I understand wanting to make money. But when you have people that live close to your bar they should not have to here the band playing tell 1 am. Some people have to work early!!! I try to be understanding but if the band is going to be outside shout it fine by 12. This makes me not want to come to your bar at all!!! I like your food but not how little you care about anyone else!!!! read more

Came in for an afternoon beer and food. We sat down at a table and after a good ten minutes of being ignored I approached the bar asking for a couple beers and menus and was met by a super rude bartender. The place was not busy so being ignored for that extended amount of time should have been our first clue that this was not going to be a good experience. We went into the restaurant to order our food which was not good even by bar food standards. I would totally suggest going to one of the other food/alcohol establishments in town and not waste your time here. read more

Great food (awesome burgers but have healthy salads too, along with other modern food---wraps, sandwiches, etc.) and local draft beer in a converted old building (true to brewpub style). Reasonable prices!! Very casual and attracts all type of folk. read more

My fiance sent an email to the event manager (Zach) to schedule our wedding reception this coming July. We got email confirmation that the date we wanted was open and good to go. Great, so we ordered our invitations and started looking for vendors to fill other needs for our special day. This is where things take a turn. Well, we send in our order for the food we want for the reception and then we get an email from first the event manager stating that we could no longer have that particular day because it was going to conflict with the international climbers' festival. Never mind the fact that we had ordered invitations and spent countless hours planning this day. The icing on the cake was an email from the owner of the establishment stating that we had been bumped even though we had booked the date weeks in advance. His excuse: "we have hosted the climbers' festival for 36 years." Perhaps they should invest in a calendar so they don't double book dates? How hard is that? I guess the hundreds of dollars in invitations and countless hours of planning around this day and venue was worth it because, while we can't use the place for our reception the owner offered his extreme gratitude and offered to cater our event. Yeah, how about no. You want to bump our date and cause us a massive problem and want us to hire you to cater? What arrogance! It's a shame I cannot give this establishment negative stars. read more

This establishment reiterates what has become of the old wild-west outpost known as Lander. Once a dusty bar where many a cowboy ordered a beer and perhaps a steak, now a thriving restaurant catering to tourists, outdoor enthusiasts and the ubiquitous cowboys ordering designer salads, hamburgers with the choice of five or more of different cheeses, pizzas and microbrews. Decor was of the kitchy wild-west sort. Most of the patrons had cowboy hats on and were eating pizza. However, this bar also plays host to the NOLS outdoor crowd and any weekend night it is a interesting sampling of local cowboys and hippies. I unfortunately ordered a burger and fries, which was not completely disappointing, it was that everyone else was eating pizza. My burger was deliciously made with Wyoming beef, generally portioned with a side of decent fries and a load of proper condiments. Other entrees include salads and nachos, everything about ten bucks or a little more. Lander Bar is a must for post-forays into the Wind River Wilderness and makes every other restaurant in Lander seem like Denny's. read more

A colleague and I were in Lander for a training event. On the last day we decided to pop in and get a drink. I stood on the right side of the bar and was continuously ignored. I realized people standing near the center were getting service. So I moved over to the center to wait my turn. Once I was there the bartender started serving people on the right side of the bar. After being ignored for 10+ minutes we left. Not worth it. read more

The Lander Bar is perhaps the best bar in Fremont County, Wyoming. I am happy to say that this is where I bought my first beer after turning 21, but I have been going to Gannett Grill, the adjoining restaurant, for years. I am jealous for a good burger, and this place will not fail your taste buds, add a bar in the mix and things get much better. The only thing, it seems, to dislike is the closing time. The atmosphere is liberating and kind. My servers and bartenders have been more than willing to make the most of their job, always offering helpful advice and suggestions on dining and drinking. I have not had a horrible experience with the workers to date, and I assume that will carry on. I appreciate that they have local brews on tap, and that in a wide selection. I'd recommend having at least a few pints of the Atlantic City Gold. The food is above superior quality, and yet is never pretentious. That is to say, it won't cost you a fortune to have quality ingredients come together to form a healthy and satisfying plate. The regulars are good, decent people, and there has not been any ghastly incidents since I have been here with others patrons. The place is always clean, which is nice for a germaphobe like me. Make the most of your time while here, have a few beers, enjoy a burger, watch the latest sports game on one of the many tubes, converse with people from different backgrounds, reserve the upper room for a private soirée, and never be afraid to ask for help or another pint; go to Lander Bar! read more

I have two words to describe what this business lacks: screen doors. We ate here in August and there were more flies inside the establishment than outside. Flies landed on my beer, which until that moment was looking pretty tasty, and they landed on my fries and my burger too. My wife couldn't tell the raisins from the flies in her salad. Flies swarmed over every table in the bar and the Gannett Grill next door too. Maybe this place is okay in the winter when the flies are all dead, but I imagine that given the number of flies in there in the summer, the last remaining living flies in Wyoming come December are holed up in the Lander Bar waiting to repopulate the state. read more
