I will leave my review in the form of the email I have sent…read more I am writing to express my utter disgust and disbelief over the appalling treatment I received today during my visit to the Murrayville liquor store--a place I have supported loyally for over 15 years. Today, as I attempted to make my routine purchase, I was struck by a severe ulcerative colitis flare-up that left me in desperate need of a restroom. Despite my long-standing patronage, the employee at the counter--a person who has seen me countless times--refused to grant me access, citing some convoluted policy that required the manager's permission. When I turned to the manager for help, I was outright told no. It is a glaring example of absurdity that, in a moment of urgent need, I was forced to seek permission to use a basic facility. Was I asking to raid the stockroom or commandeer the cash register? No! I was asking to use a restroom--something any responsible business should accommodate. Instead, I was humiliated and sent off to a neighboring establishment, the sushi restaurant, to beg them for access. Never in my life have I felt so belittled and embarrassed, particularly by a business that prides itself on customer service. This ludicrous policy and its enforcement highlight a lack of basic human decency and an utter failure of management to prioritize customer care over rigid rules. It's astonishing that you would rather see a loyal customer suffer than allow a minor exception during a medical emergency. I have no patience for such callousness. Let me be abundantly clear: I will not be returning to your store. My business will now go to BC Liquor Store or The Artful Dodger, where I can shop without fear of being treated like a burden. Your inability to handle this situation with even a modicum of empathy has cost you a loyal customer--and don't fool yourselves into thinking it's inconsequential. I deeply encourage you to reassess your policies and the behavior of your staff. There's a critical difference between following rules and exercising common sense; clearly, your store fails miserably at the latter. I expect no response, as I doubt it could rectify the disappointment you've caused. Instead, I hope you take a hard look in the mirror and consider how you treat the very customers who have kept your business afloat.

They are obligated by the owner, according to the employees to yell, " Hello" when you walk in. It's not welcoming, it's accosting because you can tell they hate doing it. I walked in and a surly woman was stocking a shelf with cans. She had the empty flat and packaging on the floor and I went to scoot around it, as she didn't bother to even attempt to get it out of my way. I said sorry like a good Canadian. lol As I passed her I noticed a folded up piece of paper in the aisle close to her and I grabbed it and went to give it to her and said, "Oh sorry, did you drop this? Looks like a list?" She says "Nope"... and ignores me. Just a nope. Not a, " Thanks for picking that up", or " Let me read it, might be another employees'. It's hard to describe but her tone was the issue. Absolutely dismissive, mean, unfriendly. I mentioned it to the cashier and she didn't want to say anything but gave me eyes that absolutely agreed. Not my job to pick up their garbage off the floor. But even if it was a piece of plastic, just say thank you? Get rid of the grumpy ladies with the bad eyebrows. They make you not want to return. And yes, I'm picking on the only characteristic of her that doesn't end with UNT.

As a senior I live on a very limited budget but enjoy my spirits so have to take prices into consideration. Your staff has been great and sometimes do tips, they deserve it.
