice my husband and I made. Very good and caring either way the kids, their meals are amazing if you choose to go that route and the communication is top tier with their app. I really don't know where we'd be without their help. A very friendly and kind staff, they really go out of their way to help the kids. They also let us have our speech therapist stop by twice a week to have a session with our child.
