This is my favorites places to eat when I am home in the Portsmouth area(only a short drive away). All of there food is beautiful, healthy, and tasty. I ALWAYS end up ordering the Fiesta Bowl, which is my favorite, packed with many important and delicious nutrients. I have also ordered their smoothies which are equally as wonderful. The small intimate cafe is filled with great spirt and the outside patio area is lovely. It is inspiring to read the quotes that they have posted on the wall. I love Laney and Lu's mission and am inspired that they carry it out with ease. Yayy to healthy food that has a sustainable impact on the environment! read more

It's a vegetarian cafe located in downtown Exeter but confusing to find as it's in the Back of a house right by the public parking lot in the middle of town. There's some outdoor seating available and some tables inside but it's small inside. Service was friendly. You place an order, pay and you'll get a sign as they'll bring the dishes to your table. Don't know if they have a bathroom available. It's only open during the day. Like many vegetarian dishes, prices are a bit Expensive but the food is filling and good. Eating vegetarian dishes is fine but the relatively high prices can be off putting for many. read more

Great little hidden gem. But I guarantee it won't stay hidden for long. Great lattes, acai bowls and egg sandwiches. Picked up a muffin too because it looked too good to resist (haven't tried it yet but based off of everything else, I'm pretty sure it'll be absolutely delicious). I love going to Laney & Lu on weekends with my friends. The food is phenomenal and the smoothies are some of the best I've ever had. Everything is very healthy, which is a big plus. The only downsides are that the prices are a little high, especially for the smoothies, and there isn't enough seating, given the place's popularity. They do have a to-go option, which is very helpful. In general, I highly recommend checking this place out! read more

Really good strong chai with unique blend of flavors. The pumpkin açaí bowl had roasted pumpkin, cacoa nibs; and toasted granola and walnuts. A good mix of crunch and sweet. Fun cozy atmosphere and quick service. read more

I frequently take the 40 minute drive out to Exeter just for Laney and Lu. This little cafe tucked into historic downtown Exeter is absolutely the most charming place to eat in the area. The owner (whose name I forget) is an incredibly kind woman, obviously passionate about eating, creating, and providing wholesome food. There are many vegan options as well as options for those who eat dairy and eggs. The nori rolls are excellent, as well as the epic egg sammy. Don't leave without trying the turmeric latte. You won't be disappointed. read more

But the main grip was the egg sandwich, it was only a 1/2 sandwich, 1 slice of bread....it is not described on the menu as 1/2. Enormous Salad was a normal dinner salad of lettuce & fixings nothing special, and not a meal, it's all relative. The wrap was the only food item that was good size, but very little Falafel, they forgot the yogurt dressing and red onions. For the amount of food, it's overpriced. read more

Went here yesterday for the first time with a friendly who was also dying to try it out...needless to say we are now huge fans! I got the Nori Roll - it was fabulous! Tasted great & good for you! My (almost) 2 year old daughter was a big fan of the Pineapple Mango smoothy. And the blueberry strawberry muffin was 4 year old approved! My friend also said the Chai smoothie was delicious and filling! I will definitely go back and have already told a co-worker that its a 'must try'! The only downfall was that indoor seating only sits about 13 tightly, but there is outdoor seating as well (happened to be snowing though)! I assume the nice weather will make this place very busy! This place is awesome. Exeter has such cool places, and Laney & Lu is truly unique. I had a smoothie bowl, a latte, and my boyfriend had a smoothie. One of the best smoothies I have ever had in my life, I believe it was the Sweet Green. I really want to try the turmeric latte. The seating is limited, but the space is clean and cute. I wish they were open longer during the afternoon because I would certainly make the drive there past 4 pm. read more

Amazing little spot in downtown Exeter. It has a very cozy inside with limited seating, so plan accordingly. When it's nice outside, there is a lovely outdoor patio with seating. Good healthy food, but the girl on register totally messed up my order and never asked me if I use Clover app to get points. I spent a lot of money, and would have liked the points. I asked for the dressing to put on the side of both my salads and she put on side only on one and then smothered my salad with a ton of dressing. I couldnt even finish it. used to love laney and lu. but these days the staff is uptight, stuck up, and rude. the way the food is made is inconsistent, and you never know what you're going to get. the wait for the food to be made is extremely long, considering most of the time once you get your food it does not even seem like much time was put towards its preparation. I swear I could swim in my smoothie bowl, it was borderline liquid and I felt like I was eating baby food, not to mention there was no taste that came close to fruit. read more

If you are looking for truly healthy and a well balanced meal, go here! The flavor profiles on the menu are unlike anything I've seen around here. I wanted to try one of everything on the menu. It's not like those other "healthy" cafes where the smoothies are loaded w/ sugary fruit juices and fat based sauces on their sandwiches. I went with a friend for lunch and we sat outside on a very lovely patio. We went on the very first Saturday they were open. The food was a little slow to come out but we barely noticed because it was worth the wait.
