Very expensive. Needed cook top igniter repaired. On the positive side, the tech, Bill, was prompt, polite and knowledgeable. On the negative side is the cost. The price, which I paid, just for inspection and to provide estimate was $120. This would NOT be applied to cost of repair which he estimated would be another $850+. That would have brought the total cost to fix the igniter to almost $1000.00. I chose to use another company. read more

I called around noon on Friday asking for help with my Bosch dishwasher. A service technician was at my front door within an hour. My husband and I are fairly handy and we had made several attempts to fix the problem on our own so we know it wasn't a simple repair. Daniel, the tech, was very personable and friendly and explained the problem to us and gave us tips on how to keep the dishwasher running well. He made the repair and promised that if there is any problem with the dishwasher in the next 90 days, they will return and fix it at no charge. The cost of the repair was fair given the amount of time Daniel spent on it. This was my second experience with Landers ( a refrigerator repair several years ago) and I will not hesitate to call them again. read more

We had a burner stop igniting on our stove and called for service. After arranging a service date, a tech worked with me to diagnose the exact cause so he could order a part before the appointment. The tech who came was friendly, polite and knew exactly what to do. Everyone was helpful and appreciative of our business. I will happily use their services again. read more

Painfully expensive. Most repair shops have a service charge which is rebated if you have the service done while they are still there. Landers charges $100 just to show up, and keeps the whole $100 ON TOP of the other charges. The cost to replace a spring in a dishwasher door amounted to $300. The service person said I was getting a $50 break on the price. After the fact I researched the price, seeking estimates from other repair companies, and Landers was nearly twice as expensive. Estimates ranged from $152 to $206. In other words, Landers minus the $100 "service charge." read more

Unless you have a living social deal I would not use Landers appliance. They overcharge way too much. I paid $95 just for them to come out and turn my cold water level on my washing machine back on. What a rip off! There are other companies that are just as good that don't charge $90+ for a service call. read more

I gave a 1 because zero wasn't available. My mother, who is 82, had a dryer repaired. It was a fuse and the entire service cost $292.21. The part is 17$ online from Samsung and when I called I was told the part cost 50$ to the appliance store. Even at $50 it is a far cry from 292. Beware--These people are price gougers. i called the store on behalf of my Mother and they tried to justify this, but there is no justification. Don't deal with this company. read more

Landers charged me $99 for driving to my home to tell me that they didn't know what part to order for my Sub-Zero (worn out freezer door gasket). Two hours later I had found a helpful out of state Sub-Zero distributor who, without even seeing my fridge, had narrowed it down to two possibilities. I bought both ($53/each), had them shipped overnight, put on the correct one in about an hour, and sent the wrong one back for a refund. I wish I could give the other distributor credit for such great customer service, but I promised to keep their name out of it so they don't get in trouble with Sub-Zero. I spent less fixing the problem than Landers charged for doing nothing but look at it. Landers was simply unwilling to help with what turned out to be a pretty easy job. read more

I called Landers for a washing machine that was leaking. They were able to fit me in the same day and the tech (Steve) was very nice and knowledgeable. He troubleshot the problem and when he was unable to initially replicate it, he asked me questions which led him to the issue. They do charge a service fee of $99, but I thought it was reasonable for what he did. read more

Ohmygosh, I loved working with Landers Appliance! I had been trying to fix a part on a refrigerator for YEARS. I called Sears, Whirlpool, and other local appliance guys, but no one would help me because the model and serial numbers were scratched off the back of the fridge. Landers Appliance asked me to send pictures via email, helped me figure out what model and serial number it was, sold me new parts, and then took the returned parts I didn't need! All in a timely fashion! They were wonderful! Use them! read more

Went to get a new dishwasher. The selection isn't bad thought it's pretty much all Whirlpool and Maytag units. Prices are competitive with the big box stores, some units were cheaper some were more expensive. The sales guy seemed to be a bit, overwhelmed is the word i suppose i am looking for. But he was nice and helpful. Only problems i can see is that it's a bit out-of-the-way not the easiest place to find, in an industrial park on the opposite side of the beltway from the old Golden Ring Mall. It did feel good giving a local business my patronage as opposed to a big box. read more

Wife recommended them for our gas dryer replacement. They made the entire buying, delivery and installation process easy. They did such an excellent job that we went right back to Landers and contracted with them to replace our gas cooktop. Highly recommended! read more

When my refrig went on the fritz, most service providers could not respond for several days. Landers responded within a few hours. The technician was on time, professional and very competent. He diagnosed and repair my refrig within an hour. The cost was reasonable and I believe competitive; about $350. I would recommend Landers, a smaller, family owned company. The big & popular guys were way too busy to respond in a timely manner. When your refrig in not cooling, you really can not go days without service. The fee paid for the repair was equal to the lost of food I would have experienced if Landers did not respond and repair my refrig the same day. read more

