Brings you back to Vietnam! Been going here since it was a good truck and love the vibes ever since!

As a number of other people have mentioned, this restaurant is on the pricer side, but I think something to note is that the menu price is inclusive of tax and tip. So, in the end I would say the pricing is fair considering the head chefs sources these snails from Vietnam. That being said, all the dishes here are amazing! My personal favorite were the coconut snails (Oc Len Xao Dua). The staff mostly only speaks Vietnamese, but I think you can get by with english or google translate. I also loved the plastic chairs and tables you dine on. It feels like you're transported to the streets of Vietnam!

If you want to experience some authentic, raw Vietnamese culture in San Jose, this is it. It's a little food truck with outdoor seating set up, which are the little vietnamese tables and stools. The seating is right next to the grills, which are also covered by tarps for shade, but then those tarps make it feel extra hot since it traps all the heat. Their specialty are clams and sea snails! However, most of it is frozen. All dishes are $20. The flavors were yummy, but the portions were small. I went with my parents and we easily devoured 7 dishes. Along with 2 drinks, our total was $149, which is pretty steep.

They said it was 3 Coronas, but it tasted flat and flavorless. Worse than draft beer. Not worth $10.

I really tried to give this place a chance, but wow... what a disappointment. First off, the food was just meh -- nothing stood out. Bland flavors, average quality, nothing that makes you want to take a second bite, let alone come back. For $20, I expected at least a decent portion not a children's bowl. And get this -- you'd think for that price, at least there'd be some kind of service. Nope. You have to grab your own tray and stick like you're at a school cafeteria, except you're paying restaurant prices for street food effort. The whole setup felt lazy and rushed, like they know people will come once and never return -- and they're right, because I won't be back. Save your money. There are plenty of places with better food, better value, and at least a hint of hospitality.

Ốc is fresh and reasonable price. Great service and atmosphere. The owner here is very nice and even offer us to sing Karaoke. Overall, this place reminds me of my childhood in Saigon.

The food here is so fresh, so flavorful, and the service was amazing. It makes me feel as if I were eating in Vietnam! If you ever come to San Jose, you cannot skip this place.

Snail dishes and fermented fish hotpot are all really tasty. Price is reasonable for the quality of fresh seafood.

What a wonderful treat! I was visiting friends out in San Jose and we were looking for a Cajun…read morespot. Fortunately, it was open late and was next to some boba as well. We went in at 9 pm on a Friday night with a group of eight of us. Please note that the restaurant is tiny so it did take sometime while we waited for our table, but we did not wait too long. There was plenty of parking spots in the plaza and the restaurant was a little loud, but it was a small place for a bunch of people dining in on a late evening. The service was great. They were checking in whenever we were ready to order and answering all of our questions. Because our group was so large, we did have to squish into a small table, but it did not make the food any less delicious. They had a special where we could choose 4 pounds of any types of shrimp, mussels, crawfish, clam. This was a great deal, and I wish I knew to order more. Once we were finished with this 4 pounds... We ordered some more. I believe we ordered with the Louisiana sauce at medium and it was to die for. We also tried the sweet California, but I thought it was just OK. To be honest, it was a little bit too sweet for me, but everyone's taste differ. We also ordered the basil clams and they were also delicious but they did come pretty late into a meal. My friends that don't eat seafood, enjoyed the lamb chops, the chicken wings, the garlic noodles and some other dishes. All in all, I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a great spot to enjoy with friends and I am so grateful that it was open late night. I am already thinking about the next time I come to visit San Jose to eat some more.

Very much gen z service here. We got garlic noodles and the 4lb combo (2lbs crawfish, 1lb shrimp, 1lb mussels) with medium spice Sweet California sauce. The garlic noodles are very homey and uniquely Vietnamese. They remind me a lot of my mom's cooking. I don't recommend the crawfish right now because they were so small and overcooked. However the shrimp was plump and sweet, so I wish we got more of that instead. There were a bunch of empty shells in our bag because the actual mussels fell out. It's very crowded seating inside the restaurant. Parking is easy at night but during the day, the plaza is extremely crowded.

The seafood was well-seasoned with a nice spicy kick, and our noodles were very garlicky (in a good way). The chicken tenders were also flavorful, but a bit dry (I still like it btw). The only small downside was that the crawfish had a bit of a fishy taste, but it wasn't enough to ruin the meal since the seasoning was still really good. The shrimp, on the other hand, were delicious and cooked perfectly. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, great for groups. It was pretty busy when we arrived, which says a lot about how popular the place is, but we were still able to enjoy our meal comfortably. The service was efficient despite the crowd, we didn't have to wait for too long. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again!

The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.

BOT CHIEN KHOAI MON $14 -fried taro cake with egg. It's topped with shredded papaya, green onions and fried little bread croutons. Sweet soy dipping sauce, chili sambal and pickled shredded daikon / carrots were given on the side. OK overall, the taro cake was too dense and heavy for me. The dipping sauce was delicious though. I think I would have preferred the original rice cake version. The portion was kinda small for the price tag. 3/5* CHA CA CHIEN (2) $12 -fried fish cake taco. It's basically fish paste smeared on rice paper, folded in half and deep fried. It came with sweet and sour sauce. Pretty good, different but again, hefty price tag for what you get. It's more like a snack. 3/5* The lady taking our order was super friendly. She gave us a free sample of their crispy rice with pork floss. She also noticed that we had our toddler with us so she asked if we wanted extra napkins, plates and water. I would come back to try their regular bot chien if we were already dining in the Lion Food Court.

After today's visit, though... I finally understand why the second location closed. Ordered: Shackie's Sauce (Hot) Shrimp & Mussels Combo Snow Crab Clusters Garlic Noodles Garlic Fries The seafood boil was nowhere near the quality it used to be. The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. Now they've definitely toned the flavor down, and they're just not the same anymore. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorite seafood spots. The food quality has clearly declined while the prices have continued to go up. I hope they can get back to what made this place so good, but based on today's experience, I can't recommend it anymore.
