Ranjna is absolutely wonderful! I booked with her after quickly scrolling through hair salons Burnaby, and seeing that she was open later than a lot of the rest. I called around 6pm, and booked for 6:30pm today. I was running a bit late so I called to let her know. She said no problem, thank you. Making an appointment is so easy, since she always answers the phone by the third ring. When I arrived at the salon, she greeted me warmly with a smile and she was ready to begin her services on my hair. She was very informative. Explained in full what she was going to do step by step. Answered all of my questions happily and is really great to talk with. She is very kind and has fantastic manners. My hair has never looked better. She got my entire long(26") head of hair to a beautiful blue black, jet black. (From another hair stylists poor job of blotchy black, brown-black.) She dyed my eyebrows jet black with a special dye. There was absolutely no mess around my forehead, ears, nape of neck, or eyebrows. I asked for a deep conditioning treatment she applied that and massaged it into my head/hair. I always opt for air dry because my hair drys beautifully without any heat. She sprayed my hair with leave in conditioner and gave me a brand new black detangling brush, that she took out of the package to detangle my hair with. Near the beginning she had asked me if I like black. I said yup. I Wasn't sure if she was referring to my black hair or my nails that had just been shellaced black. But I think it was actually for the brush, she is very thoughtful. So for all of my services it cost me $118. $85 for full long hair color $25 for leave in treatment $6 for dying eyebrows + tip Her services are absolutely fantastic, and I will 150% be going back. After being a very loyal and generous client for many years I decided to cut ties after being mistreatment. Booked a keratin treatment. Was told verbally it would be between 230 and 250. Paid 250 cash and was charged an extra 20 dollars. Numerous times she has had no shows and wanted me to call clients with my number. I remember this place. 4 years ago, after my hair stylist retired I tried this place out. I have never come back I hope that grumpy hair stylist (old Asian lady) I hope no longer works here because I felt insulted by the hair stylist. I always have to shampoo before I go anywhere because I have a dry scalp condition. Even then it dries up real quick. Hair stylist lady just said wow "your hair is so dirty, do you even wash? Please clean your hair before you come now I have to clean my trimmers after I cut ur hair" like, do u not clean your trimmers? Well after that statement, she washes my hair then gives me a mediocre trim, I just wanted to get out of there. But I felt so insulted that, even to this day I still tell my social media and friends to not go there. Very bad experience. 10mins to do a haircut with no styling. Very rushed out. No proper care of the customer

The owner of this salon is absolutely rude and mean.... if she screws up! Got my hair straightened for the first time and it was awesome!!! Went back just about year later to do again and they welcomed me in.... of course they did my hair was long and they charge a lot. The second time they only applied the product on the NEW GROWTH of hair and told me that there enough on my hair they will comb down and will straighten the rest! Wrong... month later my hair started to get curly where they didn't add product. I went back two month later as back my hair was getting very curly. She didn't believe me so she washed and dried my hair .... of course it straightened doing this. I explained I didn't want To have to blow dry my hair everyday to get the look I paid for .she said it looks good it's fine but if you are not satisfied I will fix for you. I said okay I'll give it couple more weeks if not I'll call. Well it started getting more curly and only after 2 1/2 month of getting it done. I wasn't happy with it! If it was CHEAP than whatever BUT I PAID $500. Plus to get this done! So I called and went back to get fixed! They whole time I was tormented, blamed and Emotionally abused! She even made me look up bank statement to prove it was only couple months ago that I got hair done!!!! I kept asking her to stop and she kept at me, she had me crying and still wouldn't stop! I raised my voice a little more asking her to stop....( and it wasn't much because I didn't want them to want to destroy my hair) What about customer always right???? And what about treating the whole head of hair not just part to save money! Greedy and totally disrespectful! In the end I paid for just the hair cut I got and she had the full to ask if I wanted to add tip..... My advise is DON'T GO HERE for a second time if you are getting your hair straightened.... read more

