I contacted many pool builders in the high desert and I am so happy I went with Landau pools. He listened to what we wanted and came up with the perfect pool and spa. From day one, he was always honest and realistic. He adjusted our wants with our budget. Construction started quickly. All of his contractors were very respectful of our property and our time. We did have a couple issues arise (with it being such a major construction, I would expect something to happen) but Bobby handled them all. He contacted who he needed to contact and was always on top of everything. Bobby even had my husband get into the pool to measure exactly how he wanted the bar stools to make sure it fit him perfectly! He also made sure to wait at the site while they were pouring concrete to allow my family to place their hand prints in the concrete (I told him this on day one and he remembered that it was super important to me). Any questions I ever had he was always willing to answer. Even if he didn't answer his phone the same day he would call me right back the next and believe me, I had ALOT of questions. When everything was finished, he taught me how to use the pump, how to test for chemicals, how to add chemicals and much more. If I were to do it all over again I would choose Landau pools hands down. If you are looking for an AMAZING pool builder look no further. Worth every penny. read more

We had nothing but problems with Bobby Landau at Landau Pools. He never came out to inspect the work, complaining about gas prices. He would only drive to Barstow to pick up checks for payment, which could have been mailed. The concrete coping had several cracks and he did not want to replace those pieces. Luckily his concrete sub replaced them. In the end, the tile sub chipped another piece of coping, which they patched. We were left with one piece that will probably break soon. He would not tile the back of the water feature, he left exposed plumbing which we had to fight to get covered for safety reasons as well as visual. He did not communicate the proper depth of the tanning ledge to any subs and it was formed incorrectly. We had to fight to get it fixed. He did not fill in the cracks near the drain outside the pool. His tile sub filled the cracks between coping and deck in the wind and sand mixed in the filler so it took 5 days to set. It looks terrible. We never changed our mind and almost every conversation was via text so he would have a written reminder but he still just did whatever he wanted instead of what we originally planned for our custom pool. It seems he just wanted to go with the same thing he does for everyone. Anytime there was an issue his first response was that nothing could be done about it. He screamed at me on the phone and later apologized, only to do it again. He made the process a nightmare. Would not recommend him to my worst enemy. read more

I compared roughly 8 pool builders in my area and decided to go with Bobby and his company. His pricing was fair and his design was the best one of the bunch. Once contract was signed we knocked out the project in 6 weeks. Bobby kept me in the loop at every stage and was easy to get a hold of when we had questions about anything. If I could give ZERO stars, I would have. We couldn't be more disappointed and disgusted with our entire pool build process. The attitude and lack of professionalism from Bobby Landau at Landau Pool Construction was unbelievable and unacceptable. Bobby Landau was down right nasty with us. We were constantly pushed off, ignored, laughed at, yelled at, cussed at, threatened and hung up on. Bobby purposely pushed our pool build out so we wouldn't have the pool ready for one of our daughters 16th Birthday and our other daughters High School Graduation/party. He had no problem expressing that to us either. Whenever we expressed concern with the pool build, he would get mad and threaten us not to finish our pool. Then he would tell us that if we had a problem with him, we could take it up with the Contractors State Licensing board (which we have). Bobby informed us that he is having a home built out of state and he will be closing his business, yet he is still building pools and pushing his "lifetime" warranty, knowing he cannot or will not honor it. When I asked Bobby how we will get any type of warranty work done when he moves away, again his answer was to take it up with the Contractors State License Board. He was mostly non existent the entire build, mostly showing up to collect his checks. He charged us so much money up front at every stage of the build that we couldn't even have someone else finish up the job if we wanted to. My husband has been in construction most of his work life and he has NEVER dealt with such an unprofessional company as Landau Pool Construction and that's putting it nicely. He talked poorly about all of his past customers/pool builds the entire time we dealt with him, bragging about how he put them in their place and how difficult they were to deal with. We had/have so many issues with our pool and Bobby REFUSED to correct them. He literally told us that our pool could have been totally custom, but he didn't do it because he didn't like the way things were going. When you pay as much as we did for this pool, it should be custom, period! I have too many pix and incidents to post/list. At one point Bobby threatened to shut down the job, simply because we were taking pix and videos of the job/work being performed. He also REFUSED to wear a mask the entire build, even though it was mandatory by San Bernardino County. NIGHTMARE BUILD/HUGE MISTAKE! read more
