First of all, there are surprisingly few programs that offer care for kids under 18 months, so I really appreciate that they have an infant class. Our daughter started at 12 months and is now 19 months, and she has learned so much and flourished at GCS in that short amount of time. The school has consistently been incredibly accommodating and flexible to our family's needs. The teachers are genuinely sweet, warm, and caring, and it's clear how much they love the kids. Zara, the director, is wonderful -- so kind, personable, and lovely to interact with, and it really makes a difference to feel that level of care and openness from leadership. Our daughter loves her teachers and is clearly absorbing so much from her environment. Mrs Rose, the lead of the Koala class, has been so great! Our daughter will come home acting out or trying to sing songs she learned at school, and it's obvious that what she experiences during the day really stays with her. She also looks up to the older kids in her class, and we've been told she's gentle with the younger ones -- which is so sweet to hear. She's getting stimulation, structure, and social development that we definitely couldn't have matched or replicated at home. GCS has given her such a strong foundation during a really important stage of her life. Another thing I really appreciate is how thoughtful they are around food. GCS was one of the only schools we found that would refrigerate and heat up lunches, which made it much easier and more pleasant to prepare good, healthy lunches every day. We've since switched to their lunch program though, which offers a rotating menu of daily home-cooked, nutritious food -- and our daughter LOVES it. She regularly finishes her portions and asks for seconds. Sometimes you can smell the food cooking during drop-off, and it smells amazing! We are unfortunately transitioning out for reasons unrelated to our experience here, and it's so so hard to leave. I'm really sad about it. We are going to miss GCS and the community so much, and we're incredibly grateful for the care, growth, and love they've given our daughter. This place is a gem!

From day one, we felt the love, care, and intention behind everything they do. This school provides a nurturing, safe, and genuinely loving environment. Safety is our top priority: the children are closely supervised, the environment is secure, and it's clear how deeply the staff cares about each child's well-being. The teachers are incredibly(!)--I can't stress it enough--patient and intentional, never taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Our daughter is seen and supported as an individual, with teachers taking the time to understand her needs and personality. A special thank you to Zara, whose calm and caring energy has made a huge difference in our daughter's growth. Another thing we really appreciate is the school's teaching philosophy. They blend Montessori methods with Piaget's critical thinking principles to create a child-led curriculum centered around what they call the 5 C's--critical thinking, communication, compassion, creativity, and collaboration. While academics are part of the program, what matters most to us is how our child is learning. She's already developing strong problem-solving skills, learning to communicate her emotions, work through challenges, and care for her friends--skills that will serve her far beyond the classroom. At just three years old, our daughter knows her numbers and letters, speaks two languages, and is learning her third (Spanish). GCC is very supportive of multilingual families and offers language options like Armenian and Spanish. We're so lucky to have found this school. We know that our daughter is in a safe and loving environment where she's building a strong foundation. Highly, highly recommend!

Their curriculum builds confidence, curiosity, and joy, and our boys came home excited to share what they learned. NextGen sparked in both of them a deep love for learning, creating, and exploring. They learned how to express and advocate for themselves, respect others' space, and understand that everything--from routines to rules--has a purpose. We also truly appreciated the warm family community we've gotten to know over the years--many, like us, returning to enroll younger siblings. NextGen set a strong foundation for our kids to be successful in their next chapter--we see this in our eldest son who is still thriving as a second grader. Thank you, Zara and the amazing team, for creating such a beautiful and inspiring place.

