I didn't want to drive to Vancouver and so I went on online and found Splash. Nikki did a good job with my hair. She made some slight adjustment to it and she explained to me why before she started. She is very good with her job. The place is clean and location is not bad. The best part is that there are plenty of free parking. They are somewhat hidden. They are located beside one of the T&T entrance tucked away.

Splash came up and we called them to see if they had any availability. Right away they were able to fit her in. I'm not saying that will always be the case, but they did squish her in between some other appointments and made it happen, which really made our day! The owner is extremely friendly and professional; their covid protocol is great and he did ask me to leave a few times because they were at capacity and I was just a guest (which I totally don't mind because I respect their adherence to the rules). Watching them interact with us and other customers, you can tell they treat everyone with the same curiosity, respect, and thoroughness. They are great at what they do, friendly, and accommodating. My girlfriend's request was met positively despite it's complexity; I have definitely gone to other salons who tell you they're busy when they don't want to deal with you. Their location is great for wheelchairs and there is tons of parking nearby.

Kind of a late review. I got my hair cut by Jeannette in September last year…read more The salon is super clean and the staff members are exceptionally friendly and professional. I went from having long hair from just above my butt to a super cute angled bob. Jeannette was so precise with the cut and made sure both sides matched. The cut was gorgeous. I actually felt like my confidence went through the roof as soon as I left the salon. I seriously recommend Suki's and look forward to my next haircut! :)

I wanted to tip for my service 15 percent ( which I thought was well deserved), and the…read morereceptionist at the front said that 20% is what is always given by others. I did tip the 20% but who says that? Let's go over Etiquette- Tip is deserved. 15% is the normal 20% if it is more deserved- Will I go back again? No. Never. Will I refer anyone here after my tipping issue? No! Why? Because according to the receptionist, 20% is what is given by mostly everyone. If this is expected, than I expect a skinny vanilla latte as soon as I walk in:)

She is so talented and has an eye for beauty and perfection. I've had other hair stylists and they just don't match the quality and detail that Magna Hair puts into their work. They also stay up to date and do advanced classes. The salon itself is also a treat - love the luxury! Make sure to book your appt ahead of time though because her appointments can be booked fairly fair in advance.

The hairstylist did not ask me if the water temperature is fine when she washed my hair, and she…read moreput something to cover my nose and my mouth when she washed my hair. That was odd because usually the hairstylist would only cover the customers' eyes. It was difficult to breathe. Also, she told me to sit up while she was still drying my hair at the back. Usually, the hairstylist would have wrapped my hair before they told me to sit up. She made me look bad and uncomfortable. I asked for layers and she did not give me a lot of layers. She said she would give me a little bit. That was not professional. The she tried to make my ends curly using the hair dryer and I told her I wanted my ends straight. She did not understand layers; she kept asking if I wanted thinner hair. I said no. She asked me twice if I wanted bands and I say no. Moreover, while she was cutting my hair, she let the hair fall onto my hands which could have been avoided. She did not put on the cape for me - she needed me to hand the other side to her instead of putting it on me. The service was terrible and she was indeed incompetent. Furthermore, when I said the haircut looks good, she kept on cutting. I said, "It's good' several times and she was still cutting my hair. Then she asked my sis, who was sitting beside me, "Is she okay?" I did not know why she said that; she was embarrassing me. When she finally stopped cutting, she looked at me with an anxious look and told me I could go back if there is any problem. She made me look bad with her exaggeration. In addition, she left a lot of the hair on my face after she finished cutting my hair - she only handed me the tissue box when I looked at the mirror and tried to wipe the hair off my face. Moreover, she and another hairstylist were chatting and looked at my sister with a weird gaze. That made her uncomfortable. When I tried to pay, the receptionist showed me a higher price after he knew that I was paying in cash. Why would they charge less if you are paying with credit/debit card? That was not right and he did not explain. Then the receptionist said, "No change? Tips?" after I tipped them. He was insulting. I think they knew that they should not treat customers this way and this was why they charged me $3 less. I was surprised when I saw the price but now I understand.
