He made recommendations at the start based on my hair and face type and ton hours time getting the fade just right. I even ended the trim with a cooling mint facial, what more could you want!? I was looking for a new place to get a cut so I called and booked an appointment for 12pm. I get…read morethere and two guys are getting hair cuts and one guy walks in just before me. As I enter one of the employees tells me and the other walk in to have a seat. I let him know I had an appointment and he said the barber will be right with me. The third barber walks in and starts setting up his station, meanwhile the other customer that walked in started getting his haircut as one of the other barbers finished. I waited about 15 minutes before I finally ask why I'm still waiting. Finally they realize the 3rd barber doesn't even have me booked in his calendar and the first two barbers didn't even confirm anything with him until I brought it up. I realized that the guy that was cutting the hair of the walk in was the one that took my name the day before. So finally they ask me to wait while the 3rd barber finishes up and he will be right with me - instead of just having the guy who was doing nothing except looking at his new products to cut it. The place was messy and you could see hair on the counters and floors. Clearly they don't sweep often but I figured "whatever" since I heard good things previous to this. Long story short I sit down and the 3rd guy was super nice and did a good job BUT they were watching soccer on the tv and anytime someone would come close to shooting the ball he would stop and look at the screen for 20-30 seconds then continue cutting my hair. I never went back and would not go back but the 2 stars I gave were for the guy who cut my hair since he did a good job. But I gotta say I was less than impressed with their "don't give a shit" attitude and customer service. Also, sweeping the floors and counters and keeping things clean would be a good addition to their business plan. I did not and will not go back. I will mention this was a while ago and I'm writing the review now so hopefully things have changed. I literally downloaded yelp just so I can write this review. That's how annoyed and frustrated I was.

She also takes the time to explain what's going on in the process and kept me updated on what she was doing. Which I loved because I've been to other salons before and felt like I was just being passed around in an assembly line - no connection with the stylist at all. But at Haides, I felt totally comfortable from the moment I went in. Downstairs is the barbershop and you kind of have to go out and around to the salon. I wasn't sure so I walked into the barbershop first and someone escorted me up to the salon. The whole environment they create is very welcoming and chill. I can't express that enough. There's been so many times I've walked into a different salon and felt like either nobody is paying attention or you're "just another number." At Haides they really make you just feel so comfortable. Also love that they're right in Surrey. It'll be so nice to have somewhere to get my hair done that's so much closer as opposed to going all the way out to Vancouver somewhere. Location might be a bit tough to get to if you don't pay attention like me. But there's ample amount of parking. They don't take walk ins. Which I don't really know a place that does for color anyways. Especially for high quality work. So plan to book ahead! Prices are very fair. Honestly for the quality of work you're definitely getting more! Will definitely be back and literally have been telling everyone I know about this place. Thanks Haides and special thanks to Rachel! You're amazing !!!