I'll begin by stating the obvious: finding someone to take care of your baby is not easy. I met…read moreLinda when I was pregnant with my first child while taking a walk around the neighborhood. Linda was, by chance (and luck), outside her home. She was friendly and introduced herself and her daycare. Being a FTM, I had no idea that good daycares get booked up quickly, so I didn't bother following up until after my son was born. That was probably one of the bigger mistakes I made as a new mom. When I reached out to enroll my son, her daycare was already full. Through a long and unpleasant process of trial and error, which involved enrolling and taking my son out of three different daycares for a variety of reasons (e.g., high staff turnover, too many illnesses or accidents, napping my then 18 month old at 3pm daily, etc), I finally found a preschool that fit. I wised up with my second child and enrolled my daughter with Linda during my first trimester. Having toured almost every infant care (both larger operations and smaller, in-home ones) and a sizeable number of preschools in the La Crescenta/La Canada/Montrose area, I can say with confidence that enrolling your little one at Miss Linda's Little Sprouts is *the best* choice you can make as a parent for your child. Some highlights of my experience with Miss Linda's Little Sprouts: 1. Linda has decades of experience and is a genuine, kind and friendly individual. She only accepts 4 children max and because of this small ratio, I can see that she's formed trusting bonds with each of the children. My daughter never cries when she goes to daycare, reaching out eagerly for Linda in the mornings. Linda has provided a safe and nurturing environment for my daughter, and I 100% trust her. 2. Linda really works with you as a parent to accommodate your wants and your child's needs. For example, while other infant cares would not allow me to bring food for my child in glass containers, she never had such a policy (trying to limit BPA exposure here!). My daughter has had trouble gaining weight and Linda is diligent in making sure she eats, including taking the time to spoon feed my daughter most of her meals. Linda and I share similar philosophies with respect to sleep/naps; since going to Linda's, my daughter has been able to fall asleep without assistance and generally sleeps through the night. Linda also sends me texts, photos, and/or updates throughout the day. She's also so helpful - my baby bottles and food containers are always washed before pickup! 3. The daycare is *clean*, which is so important to me. While my son was sick basically every other week when he started infant care, my daughter rarely got sick here. 4. Linda runs a fun and age-appropriate program for the kids. They always seem entertained and to be enjoying the various toys she provides. Linda sometimes takes them into her backyard on sunny days for mini water and other outdoor adventures and regularly plans fun art projects for them. She talks and sings with the kids, and my daughter knows and can say many words, including animal names and noises, colors, numbers, etc. Final note regarding the one negative review, this was not representative of my experience at Linda's daycare at all. I am truly so thankful to have my daughter in Linda's care. My daughter was only 5 months old when she started and is now a happy, sweet, and secure toddler - I attribute this, at least in part, to Linda and her care, love, and capabilities as a caregiver.

She cared for my daughter from the time she was just 6 months old, and I couldn't have imagined a better place for her during those precious early years. From day one, Linda extended her warmth and made us feel like family. Her genuine love and compassion created a safe and nurturing environment where my daughter absolutely thrived. The level of care and attention she provides is unmatched due to the small size of each infant group. Each day, she never failed to keep us updated on her growth, milestones, and all the little moments we didn't want to miss. Linda's facility is surgically clean, organized, and filled with toys, books, and other learning materials that engage and support development. What really impressed us was the way Linda fosters creativity, curiosity, and kindness. Our daughter experienced so many "firsts" including art and language. And learned so much that helped her grew into a confident, happy little human. Thank you, Linda, for the peace of mind you've given us and the joy you've brought to her early years. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a trustworthy and compassionate home daycare!

I was overwhelmed and nervous about sending our daughter to daycare for the first time. I toured several facilities and ultimately went with my gut when I chose Tiny Footsteps. A couple things swayed me, number one it's a family-run daycare out of the family home. I think for kids transitioning to daycare for the first time, it feels like an extension of home. Like going to a relative's house. There's windows all around and good air circulation -- several places I toured didn't have much or any natural light. The kids socialize all together and I've seen with our daughter that it's given her an extra bit of emotional intelligence. She learned how to interact with the babies from watching Ms. Sevan, and once our son, her little brother was born, was attuned to being gentle and engaging warmly with him. Similarly hanging out with some of the older kids helped develop her vocabulary and motor skills trying to keep up with them. I think of them like a big pack of cousins the way she talks about them all at home. And one of my favorite parts, is that they make good, home-cooked meals. It's been such a great relief that we take Auva to daycare in the morning and she has two meals and two snacks there that we don't have to plan. She likes their cooking and eating as a group with the other kids has helped her widen her palate. Highly recommend! Our daughter still attends and we're grateful for their care!

