Of course there's learning, artwork and reading too (I got my first Mother's Day flower pot artwork - aww) and plenty of space for all of it.

Ms. Valentin & Ms. Claudine (4&5 yo class) teach the children so much academically. They've learned so much and makes us feel confident to send our 5 year old to Kindergarten this coming school year. Thank you so much for continuing to guide the children into their new journeys off to elementary school. Their programs during the regular school year & summer are both wonderful. Yes, the school may seem out of date and look older but it's not about materialistic items. It's about the love, patience and care each teacher has provided for every student. Besides, the school can always learn, gain & advance with the new technology + suggestions we could make to improve the school.

There is also a camera in the main classroom where you can check on your child anytime! My daughter started attending there since she was 2 yrs old. She had only been with me so obviously being cared by someone else was a great deal! From the very beginning I felt my daughter was safe & so happy! She never cried at drop off & she was always so excited to go there. She was practically potty trained there & caught on to the idea so quickly! Although you can bring your own snacks they also provide it at the school & is organic food. One of the best comforts for me as a mom when my child was so little was the small group she was in because I always felt she had the attention she needed. They serve healthy organic snacks and everything always seems so clean and organized every drop off and pick up. My kiddo has learned the montessori way of playing and has applied it at home as well, so cleaning after play has been helpful to me at home too. I have a very vocal kid and she always has stories to tell about her day and she has just been so happy to be in school! Her favorites are basically everything! Yoga time. Music class, independent play at their learning stations, outdoor time, snack time too! Planning on putting her little sister in zen preschool as well when she turns 2!

It's small, personal, they communicate well, their home is well-kept -- you can truly feel that this is a family-run business. We appreciate that they have their own kids, and as a family care center the most they can ever accommodate is 8 children. This means that our children get much more attention than they would at a larger facility. They really treat us like family! For us this matters because we don't have family in this city, and like family, they've been there for us and very flexible with their support when needed. Further, every now and again our children come home with a special craft or seasonal activity they've completed for Mom and Dad. This is Miles of Smiles going above and beyond. Riyesha and her Chandra make a great team and we couldn't be luckier. All good things!

From the moment I first spoke to Riyesha, I could tell she was patient, kind, and genuinely caring for the people in her life. Handing over a premature baby at 8 weeks adjusted was so hard, and she made sure to check in frequently about how I wanted to approach things and making sure that both my son and I were comfortable with the care she provided. Riyesha and her mother truly love the children who attend Miles of Smiles like they are their own kids. Along the way, I really felt like we were part of their family as we got to meet and get to know their children. We ultimately decided to move out of California, and informing Riyesha was one of the conversations I dreaded most because she had seen us through some of the hardest parts of my son's first 18 months. I cannot recommend this daycare enough and still keep in touch with Riyesha as a result of the relationship we formed. They are the absolute best!

The care, kindness, and love that she received every single day went far beyond my expectations. The staff truly treat every child like their own, always listening with patience and respect. Two people that stand out in particular are Angela, the director, whose leadership and warmth are unmatched, and Miss Anahe, my daughter's favorite teacher, who poured so much love, encouragement, and guidance into her every day. It gives me peace knowing my daughter spent her early years in an environment that not only educated her academically, but also taught her kindness, love, and how to honor God. As a parent, it makes me a little sad that my daughter has grown and now has to move on to full-time elementary school, because our experience here was truly special. This is by far one of the best schools and childcare services a family could hope for. They don't just "watch" children--they nurture them, teach them, and help them grow in the best way possible. If you are searching for a school that will give your child a strong foundation, surrounded by love and genuine care, I highly recommend Montessori Academy in Glendale. Before I give a glowing and deeply heartfelt review of the experience our family has had at…read moreMontessori House of Children with both of our boys, I want to share a broader thought, because context matters, especially when parents are making one of the most important decisions of their lives. I think it is fundamentally unfair when a school receives a one-star review based purely on a parent's expectation of what they think an accredited Montessori environment should be, particularly when that opinion comes from a misunderstanding, limited exposure, or without ever actually attending or engaging with the school. Montessori education is nuanced, intentional, and often misunderstood when viewed through a traditional lens. What troubles me most is how quickly some people run to leave damaging reviews without first asking questions, seeking clarity, or having a conversation with the school. Educators and administrators put their entire lives into the well-being of these children and the integrity of their program. Parents rely on real, lived experiences when deciding to place their children in someone else's care, and highly subjective or reactionary reviews do not serve that trust or decision-making process. I truly believe that if something feels off, the first step should be to pause, gather information, and talk with the school. If, after genuine effort and understanding, you still feel strongly, then by all means leave a review. But perspective matters. And if you take a moment to look at some of the most extreme one-star profiles, you will often notice a pattern. Volatility, absolutes, and very little middle ground. Life, and education, rarely works that way. Now onto what actually matters. Our older son graduated from Montessori House of Children and is now thriving in first grade. Our younger son is about to graduate this year. Over the years, we have watched both boys grow not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and independently. This school helped shape who they are as learners and as people. The teachers are patient, intentional, and deeply invested. The environment fosters confidence, curiosity, responsibility, and respect. These are core Montessori principles that are clearly lived, not just advertised. Our children felt safe, seen, challenged, and supported. We will always be grateful for the foundation Montessori House of Children gave our family. It is not just a school. It is a community that genuinely cares about children and their development. I recommend it without hesitation to parents seeking a thoughtful, authentic Montessori experience.

