I would consider exploring other options…read more Upon having our transmission rebuilt and rear main seal replaced by Gears we had an immediate oil leak from rear main seal (approximately 1 quart every 2 hours). Gears Transmission indicated they were not obligated to warranty rear main seal leak (in which they replaced). After 4 weeks of constant calls, broken promises to remedy, paying for repairs out of my pocket and pursuing legal action for reimbursement I finally received reimbursement for warranty work. To make matters worse, a broken bolt was discovered from seal install, meaning they broke a bolt and attempted to hide during installation. In addition, a loose bolt in transmission bell housing was also found. During transmission repair and warranty claim, Gears was horrible about providing updates; they only called/ returned our calls two times over this 9-week process. Granted, we travelled cross country day after receiving truck with rebuilt transmission and Gears had to use another shop to perform warranty repairs; however we had to take truck to 2 different shops of their choice so they could obtain multiple quotes and we ended up paying for repairs out of pocket after they reneged on paying their bill to vendor of their choice. Only after beginning legal proceedings did I receive reimbursement for main seal replacement.

I don't talk shi about anyone but right is right. Scott ohms if u see this post and do not get in touch then I know what kind of business u run I heard good things about your shop and that's the only reason I got y'all to work on it . Pretty sure my warranty is still good so show me what kind of business u run. U should have my phone number there last name is S pierce it's not been a year I still have my paperwork so holler and make it right. Been debating on doing this but anytime I drive the truck it just makes me mad cause it don't work like it should. Have not rated it yet cause I want to see what happens

Took trans out and back up there.. not only did they use the same torque converter from the first rebuild (I bought and provided). They refused to replace converter and swore it was good, but blamed it on me and made me pay an additional $150. Long story short it's went back a total of 3 times, two tow bills, and $1250+ my $900 torque converter it still isnt fixed. They claimed they fixed it but it throws the same code and has done the same thing 3 times now!! They definitely try to do the bare minimum and tries to blame others for their mess ups

It had 109,931 miles. Today 6/24/2023 at 111,321 I had everything checked out at Valvoline just to find it was never flushed! Plus it was about 1 - 2 quarts over (pictured)! I got ripped! I personally watched Valvoline suck the old fluid out that clearly showed black old fluid (pictured attached).. I'm so disappointed! Pictured is what the transmission fluid looks like and the pink is what it should look like with less than 1,400 miles. My daughter just got her license a week ago. Since then it sat in the driveway hardly driven for 3 months! Pictured is the tube as the fluid is being sucked out, it's clearly black-less than 1400 miles! Aamco is refusing to do refund. Lawsuit filed. We'll settle this in court. The evidence is clear. Anyone who knows anything about cars know the transmission fluid stay pinkish-red for over 80,000 miles!!

These guys are very expensive, if you have money to burn this is the place to go. I have a 2006 Kia…read moreSpectra I had them replace a backup light switch. They did a good job work wise, but they took me for a ride on the price. They charge a 74.99 fee for inspection which they are supposed to wave if you let them fix your car. I could get the backup light switch for 32.99 at any auto parts store, charged me 85.55 for the part. I asked the guy there why the part cost so much and he told me that was because 12 month, 12 thousand mile warranty. So, the warranty costs more than the part being replaced. That's over 50 dollars for a warranty for a part that costs 32.99. I'll try anybody once, I myself will not be back.

Didn't even make it 20 minutes down the road before it broke down and wouldn't start. On top of that the transmission fluid that was supposed to be "topped off" was bone dry. The staff and owner were very rude each time I inquired about my vehicle as it was in their shop for 3 weeks. Do not recommend taking your vehicle here if you actually want it fixed. Also they will quote you one price and charge was more than that quote. If I could give zero stars I would most definitely!

Long post...If I could leave zero stars I would. Doing business with this place is one of the…read morebiggest mistakes I have ever made. RUN FROM THIS PLACE! My experience began with me being told Hitech was the ONLY place in Chattanooga which could rebuild my transmission, and do it for 2/3 of what anyone else would charge. Several phone calls later in which I was told, "we are waiting on the parts," and 5 weeks later found a re-manufactured tranny installed with extra repairs and a price tag 20% over what a brand new, dealership installed tranny would have cost me...at the dealership! I was notified to return two weeks later for a tranny checkup. A personal issue/emergency delayed my return at three weeks instead of two with the tranny acting up. After Hitech examined the tranny, they informed me a sensor was leaking and 1/2 tranny fluid had leaked from the tranny (this was a sensor which HiTech replaced at the time of the initial tranny repair). I paid to replace the sensor (again), 2x what it would have costs me elsewhere, and relayed that there was not a drop of fluid in my driveway where the car had been parked for about 10 days while we tended to the previously mentioned out of town issue. A couple weeks (yes...a couple weeks...these guys are not fast at all) later I get the car and it continues to act up. A trip to both another tranny mechanic and a dealership led to me being told the tranny is bad. I then dropped off the car at Hitech again, relaying my findings. 5-6 weeks later I spend an entire week trying to reach them only to have them tell me they had been trying to reach me the entire time, yet I had neither a missed call nor text message (this happened continually during my dealings with Hitech). After a brief and condescending synopsis of the situation from them, I was informed that I had breached my warranty by bringing the car to him at 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks and the fluid loss was my fault (remember...no fluid in driveway where car sat for over a week and HiTech installed the "faulty" part). As a result he voided and refused to honor the warranty, telling me, "we like to deal with customers who follow directions." Stay away from this place! They stretch the truth, are incredibly condescending, will overcharge you and they have no concept of good customer service, and will ARGUE with everything you say! I do not know how they stay in business and wish I had read posted reviews before I took the car to them as an unfavorable percentage of reviews are negative and are eerily similar to mine! Again, take your car anywhere but this place!