She checked in with us daily for the first couple of weeks, sending photos and videos to reassure us. Since starting daycare, my daughter's vocabulary has grown immensely, and her manners have improved too! She comes home every day with adorable crafts, coloring pages, and new phrases she's learned. Drop-offs are filled with happy, excited kids, and my daughter loves sharing stories about her friends and caregivers--Sevan, Jenni, and Charmaine. The team at Tiny Footsteps is not only caring but also incredibly supportive. They always take the time to listen and offer valuable parenting advice. I never worry about my daughter's well-being because I trust them completely--they feel like extended family to my little Esme. Until the age of two, we were able to nurture his love of creativity through art, get him engaged in reading and music, and keep him active and independent while learning at home, but his social-emotional growth needed a community like Modern Schoolhouse to truly develop. We met another family at his favorite playground that had an AMAZING experience at Modern Schoolhouse and their daughter, who was academically gifted and raised with similar philosophies, was thriving under their care. We enrolled and discovered for ourselves that Modern Schoolhouse was indeed an absolute gem for child development. Our son entered after turning two, and he was very shy/reserved at the time. The talking, dancing, singing, bilingual artist that blew us away with his funny ideas and love of learning at home, needed help expressing himself in the larger group. Over the next several years, Leonardo was able to grow and thrive his ability to emotionally self-regulate, from having a 'safe space' at home to being able to identify what he was feeling and how to 'calm his body,' to listening to others and respecting common space. What we didn't anticipate was not just the top quality of the school, the clean aesthetic spaces, and the exceptional teachers (Teacher Alicia from class 3 was truly amazing!!), but also the like minded and kind community that became a key part of our son's social life. During our son's first years at home, we studied Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia- instituting some principles of each in our approach at home. It wasn't until we met Sue and her philosophies at Modern Schoolhouse did we see some of these same philosophies embodied in an American child care setting; and we must have interviewed or toured at 5 or more local schools before finding Modern Schoolhouse. The core beliefs consist of the idea that children are competent, capable, curious individuals with hundreds of ways of self expression. The role of the school and family should be creating a structured, clean, and aesthetic environment that is conducive stimulating exploration and discovery. Teachers in this sense guide and foster collaboration rather than just 'delivering information.' Giving our son a new challenge was hard at first, but Sue and her staff were quick to offer suggestions and outside resources so we could reinforce some lessons at home, especially around his development of social/emotional skills like managing anger, dealing with disappointment, and learning to communicate when he needed space. He also was given the chance to learn how to build relationships and have positive interactions with new friends. Each 'season' and month had different themes that would be clearly delivered in monthly/quarterly emails along with chances to meet with teachers on child progress in key development areas of language, tracing, use of scissors, how to put on shoes/jackets, counting, class participation/listening, and emotional self expression. By class 3 (3 years old and above), our son was giving 'show and tell' presentations, using the 'sharing bee' to discuss their weekend, and playing inventive games to stimulate imagination and curiosity. Through the use of brightwheel, we were always shown photos and videos of our son having fun with friends and doing some fun activity. The school also offered many events at the school such as the "annual art show," "parent and me" day, and music sessions from Teacher Gaia culminating in a student led music performance (the cutest!). This year all the 4 classes made their own animal costumes and acted out various Disney themes. It was extraordinary to see him flourish and thrive under Teacher Alicia in class 3, who is truly remarkable for her ability to connect to kids and meet them where they are on the journey. By the end he was more confident in his presentations and even singing his favorite Disney songs Karaoke style to the class! Everything ended on a wonderful note with his graduation and small speech to parents and the graduating class. We were given an opportunity for a graduation photoshoot and his 'family book' with messages from all of the teachers as a keepsake that he created during his time there. As he graduated before many of the others in class 3, everyone created a special hand painted art for him with with the handprints of all his friends. It is bittersweet to go onto the next chapter, but he graduated school scoring high in every single metric of development, and he easily was interviewed and accepted into an international private school. Thanks you for being such a key part of his childhood journey and we hope to stay in touch with Leonardo and our growing family!