I will never again shop at Landers Appliance. I feel I was taken advantage of and did not receive any of the customer service they pride themselves on. read more

We called Lander's Appliance to fix a problem with our stove after seeing them in a past issue of Best of Baltimore. They were able to schedule us quickly, and they actually did call when the technician was on his way. The technician had to come back out after ordering a part to finish the job, and I was able to go to work that day. They called me, as promised, when he was 45 minutes away, and I was able to leave work and get home in time. It was really nice not to have to sit at home all day waiting around for a repairman to show up. read more

Catherine J. I love Landers appliance. Ms. Pat Shelton is awesome with sales. Bought a stove, microwave, dishasher in 2014, and love them. Just today purchased a kitchen aid fridge. Service and installation is also great technicians are very courteous. Thanks Ms. Pat. read more

terrible all around experience with this company, if i could give them negative stars i would...their technician (who was terrible by the way) told me my dryer needed a new motor when indeed it didn't; i had another company come out and fix the problem with a simple diagnostics check which cost me $50; landers changed me a $120 service charge (which they refused to refund) and was going to charge an additional $404 for the parts and labor; they refused to acknowledge the fact they told me the motor needed replacement when it didn't, a total crock, i would stay away from them the bottom line is they tried to turn a $50 fix into a $500+ fix read more

After the ignition element went up on my GE gas oven I needed to find a new one and all the big box stores either only sold online or didn't carry them at all. I found Landers Appliance right around the corner from me. I gave them a call and spoke with a real person (Sara) who made sure I was getting the right part for my oven. They had the part in stock and when I went in to pick it up they were very nice an helpful. Sara had my part waiting for me when I walked in. I paid more than I would have if I had bought online but I don't mind paying for customer service to a local business. read more

These guys are scam artists, only concerned about making money for them , not what is best for customer. FIrst, they only do warranty Claims on items they sell , although do not tell you that. So they came out and said frig needed $1200 of work. Only cost us $50 for that info B/c also paid $100 for info on dishwasher (more below). We did some work on frig and found out it could be covered by warranty although had to get another assessment. Another company came out and agreed it was sealed system failure which was covered by warranty . That cost $100 but they did come out and fix. Note that LNders never said it could be warranty but they could not do it if it was. nice guys. On dishwasher, appliance came from mfg missing a part. LAnders assessed problem right but never mentioned that it was never there despite numerous inquiries even though this was discernible from looking at unit. when I complained they said they were right , it was missing part , and laughed when I said I thought they should have told me that it never had part and that info would have been extremely helpful, when trying to rectify issue with mfg . Once again had to pay for another assessment. . BOTTOM LINE IS NEVER NEVER USE THEM UNLESS YOU BROUGHT APPLIANCE FROM THEM B/C IF YOU DO YOU ARE THROWING AWAY YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS OR PAYING TWICE TO DETERMINE YOU HAVE ANY . AND I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WHY YOU WOULD WANT TO BUY SOMETHING FROM THIS SORT OF COMPANY read more

Overpriced. They also sold me a lemon appliance a few years back and will not stand behind it. They certainly know to charge 100$ to say Caveat emptor. When I called to complain to the owner, he had 1000 reasons why it's my error for having purchased a bad washer from THEM. As the French say, "Great talker, great liar." The owner is a great talker. Hides behind God instead of providing good customer service and trying to keep a long-time customer happy. I'll go elsewhere. They lost my respect and my business. There are other companies who are ethical. This is not one of them. read more

Charged $99 just to drive the 10 minutes to my house. Charged a total of $224 to replace a $3 part on my dryer that took about 5 minutes. Had the dryer already taken apart. Wanted an extra $20 to put back the 8 screws back. Told me you pay the same for a 5 minute repair as a 45 minute repair. Felt ripped off. Repair time should be prorated after paying the initial $99 service call. read more

We bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer from Landers, From the minute I sent an email asking a question and Pat responded through delivery today, every person was incredibly responsive. They even called me back after I bought the appliances to say they had found some kind of manufacturers' discount. The two guys who did the delivery and install today were top notch. Very friendly and courteous. It was a bear of a delivery -- doors had to be removed and then steps and more steps up, and then steps down and a turn and more steps. Lugging the old tower dryer out of the basement was even worse. Despite all the two delivery people were very professional -- I could not have been as patient. Then, to top it off, we had a plumbing problem with our old pipes that run to the washer, but they did a workaround of some kind, hooked up the washer and I was doing laundry minutes later. Id use them again in a heartbeat. read more
