Our family has had two kids attend from age 2 and both have loved it. Zara the owner, every one of the teachers, and the parent community are all wonderful. Our kids have learned, grown and been really loved. The school does an amazing job of balancing education, play, and emotional development. I cannot recommend this preschool enough.

One of the first things that stood out to me was the director, Ms. Suzie. She is always incredibly responsive whenever I have a question or concern, and she is so approachable and easy to talk to. That level of communication gave me so much peace of mind. What has truly kept us here for the past 4 1/2 years, though, is the amazing team of teachers. My oldest has already gone through four different classrooms, and every single teacher has been kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They treat the children as if they were their own, and that means everything to me as a parent. My kids absolutely love going to school. Ms. Kanthi was my teacher and now she owns the same school and teaches my kids! She is absolutely amazing! All of the staff are incredible. Ms. Fatema, Ms. Chrissy, Ms. Kim, Ms. Sumudu, Ms. Raquel, Ms. Angelica, Ms. Hazmik. Literally every single one of them. All of them treat the kids as if they were their own, so much love and patience with the kids. My kids love going to school and they actually get excited about learning. Ms. Fatema's science class has been amazing in instilling a love for learning for our oldest child. We can't wait for our other kids to take Ms. Fatema's science class and Ms. Kim's science class. My oldest is definitely ready for kindergarten solely because of Ms. Fatema. The school has great hours for working parents from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Hot lunch is available for an additional fee. The school goes all out for all of the holidays and graduation. There are lots of opportunities for parent involvement should you want to be involved. The environment is screen-free and true to the Montessori method.

We witnessed our son flourish, socially blossom into a far more gregarious and enthusiastic participant in play, and embrace his weekend extracurriculars with more vigor and attention. I assumed at first this was just the result of more socialization, but the more time I spent with the teachers on this small campus, I realized it was the result of their curriculum, compassion, and genuine interest in each child's success. My wife and I found ourselves shocked when our once shy wallflower took front stage of a school recital and pantomimed a song and dance we never once rehearsed at home, unbeknownst to us but no less welcome. We had every opportunity to involve ourselves in the day-to-day of the class without any news or emails feeling overbearing. Pick Up and Drop Off was always pleasant, and the fellow parents we met felt like community. I say without hyperbole that I will truly miss Flintridge Montessori, and recommend it to any parent and child without reservation. When it came time to send my other child to pre-school, I without a doubt, wanted to send him to FMS. They both competed their toddler through TK/K program. At FMS, their teaching style is the Montessori method. It is well balanced with social, academic, hands-on learning, then they add in workbooks as they get older. The classrooms are always clean and organized, never cluttered. They have "toys" for learning, which are kid accessible, on low shelves, easy for them to reach. I like their play yard. They have age-appropriate play structure, sand pit, tricycles, rock climbing wall. I like that you can visibly see every part of the yard from the classroom locations. Many of the teachers have been there over 5, 10, 15+ years. Special shout out to Ms. Joyce (curriculum director /lead teacher), Ms. Melo, Ms. Hilda (lead teacher), - who are in the pre-school classes and they taught both my kids. Along with the other FLM teachers, they are all caring, nurturing, welcoming to my kids. Every morning, you will see them working 1:1 with the kids on their letters, numbers, lifecyles of a plant; while other kids are playing with their Montessori toys or doing an activity with the other teachers. They even had an incubator to let the student watch fertilized eggs develop and hatch while learning about biology and life cycles. My younger child went onto the TK/K class, he was taught by Ms. Jasmine (lead teacher) and Ms. Karly. Every morning, like the other classes, she is always so happy to see my child, providing me updates on his development. She too, working 1:1 with each child. By the end of TK, he was able read full sentences, do 1st grade level workbooks, solve simple math and subtraction problems, and name the state capitols. He is WAY more than ready to go into Kinder! Other highlights that I liked about the school are the showcases, held every holiday and spring, in which each class puts on an amazing performance organized by the teachers. The kids will perform several songs with choreography. I look forward to these every year. Potty training offered at the school was immensely beneficial. They made it so easy. After school care is another reason that I choose FMS. All the after school teachers are kind, playing and reading with the kids. They have a variety of days/hours/plans to choose from based on your needs. For working parents, this is very important. They are open even when other schools are closed for most winter and summer breaks. They are only closed for teacher trainings and holidays. Extracurricular after school activities is offered there for an additional, nominal fee. They have soccer shots, dance classes, art classes, and Ms. Joyce offers Mandarin classes. They offer summer camp, with themed weeks, and specialized events for the school year and summer, ie. reptile show, petting zoo, pony rides, bubble show, visiting the fire station next door, Doctor/Dentist /JPL career lessons. With Ms. Taylor managing administrative duties, I have seen a such an improvement on clear, concise communication to the parents, sharing information, keeping track of any payments and record keeping, like office stuff. She is so organized and pleasant to work with. The Director, Ms. Rohini, has been instrumental to this school, from hiring a strong team of teachers and maintaining a childcare & learning community we are happy to be part of. We are so sad to leave, but they prepared my kids for their next stage in life while teaching them to become good human beings. I love this school and especially love the teachers. The small classes allowed my son to learn in a classroom with a low student to teacher ratio and in an environment that allowed him to learn at a flexible pace. By 4yrs old, my son was reading, writing, adding single digits, sorting, identifying shapes, and creating art pieces. My daughter currently attends the school and since my son left the school, LCMS added a cooking class, Spanish class, yoga, hands-on science class, gardening, and soccer for the kids. In short, they added more programs to provide a well-rounded learning experience. The teachers are nurturing, encouraging, and kind. I believe they set my children up for success academically and have their overall development as a top priority. No two experiences will be alike as there is no such thing as a perfect school. If you are considering the school for your child/children, tour the school for yourself and don't let my review or any other review for that matter influence your own decision.