Always loved Rajna until I sent my son to get a hair cut and he came home with a very irritated eye. After completing my sons haircut, Raj offered to fix up my sons eyebrows and she dropped HOT WAX over the eye lashes of my son. He spent 15 PAINFUL minutes rinsing he eyes....and she STILL CHARGED FOR THE HAIRCUT! What kind of person imposes pain on a customer, accident or not, then makes sure to collect her $18. She apparently cares more for money than her customers...she's so busy she really doesn't care.... She never even said sorry to me....rather got and stayed defensive even after she made a mistake.... I went to have my hair cut here for 6 times in a year. After today's appointment, I decided I will never go there again. A $16 hair cut doesn't even make the two sides of my hair look the same. I got a closer look later I came home, and I found that my hair on the right side was lower than my hair on the left side. I am so disappointed with this appointment. I will never come again. I was looking for a place nearby and went by the yelp reviews. It didn't live up to the expectations at all. The wait time was supposed to be 15 min but ended up being 30 min. The haircut itself took almost an hour for a comb over. I showed Jen a picture of how I wanted my hair and while she cut my hair she kept making suggestions of modifications would look good. This includes not texturizing my hair, leaving the back a No.3 while the sides were No.1 essentially creating a mullet look in the back. I had to insist many times for her to make it all even. Then she started going rougher with the clippers for some reason. It was very difficult to communicate with her in English. I will not be coming back again. read more

I have been here twice and each time I've left with exactly what I asked for. There is no hair wash and it's a mostly dry cut. I have long (mid back) hair and my hair was cut exactly as I had asked within 20mins. The lady is very friendly and kind. I was looking for a place to get a quick decent haircut at a reasonable price. I just moved here this past year and it was over 8 months since my last cut. I've been holding out till I went back home but I couldn't stand the split ends anymore. With a new baby, time was at a premium but I had a small slot of time. Rajna is very personable and sweet professional and business woman. I trusted her judgement right away and didn't direct her. She fit me in and juggled many things at once to accommodate me. Even accommodating my wish list to add a hair wash and eyebrow threading. I feel like a brand new woman! Everything was good and efficient. I could nitpick about little things here and there but I knew what my expectations were at this price point and I would say she exceeded my expectations. The owner is extremely rude, I have never been treated so poorly. Ranjna refused to serve me as a walk-in client and refused to book me an appointment because "I don't keep my appointments" (for the record, I did not show up once for an eyebrow threading after she told me to "come back in 45 minutes or so and I might be free". She did not even write this down as an appointment. I had a work emergency and could not make it. I had been through this with her before and come back when she instructed and STILL had to wait 25 minutes for my threading. ) I had been coming to her salon consistently for 2.5 years. In front of 3 clients and her receptionist/hairdresser she said to me "normally people pay when they miss an appointment, I won't take you." (She had never called me about the missed appointment or mentioned this when she asked me to "come back in about 45 minutes". ) Despite what the sign on the door says walk-ins are not welcome. Now I know most salons at the mall charge around 25-40+ for long hair that's with a wash and blow dry. I wanted a dry cut no wash or style, that wouldve still cost me 25-30 and I just didn't want to spend that much on a dry cut so I did a walk in. The owner who cut my hair was good. She didn't cut it too short which was my worse fear. Cut came to $17 with tax I tipped her $5 because she didn't cut it too short like other dressers and she told me she works 7 days a week!! Jeez lady you so crazy but that's owning a business. Anywhos I took one star out because the other hair dressers kid was annoying the heck outta me constantly asking me to read her a book and kept bothering me. I've been going to see Ranjna for a few years now and have always been very satisfied! She is always cheerful, polite and professional. She treats you fairly and is honest. If you're not fair or honest or polite to her, I suggest you go somewhere else. Also I've always noticed at how well she books enough time for my and other clients' appointments. I've never felt rushed or had other clients waiting for her to finish my hair quickly. She doesn't rush you in and out of the chair like some hair salons. She takes the time to listen and accommodate to your requests. I think she has a large following of loyal clients because of her positive attitude, professionalism, and of course, her hair stylist skills. I am very happy with my new haircut. It's straight and even. The location is accessible by transit. The price was reasonable. Cons: - the stylist talked a lot to others while cutting my hair. I came across this establishment when I lived right down the block. Over the last 3 years, I've seen the business evolve from the owner working alone late at night, to a busy salon with several employees. Clearly things are heading in the right direction. I moved from the area but I continue to go to Ranjina. Being a guy, convenience is important to me. I make sure to call ahead to setup an appointment. My hair cuts are always consistent, and the owner is always friendly regardless of how busy she is. She is accommodating, and takes great care in even the simplest of cuts. read more

If you walk in for a hair-related service u will get an awesome treatment because you pay more. However, if it is a threading related service she will give you utmost attitude because it is not an expensive service.
