My friends and I were craving OC and saw this place on yelp so we decided to give them a try. When we arrived we saw the place packed with custome. Turns out all of the people in there were friends or family members. The service was barely service. We didn't even get water until we walked up to the counter and ask for the water. They also gave us dirty/smelly bowls and plates. When we asked for new ones she tried to tell us that it was clean. After we received our food, we never saw a waiter or waitress again. They did not give us any water refills or anything. Refilling water is the bare minimum for service. They were sitting and chatting with their friends and there was a waitress vaping behind the register. When we were done, we went up to pay and stood up there for a while before flagging someone down to ring us up to pay. Food was okay. We enjoyed the Chao ga and goi ga. The OC we got (I forgot the name of it) was good but $20 for the amount of OC we got was not worth it. The com chien dac biet was also good. We did not tip due to the poor service. The food was already overpriced with small portions for the seafood. When I left I heard the lady that rang us up say "they didn't even tip" to the people inside the restaurant. As a number of other people have mentioned, this restaurant is on the pricer side, but I think something to note is that the menu price is inclusive of tax and tip. So, in the end I would say the pricing is fair considering the head chefs sources these snails from Vietnam. That being said, all the dishes here are amazing! My personal favorite were the coconut snails (Oc Len Xao Dua). The staff mostly only speaks Vietnamese, but I think you can get by with english or google translate. If you want to experience some authentic, raw Vietnamese culture in San Jose, this is it. It's a little food truck with outdoor seating set up, which are the little vietnamese tables and stools. The seating is right next to the grills, which are also covered by tarps for shade, but then those tarps make it feel extra hot since it traps all the heat. Their specialty are clams and sea snails! However, most of it is frozen. All dishes are $20. The flavors were yummy, but the portions were small. I went with my parents and we easily devoured 7 dishes. I didn't have high expectations for this place because I read that the snails are mostly frozen (imported from Vietnam). My husband and I went last night and noticed a good amount of people. I like the street food concept, except it's not cheap here at all. We ordered 4 dishes: ốc len xào dừa (snails in coconut sauce), nghêu hấp Thái (clams), ốc giấy xào bơ bắp (snails with butter and corn), and Japanese surf clams . I really enjoyed the snails in butter and corn dish, but be careful, the broth is hot! My husband and I practically burned our tongues. You can skip the snails in coconut sauce--the sauce was not thick enough, it was lacking in flavor, and barely had any snails. If you like this dish, I actually liked the ones at Oc Cay Dua restaurant a lot more. The other 2 dishes were just okay, I thought the aftertaste of the clams was a bit off. Dipping sauces could use improvement as well. If you pay with cash, you won't have to pay taxes although they do take credit cards. Each dish was about $20-$25.