With that said we looked around and found swimming success and we contacted them through email and set up appointments for lessons. I have to say that the email process did take a little longer than I would've expected, because sometimes it would be days before I would hear back from their contact. We finally got things situated where both our kids would be able to take lessons at the same time, which was exactly what we are looking for. I like how the website outlines what to expect out of the lessons and gives an overview of how the lessons will likely go. For the first 3 to 4 lessons my son was yelling and screaming for his life but by the fifth lesson he was confident enough to jump into the pool by himself! My daughter didn't really know how to swim at all when starting these lessons and by the eighth day, she was able to swim pretty much across the pool all by herself. That is very very impressive! The instructors pay close attention to each one of their students. They knowledgeable to know how far they can push the student to make big progress. The only thing that I did not like about about the lessons is that they mentioned at the end of the last lesson that my son might not be able to actually swim on his own until he turns 4 because usually at age 3 and below children are not able to hold up their bodies and lift up their neck because their muscles have not developed enough to do so yet. Had I known this, I would have waited a year and saved our money to put him in lessons next year. Now I'm a bit freaked out because he feels fully confident jumping in a pool that he is not able to swim in. Otherwise, I am very happy with the lessons they took! I was reading over other reviews and it seems there is a communication problem but this wasn't really the situation I had. They got back to me within a day or two, and they were extremely helpful over email. I would totally recommend giving them a try to get your kids to learn to swim. They will get the job done, but my advise would be to make sure your kid(s) are at least 4-5 years old. Otherwise you'll waste $300.

I was about to send her to summer camp and was nervous that she still was a poor swimmer. A friend recommended Swimming Success to me and my daughter was swimming by the 2nd day! I was thrilled! It took them two days to accomplish what the other swim lessons couldn't do in two years!! She ended up taking swim here for three years. My son is signed up for his fourth summer of taking the lessons, and I can't say enough positive things about them. In my experience the teachers have been incredibly kind and caring (he has had the same wonderful teacher every year!), and while they do tell the children they need to do certain things, it is never in a mean or unkind way. Both my children love to swim and spend all summer in the pool, so I am thrilled that they have gained such incredible skills at Swimming Success!!

