They are the absolute rudest staff I've ever experienced. I said I wouldn't go back, but ended up picking up something tonight. They are obligated by the owner, according to the employees to yell, " Hello" when you walk in. It's not welcoming, it's accosting because you can tell they hate doing it. I walked in and a surly woman was stocking a shelf with cans. She had the empty flat and packaging on the floor and I went to scoot around it, as she didn't bother to even attempt to get it out of my way. I said sorry like a good Canadian. lol As I passed her I noticed a folded up piece of paper in the aisle close to her and I grabbed it and went to give it to her and said, "Oh sorry, did you drop this? Looks like a list?" She says "Nope"... and ignores me. Just a nope. Not a, " Thanks for picking that up", or " Let me read it, might be another employees'. It's hard to describe but her tone was the issue. Absolutely dismissive, mean, unfriendly. I mentioned it to the cashier and she didn't want to say anything but gave me eyes that absolutely agreed. Not my job to pick up their garbage off the floor. But even if it was a piece of plastic, just say thank you? Get rid of the grumpy ladies with the bad eyebrows. They make you not want to return. so sorry to learn you have reduced your Senior Discount. This reduction brought you in line with LCB price, but now no longer. As a senior I live on a very limited budget but enjoy my spirits so have to take prices into consideration. Your staff has been great and sometimes do tips, they deserve it. So I got trapped in this neck of the woods and suddenly had an insatiable thirst. Thank goodness this liquor store was around. They're open 365 days a year. There were many parking spots today, but it was Christmas after all. Lots of pickup trucks. I felt out of place. The inside looks like a converted warehouse. The layout is huge. Nice clean rows, where you can see exactly what you're looking for. Markup was there, but expected. I paid just over $14 for a 6-pack for beer. Not bad when you need your fix. Looks like there is more to Langley than a bunch of forest and Willowbrook Mall. read more

I entered the store, stopped, lowered my mask and said hello to the staff as a courtesy to reveal my age and face. A few steps into the store, I was asked to use their sanitizer and I said I had my own. So I went to my truck and sanitized and entered again. I went into the store to grab a case of beer and from across the store someone yelled that I 'had to use their sanitizer'. I simply said I would use my sleeve to open the fridge door and use tap to pay for my beer and another lady approached me from behind and told me to 'leave and never come back'. Being the owner of a liquor store myself, I thought I'd share this review. I never raised my voice. I didn't cause a scene. But because I wouldn't sanitize with their mystery sanitizer from an unlabelled windex-like spray bottle, I've been banned. As I was leaving, I explained that they had crossed a line that isn't being enforced by either Bonnie Henry or WorksafeBC. I won't be back. read more

In Cloverdale visiting family, forgot the wine for Xmas dinner! OK confession time, we "accidentally" drank it all the night before. Thought I was out of luck and was going to have to show up empty handed, help Yelp! I remembered the "open now" filter option and I press and pray. Riders Liquor Store - open! I often wondered how accurate that "open" info is but needed not fear after reading the single review confirming their 365 day shingle-hanging-commitment to supplying spirits to the Langley / Surrey market, thank-you Edward! Very large, bright, clean, and well laid out shop with a decent selection of beers, spirits, and wines, and although nothing like the wine selection of the larger government stores, there's enough of a variety to find something for most any occasion, and the pricing isn't unreasonable! The staff was friendly, super helpful, and quick to point me in the direction of my choice of libation, and, they were wearing pyjamas! I thought that was a nice touch on Xmas day when suddenly two other customers walked through the door in full pyjamas and bathrobes and I suddenly felt overdressed.
