One of Cloverdales many $5 haircut places that seems to be a-ok in my books. I love how the western cowboy theme goes with the territory but he fellows who do the hair cutting are far from cowboys (Middle Eastern I'm guessing) first of all the line up system goes by the honor system as there is a very long bench which everyone sits down at. You pretty much sit there and wait until it's your time to go up. Everyone else who is waiting there doesn't speak a word in fear the barbers may get angry if you speak. All you hear is "next" and everyone on the bench looks at each other on who is up. If it is your turn and you don't get up in time the guy with the open chair speaks in a angry and stern voice "who is next?" For $5 you can't go wrong for a haircut still the Cutting Den, it is what it is but it depends who you get and what type of mood the different barbers are in. No chit chat just this; "hello" "how are you?" "what number on sides" "thank you" If you want conversation while getting your hair cut go to the Hair Barn as the Cutting Den is about a fast and speedy haircut with little talking. Three barbers, nostalgia hanging everywhere. Ive been there twice already. I was too lazy to cut my own hair and wanted something done quick. My haircut's simple....shaved head and faded all around. If you're looking for a fast cut @ a cheap price ($5)...then head here. Be warned though, they cant do a good fade, both times i could still make out the lines in my head. They're into production and numbers because they get u in & out of the chair in a matter of minutes - so quality is sacrificed big time. read more

Absolutely terrible... I went in for a haircut, and when I was not being jabbed in the back of the neck with sharp clippers than my hair was being pulled out of the side of my head. Had no conception of a quality looking cut. I think next time I will pay a homeless guy to do it, at least he wont be in a huge rush and will actually listen to what I have to say... read more

First and last time. I have a simple cut, straight hair, number 3 on the sides and leave it a little longer on the top. But the fading is terrible. Lines all over my head. My wife and children think it's hilarious. Numerous barbers there, and at least 4 customers waiting in front of me. But I was welcomed to a chair as soon as I walked in. The other 4 must have known something I didn't. This was the second worst haircut of my life. The first was back in the 70s when the barber was drunk and I could smell the whiskey on his breath. The basic cut is now $8 and the old man who supervises a gang of about 6 has gotten worse. He hangs around by the window. DO NOT let him cut your hair. They bruises you see in the pictures above are real, and he also pulls hair out, which cannot be shown on a picture. Some of the gang members are actually nice and do a good job, but if you try to pick one, the old man will step in and reassign you. They may not talk much to you directly but they talk plenty among themselves in Arabic (Iraqi or Kurdish, hard to tell). The things they say about their clients are not nice (I went with a friend who is fluent in Arabic but they didn't know it). For an extra $2 you can pick better places in downtown Langley. read more