Teacher D brings enthusiasm, encouragement, silliness and playfulness into the pool, teaching the kids skills and allowing them to have fun all at the same time. My favorite part about Teacher D is how he begins each lesson with "Pool Rules" (i.e., never swim by yourself, if someone is in trouble run and get help and don't try to save them yourself, etc.). My kids have memorized the Pool Rules and can recite them even when not in the pool. Thank you for teaching our kids the skills necessary to learn how to swim while also having so much fun with them!

About two years ago I was looking for a preschool for my twins when a parent of my children's dance group introduced me to Montessori Academy of Glendale. If I remember correctly, I had four to five appointments with the director and owner of the school, Mrs. Angela. Every appointment I went to, I tried to see the school at different times of the day so I could see all the teachers and activities that were offered to children in the school. After a thorough research my husband and I finally made our minds about the school and enrolled our twins in Montessori Academy of Glendale. Even though we did not want to separate our twins and put them in different classes, Mrs. Angela who has over 25 years of experience explained to us that by enrolling our twins in two different classes would ensure that they don't depend on each other so they can socialize with others and make new friends. I will admit it that the first week was tough but after the second week my children did not know any different. We were very happy that we took Mrs. Angela's advice. As the months passed and we got to know Mrs. Angela and the teachers better, we were extremely happy with our choice of school. Not only the teachers are professionals but they are amazing in the way they teach. Within months my children started talking fluently in English (English is their second language) and every time they brought home their assignments, I was surprised at the advance level of material that they were learning in their school. This school offers diversity, one of the most important facts of living in California, the teachers are fantastic and the principal is an amazing woman with a lot of knowledge in her profession. Three weeks ago my husband and I enrolled our twins in a public school for kindergarten and they were placed in two different classes. My husband and I looked at each other admitting silently that if we had not taken Mrs. Angela's advice and put them in separate classes two years ago, now we would have had a lot of issues when they enrolled in kindergarten. None of our children cried for being placed separately, they simply turned to us, kissed us on our cheeks and went to greed their new teacher. I found about this Montessori from my neighbor in Burbank and her kids were students of this Montessori 35 years ago. I later found more parents that say their kids have the fondest memories here, The teachers here have been with the school for years. I enrolled my kids here because of it being so close to Disney where I work. My kids started here as toddlers at the age of 2 and now four years later my kids are ready to move on to elementary. The school was instrumental in potty training both my kids. My kids are a year apart and I watched them pick up from the older kids new words, counting, volcanos and dinosaurs, octopus' and the pizza song. They have learnt so much and I am so thankful. The teachers were amazed during their assessment test for school. Ms. Angela, is always so understanding and straight. My daughter was with Ms. 'princess' Jasmine and Ms. Lucy and goes in giving them a hug everyday. My son was Ms. Ana and Ms. Elle and loves to take little things to school to show them. Ms. Anahit with the toddlers is been with them for so many years and now her daughter helps out at the school. The school offers dance, yoga, music classes that make it so convenient. I can't say enough great things about Ms. Angela and the staff at the Montessori Academy. First off, I have three children who attended preschool here. Ms. Angela, who is the owner and supervisor of Montessori Academy is very hands on in taking care of the children and also the overall management of the school. She has very high standards about how the school is run and most importantly, how the children are treated. She truly took care of my kids as if they were her own, and other parents I got to know there also felt the same way about their kids. I had peace of mind leaving my children there knowing they will be well taken care of. My kids also received an excellent education there. The teachers there were very kind and patient and did a great job of teaching my children in preparation for elementary school...in fact once they started elementary school the elementary school teachers were very surprised at how advanced my kids were, thanks in part to the education they received at the Montessori Academy. I usually don't write reviews, either positive or negative. But this time I decided to write one because I want to share with people how delighted I am with the preschool my son goes to. It is Montessori Academy on Glenoaks blvd. Before deciding on the preschool, I did my research and went around several. Ms. Angela's preschool met all my expectations. She is the principal. The school is big, there is a nice yard with grass for the kids to run and play. It smells good there-that's important for me because my son is in the preschool all day long, and it's important to have fresh air. I pay attention to a lot of: teachers, program - and Montessori is considered one of the best programs for the child development. The place is clean. This school definitely deserves 5 out of 5 stars! I really recommend it. I noticed a huge progress in my son's development after 2 weeks of attending this school. He started speaking, and they also teach kids read and count. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Montessori Academy on Glenoaks Blvd. Ms. Angela, the owner, is truly dedicated and passionate about providing a nurturing and enriching environment for the children. From the very beginning, she made us feel welcomed and confident that our child was in the best hands. The teachers here are exceptional -- caring, patient, and deeply committed to each child's growth. They foster independence, curiosity, and respect in a way that aligns perfectly with the Montessori philosophy. We've seen such incredible development in our child, both academically and socially. Both my daughter and son went to Montessori Academy. I visited atleast a dozen pre-schools before picking this school for my daughter. But for my son, it was an easy choice. Ms. Angela is amazing. Kids totally love her and at the same point know NOT to cross that line with her. Ms.Manualla (sure I spelled it wrong) is my favourtie. They were practically like a family away from family and at pre-school level thats really what kids need. Someone who really cares for them and nurtures them. The parking lot behind the school is huge and that kind of running space is a luxury in the heart of LA. I've always felt my kids were in a safe place. My daugther now 10 has been identified as a Gifted kid (GATE) and I would attribute a bit of that to her Pre-K teacher Ms. Gina. If you ask me, they know what they are doing and they have been doing it for a very long time. read more