TLDR; Second child just graduated Montessori…read more Bittersweet is the vibe. We truly wish our time here would never end, but now it has, and for the second and final time. Both our children entered this happy place at the youngest possible age, 24months, bc we wanted them to enjoy the stimulation of a preschool setting, and we are so happy we did. It goes far beyond the lessons learned in the classrooms, and the social norms they picked up in the sandbox. This is a place entrusted with not only watching your most precious possessions, but nurturing them and guiding them in their most formative years. It almost feels inadequate to relate the gravity of this responsibility and the proven outcome in a few graphs on the internet, but here we are. A combined 6+ years total, spent at this place. The first week at Monty with our first born, we weren't sure what to expect. She was able to do dropoffs well, as she had experience w that in daycare. Ofc, there were more than a few days where those turned difficult, her tears streaming, legs kicking, voice straining with violent screams at the prospect of not hanging out with Dad all day as he worked from home. But nobody is better at that particular hostage negotiation than the staff at Montessori. What seemed a task akin to charming a hissing Cobra snake was handled like a scoop of ice cream. I still remember the first Friday pick UP where my daughter had a complete meltdown at being told she was coming home for the day, and no, she couldn't come back til Monday. From an infrastructure standpoint, it's hard to beat this facility. The powerful HVAC hums along in all seasons so everyone is in comfort. The lunches are prepared hot, consistently, and lovingly everyday, which is so convenient. And most of all, their vast shaded outdoor space, separated by age, is what really sets this place apart. Children are at their best when given room to run, and the playground and toys provided are second to none. I'll miss cleaning the sand out of their shoes every day. Ultimately tho, what really makes this place what it is, is the Staff. The longtime teachers here truly love their job and the children they teach. The small class sizes ensure these wee ones have a loving experience as they navigate the bright and sometimes stormy journey of early childhood. The teachers always know how to handle any of the challenging situations that arise, and have a never ending supply of love to share. They also potty trained both our kids in a short amount of time, filling the crucial daytime gap of our schedule. Another advantage they provide you with is the highly individualized education plan that is tailored toward the daily progress of your child. Age is just a number here. When our kids were showing progress w their numbers and letters, they advanced appropriately. Both had a full kindergarten education a year early as a result. And, not to brag, but I strongly believe this to be the main reason why our oldest (now a soon to be 3rd grader) threw a perfect game on her OLSAT. Some folks say start kinder a year late, I think a year early (for the right child ofc) is the move. When LAUSD started offering free transitional kindergarten, it was natural for us to consider taking them up on the offer. But we quickly decided against it, despite the cost savings and convenience of a single dropoff in the morning. We didn't want our 4 year old getting bullied in the bathrooms by 5th graders, nor being immersed in a classroom of 30 some odd kids either. At this tender age, the loving, hugging nature of Monty is something we could never quantify, and is by far a superior environment. Really, it's hard to overstate the profound feeling of gratitude we have for this School. Like, it's not simply a Thai food restaurant you frequent bc you can't think of what to make for dinner. It's a place where children will receive an upbringing that never misses, that they enjoy and truly delivers at every opportunity.

We are fortunate beyond belief to have found this incredible school. It has been the most wonderful launching pad for my little one, setting her up for a healthy, curious, kind, and loving life. I have full confidence as she enters the "big school" (Kindergarten) next week that she will be ready socially AND intellectually thanks to the loving care and attention received from the teachers and leadership at New Generation. I found this school after trying many others in the area. New Generation is both play and academically focused, always clean, and has a GORGEOUS backyard play area (I always say it feels heavenly back there). I'll never ever forget how wonderful it felt to pick my daughter up in such a safe and loving environment every day and have her run across that playground to hug me. The school is not only kid-friendly, but parent friendly. They have always been kind and supportive in a way that parents of preschoolers need... they just get it. The front office empathizes and gives of their time and attention, always making me feel safe and seen. They also throw a great party!! The Fall Festival every year is seriously so much fun - we're still planning to go as a family even after we've left! There are always holiday activities, celebrations, shows, adorable Graduations... everything is just so perfect. Most importantly, the teachers are INCREDIBLE. We had Ms. Claudia, Ms. Laura, and Ms. Favi throughout the years, three of the most lovely women, always with a focus on learning, growth, development, and kindness. The kiddos spend so much time at preschool, it has been very comforting to know it is such a wonderful environment, complete with care and attention from very involved teachers. Ms. Favi, our current teacher, truly looks at her students as if they were her own, and treats them as such. My daughter loves her so, and dreams of being a teacher one day because of how wonderfully Ms. Favi does it. It will be so hard to say goodbye to her, and there will be no shortage of tears (mom included). I highly recommend this school for your sweet little ones. It feels like family, and I will forever be grateful to have found this special home away from home during such formative years.
