Totally unprofessional. Feel free to ask them about wine; they don't know about that either, including easy questions like, "what's your biggest and cheapest wine (for sangria)?" "Uh this one is cheap." Next to it on the shelf sits a larger and cheaper bottle. Total idiots. It's a split level, the entrance (higher) level is wine, lower level (exit) is beers. There is a little bit of everything grouped by countries. A few bottles of each brand, and looks like a good mix of mid-priced to higher priced bottles. Appreciated the fridges lined with white wine. I imagine it serves as a good last minute "grab and go." I had a few minutes to browse before I was asked if I needed help. They didn't have the bottle I was seeking but the guy spent at least 5 to 10 minutes going over some other wines he recommended, taking my budget into account and asking other questions (i.e. was I looking for a specific varietal, region, etc.) He mentioned I could bring the bottle back if we were unsatisfied with the wine but I didn't ask how that would work... I would feel sheepish to bring back an opened bottle of wine. In the end I took a bottle that was recommended, within my budget, and though I had never heard of this winery before, turned out to be a great hit at dinner. Thanks!

There was a group of 6 of us and some of us had decided to stay back while 2 of us went to the store with 2 forms of ID. When they were trying to check out with another employee, the same woman came out and started yelling that since all 6 of us hadn't come back with 2 forms of ID, she wouldn't serve my friends at all. I don't understand what we did to make her so mad because it was truly a misunderstanding about the ID but she was so mean to us and it was overall such an unpleasant experience.

What I enjoyed was finding a different variety of wines than are available in Ontario (where I am from). Serendipity and luck has run out as Monday's are dreadful times of any week, year, or lifetime. One would think you could find a spot on 4th in Kits - but closing signs seem to be the norm. Resigned to failure, we walk back to the car and what do you know... We see $5 beers and free pool. The beckoning sign wins! Don't get the name wrong, Bimini is a Beer and Wine Store but they do have a pub of their own. AND it's a good one. Walk through and up the short stairs and you're in the cathedral of booze. But, we're here for the cheap beer! The domestic selection is $5 and we ordered our round. Main entry floor sits the lonely pool table. Ah... the pub tables, the carpet of foreign liquids that we kindly not think about, but here, it's a clean slate - so to speak! Shortly after racking it up, the golden nectars of the gods arrive and we drink thirstily and order another round with some form of food. Tacos and a burger was recommended and so shall it be! Meh... food was OK at best. Nonetheless, a good time was had. Can't really go wrong spending a couple hours here.