Initially, we had some concerns about starting him so young, but it quickly became clear that enrolling him early was the right choice. He is truly thriving--emotionally, mentally, and intellectually. The curriculum at TMS is incredibly well thought out. Each activity clearly connects to the weekly or daily theme, and we've seen real growth in our son's development. He's starting to learn the alphabet and has become much more verbal since he began. What stands out even more is how happy our child is at TMS. Every photo we receive through the app shows him smiling, and we always feel confident dropping him off, knowing he's in caring and capable hands. The teachers, staff, and owner (Sue) are exceptional. Our son absolutely adores his teachers and lights up when we mention their names in the morning. Even though he's usually very attached to us, he was so excited to see his teacher at the Annual Art Show that he practically leaped from my arms to greet her. That kind of connection is exactly what every parent hopes for in a school: a place where your child feels loved and supported. On top of all this, the school is extremely clean. Our son has hardly been sick, and we've noticed how attentive the staff is to hygiene--little ones always have their noses wiped, diapers changed very frequently and the environment is clearly well-maintained. TMS is far beyond a typical daycare--it's a place where our child is growing, learning, and genuinely happy.

As soon as I knew I was pregnant, we knew we wanted to put our second child on the waitlist. When my daughter was of preschool age, we enrolled her even a year earlier than my son, at 2 years old. She would send us pictures and keep us updated about the school day. She went for 2 years is now in TK, and more prepared than ever (and miles ahead academically and socially) because of Rebecca, Alex and her caring teachers. We had formal teacher conferences twice a year with a detailed report so we knew exactly what we needed to work on both academically and socially. WW had a great balance of crafts/projects, focusing on social emotional needs, academics, and teaching them practical life skills. Not only were both my children overly prepared for TK, Rebecca, Alex and her team created a family environment for the parents and inclusive for the students. There were family potluck events and playdates monthly scheduled. If you want an intimate setting (home-based) but with "larger" school expectations, Whiting Woods is THE best of both worlds.

Dear Bright Future Montessori Team,…read more As a full-time working mother, I cannot thank the staff at this facility enough. I have been with Bright Future Montessori for five years, starting from the very first day of my firstborn's preschool journey. I now have three children enrolled here--one in the infant room, one in the toddler room, and my oldest graduating this year--and I couldn't be happier. My children are always excited to be dropped off and often want to stay as long as possible. The daily activities and educational programs are wonderful. Most recently, they came home with goodie bags from the egg hunt, and the photos Susie shared of the event truly made my day. I want to specifically thank the owners for creating such a happy childhood environment and providing these precious moments for my family. The kids are already looking forward to the summer program; they love the variety of activities, from pool days to cooking and planting. Thank you to all the teachers for the genuine kindness and care you show to every child.

I toured several places before finally choosing Bright Future Montessori, and I'm so grateful that I did. Both of my children started here at just four months old, and looking back, it was one of the best decisions I've made for them. One of the first things that stood out to me was the director, Ms. Suzie. She is always incredibly responsive whenever I have a question or concern, and she is so approachable and easy to talk to. That level of communication gave me so much peace of mind. What has truly kept us here for the past 4 1/2 years, though, is the amazing team of teachers. My oldest has already gone through four different classrooms, and every single teacher has been kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They treat the children as if they were their own, and that means everything to me as a parent. My kids absolutely love going to school. Every day they run in and hug their teachers, and that alone reassures me that they feel safe, happy, and loved. It has made such a difference in easing the guilt that comes with dropping them off. I highly recommend Bright Future Montessori to any parent looking for a nurturing, loving, and supportive environment where their children will truly be cared for.
