Cheaper hardware, lower grade lumber, lower quality stain, lower height, flimsy gates, and most importantly less experienced crews that are paid to build things FAST - not build things WELL. You get what you pay for. Not the least of which is a willingness to make changes and repairs to make sure the customer is 100% satisfied. In my case I was concerned that the cut out for the tree limb was too close and did not allow enough room for growth. That part of the fence was IMMEDIATELY redone to my satisfaction. No argument. Armando gave a prompt estimate and there were no surprises or upcharges. Price quoted. Price paid. I have to give special admiration to Armando's gates. This gate is like no other fence gate I have used. The solid feel is sooooo satisfying, sometimes I have to close it more than once when I go through it!!! The fence failed inspection because it was not installed in compliance with code. We have spent more than six months trying to resolve these issues directly with the company. Despite repeated requests, they have refused to correct the problems, forcing us to hire and pay another fencing company to bring the fence into legal compliance. They also installed a gate that swings the wrong direction and failed to install the required self-closing hardware on the walk-through gate for our pool fence. Our experience has been frustrating and expensive. We expected a safe, code-compliant installation but instead were left with significant safety and code violations that another contractor had to correct. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Flores Fencing.