Did not realize Montessori Academy has been around for almost 3 decades! My daughter attended this pre-school and I cannot think of one reason why I would not choose this school again for my grandson! The owner Ms. Angela is highly experienced and has been doing this all her professional life very successfully and passionately. The teachers are well qualified, friendly, and keep you well informed on your child's progress. The facilities are spacious, clean and kid friendly. A variety of classes have been added to the curriculum which prep your child well in advance for elementary school. My daughter never fussed a single day to go there since she felt very much 'at home'. Its comforting to know that my grandson will be in good hands : ) ...looking forward to my association with MA again, and kudos to them for doing what they do best! read more

My twins attended Montessori Academy for 2 years when they were little shy of 3 years old. And they loved their time there! In fact until now, they love to meet Miss Angela and their teachers there. They were put in 2 different classes and that helped them in their growth and prepared them for school. My younger one was very shy initially but soon he started to open up, make new friends and enjoyed all the activities. All the teachers are extremely caring, approachable and helpful. My children attended full day curriculam from 8 - 5, M-F. They picked up their phonics and was reading books with 3 letter words by they were four! All thanks to the amazing teachers there. I wanted them to start their learning via the Montessori method and that's exactly what they got here. I highly recommend of Miss Angela and the Montessori Academy. read more

The kindest, most caring people work here. We have moved around a bit and our son has attended 6-7 different pre-schools/day care and some of them are really good, but none can compare at all to this center. When I read the one or two the negative reviews on here, my heart goes out to the parents. I'm sure they really love their kids and are very upset over some misunderstanding. But honestly I cannot say anything negative about the amazing women who work here. They are true angels. To date, this is the only school that our son was so excited about attending every morning. He talks about Ms. Anna, Ms. Angela, and Ms. Gail all the time still, even though we moved away months ago. This school is a true blessing and a real hidden gem in Glendale. We are so fortunate that our son had an opportunity to go here. read more

We recently moved to Glendale from out of state, and finding the right preschool for our daughter was one of our top priorities. After touring several schools, we chose Montessori Academy Glendale, and it has truly made our transition smoother than we could have hoped for. From day one, the staff was incredibly welcoming. The teachers and the director, Ms Angela have been so warm and attentive. They made sure our daughter felt safe and comfortable as she adjusted to a new environment. We have noticed a big difference. She's already starting to recognize letters and numbers. Shes becoming more independent and confident, cleans up after herself, asks to serve her own snack. We also love that the school offers activities like yoga and kung fu. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a montessori school! read more

