The owner of the company looked at our problem and was able to arrange the repair that same afternoon even though they already had a full schedule. They had a new leaf spring for our trailer in their inventory and were able to have it installed on the trailer within an hour. Speken Iron and Metal specializes in trailer repair and their work and professionalism show it. This company could have really taken advantage of our situation because we had to get the repair done in order to get back on the road. The cost for the repair including the new leaf spring was very reasonable and fair. We were treated like we were a long time customer. Even though I live about 180 miles away in Eastern Colorado, I will be taking all of my trailers to Speken Iron and Metal for repairs and maintenance. We had our trailer serviced January of this year to get all the brakes done from the wiring all the…read moreway to the actual brakes themselves. Less than two months later we got into a roll over accident due to the trailer brakes failing. The job was overpriced to begin with, but I agreed to the price anyway due to convenience and the price kept going up every phone call I got while my trailer was with them. They already had the trailer so it cost my business less to have it done while there than to pick it up and take it elsewhere. During the accident my wife was 8.5 months pregnant and was forced into early pre-eclampsia labor due to the increased blood pressure from the accident. We did have another trailer repair company come out to diagnose the trailer which revealed that three out of four brakes when fully engaged were able to rotate just by a light kick to the tires. When I notified them that our lawyers and auto insurance would be in touch and I believe Mitch is the name of the gentleman that called me back, he was only worried about the name of the trailer repair company that was coming out to do the diagnostics and had no questions about our well being. My wife and I are both still going through multiple types of medical care facilities and haven't been contacted with any regard to our well being by anyone other than Parker trailers liability insurance company.