I have been a counselor in a public middle school in glendale for the past 10 years, and worked as a preschool teacher for 7years at GUSD.My daughter entered the montessori academy when she was two, I have never been happier. The staff is incredible, Angela the director is amazing. I feel that they are part of our family and they take care of my daughter as their own. The school is very clean, diverse and the curriculum is great. She has learned alot from all of her teachers, I am always amazed when she comes home with new knowledge and vocabulary. I also have a student at my middle school that attended the school when she was little, and she is an amazing student. This school has good reviews and it is really true, children look so happy with excellent warm, friendly ,amazing teachers . Children's work is displayed for children to be proud of ! Bathrooms are so clean and the school has security gates and cameras . Prices are so reasonable and open from 6.00 am to 6.15 pm. I have been to few schools ,but I was attracted to this school mainly because of the security ,cleanliness. Montessori Academy is a great place for preschools. We had a very good experience with them. We signed up my son when he was 4 , and now he is 5.5 and ready for his Kindergarten. We are very happy with his improvement. Thanks to the hard work of teachers @ MA, he can write, draw, do math, read and perform. The Learning Place was a nice in-between where it was more structured than a home daycare but less expensive than a more institutional school. At around $1,000 a month for 7am-6pm program we thought it was a great deal. The school has a nice outside playground with shade and cushioning a nice little playground. In our time there they did upgrade the playground to have shade and padding which was nice. Inside it is very clean and they separate the kids by age. There are two doors between the outside and the school so it is secure. They have an iPad check in and check out system. We chose the Learning Place because the director, Ms. Enereyda (Ms. E) is incredibly warm and friendly. I can't say enough positive things about Ms. E. We also liked that she speaks both Spanish and English and we could chat with her in Spanish. The other teachers like Ms. Veronica and Ms. Melina are incredibly warm and friendly as well. We always had very positive interactions with the teachers. We always felt that our daughter was in good hands at The Learning Place. I initially signed her up here because I was working in Glendale. After a year I began work somewhere else but kept her at Learning Place even though we lived in Sherman Oaks. We liked this place very much. Overall - - I highly recommend the Learning Place. We loved our 2 years there.

It is such a pleasure to arrive at pickup time and be greeted with a smile, to hear her speaking to the kids fondly and kindly without exception, and to see her setting clear, manageable, age-appropriate limits for the kids. We appreciate that when Analia has had difficulty she has always framed it as something she and Mrs Jenik Hatamian are "working with her on" - a welcoming, collaborative approach - and that her expectation is always that she will succeed at whatever she has struggled with; if not today, then tomorrow or the next day. She somehow never appears harried or overwhelmed, and she seems to genuinely enjoy spending time with the kids. Analia has also been very proud of what she has learned in Wonder Years. She was showing off her knowledge of the songs, and she has told me a lot about the Alphabet, numbers, and colors that she learned in Wonder Years. She felt so happy with Ms Anahit and Ms Jenik that that she missed them at the weekends. Until now she talks about Ms Anahit and Ms Jenik with great excitement. When she was transferring to higher class I was worried about changing teachers however it turned out that all the teachers at wonder year's preschool are highly qualified and experienced. Ms Naira was our next excitement as a teacher. Recently, at parents meeting her current teacher Ms Tina presented everything so professionally, patiently answered all the questions that as a parent I could only express my gratitude by sharing my experience and recommending this school highly. Also want to refer to the highly organized manager Karine who is always very nice and kind in any situation. But also, among all these I love the educational program they have and the menu which they send each month. Summarizing, highly recommended place!

The teachers were so great about sending us updates in the first couple weeks during the difficult transition from family daycare to this one. Our son has been SO HAPPY ever since. He's made so many friends, loves telling us about his day, and the staff are so great about helping with potty training. Believe me, our son was a doozy for them, so TRUST that they'll work with you on it. The kids get a lot of outdoor time to break apart the time they spend indoors. Their playground is awesome, with so many different interesting areas for the kids to explore and play. I've realized its actually hard to find another place that allows so much outdoor time for the kids, and ours definitely loves having the space to run his "yaya's" out. The teachers are very in tune with the kids, and get to know them genuinely. The kids are loved here, and on top of the joy that they experience... the learning they gain even at young ages is amazing! My only heads up is that you won't receive a lot of updates on your kid throughout the day on the app, but honestly he was so happy every day at drop-off and pickup, we decided it was better the teachers were focused on the kids rather than the app and taking enough photos of the kids all day long.

The teachers and staff are super friendly, devoted, and understanding. They always put in effort to create activities for the kids, outside of their usual day-to-day curriculum. Especially on holidays (Halloween, Easter, Christmas, etc.), they plan fun activities, games, and decorations for the kids to enjoy. Also, the school does a great job in keeping parents informed of upcoming events and activities. I will continue to refer friends to Wonder Years!

We are so grateful that we found Burbank Edu-Care preschool. They are a truly amazing preschool…read morewith excellent academic instruction, dedicated and experienced teachers, and a wonderfully supportive, loving environment. The director, Marie, has worked in childcare and preschool/kindergarten education for decades. We toured different preschools and Burbank Edu-Care stood out to us for multiple reasons. It's a small, intimate environment and the premises are beautiful. They have a garden on the preschool/kindergarten grounds and grow fruits & vegetables which they use to prepare healthy, organic lunches for the children. Lunch and potty training are both included in their very reasonable tuition fees. At other schools, lunch was a separate fee and potty training was an additional fee, or you could not enroll your child if they were not potty trained to begin with. The school has an adorable "parking" area where kids can park their tricycles and push cars in front of the school (behind a secure, gated campus). The private, high-fenced gate in front of the school ensures that strangers cannot see the children from the street and that the children are not in danger of street-based traffic. My 3-year-old child loves Ms. Marie and has so much fun learning and playing with the other children. They have plenty of opportunities for art, dance, music, and sound academic fundamentals like phonics, colors, shapes, etc. My child is completely safe at this school. I am also profoundly touched that Marie has taken a very special interest in our older, autistic child and has been so understanding of our unique childcare schedule. You can tell that she truly loves the children. For Ms. Marie, this is not just a job for her or a paycheck-this is her calling and she is uniquely gifted in her ability to connect with and lovingly care for your child. The school is fully licensed, very safe, it's small, intimate, and the kids are cared for with loving attention. Other schools for small children can feel chaotic or like your kid is a number in a larger setting, but that's not the case here. There is so much comfort in knowing that your child has found his or her community and niche. You don't have to worry about all the horror stories of inexperienced caregivers around your small child. TBH-my MIL was hesitant when I told her we would enroll our little one in preschool. She warned me that some kids find it too traumatic, and maybe she's safer at home (given what she's seen on the news, etc.). We are highly protective of our children. We feel confident we made a great decision choosing Burbank Edu-Care. Given the level of care/attention given to these children (plus potty training and healthy lunches included) -the tuition is very reasonable/affordable. If you tour and call other preschools and kindergartens that are in Burbank-Burbank Edu-Care's rates are very reasonable/affordable and they don't have the hidden fees (for lunches, potty training, additional hours for certain shifts, etc.) that some other programs charge. I highly recommend Burbank Edu-Care and am so grateful we found this amazing school! I can't gatekeep such a wonderful program when so many parents are seeking to find a safe, loving, supportive, and excellent preschool/kindergarten that builds on their child's strengths, gives them a sense of safety, care, and accomplishment, and lets them play with joy and creativity. Miss Marie, the owner, is so kind. She really has put all her heart and soul and educational experience into this business. We will never forget her and her teachers.
