The decor and background music gave off more of a chill coffee shop vibe rather than a typical dental office, which immediately made me feel relaxed. One thing I really appreciated was how efficient everything was. They did the X-rays right in the same room while I was lying comfortably on the bed, instead of having me move from room to room like in most traditional clinics. After the X-rays, Dr. Sam came in right away and walked me through my dental health based on the images. Dr. Sam was incredibly patient and took the time to explain my dental health in a very clear and thoughtful way. I never felt rushed or pressured into anything, it felt like the recommendations were genuinely made from a patient-first perspective, not sales-driven at all. The hygienist was also amazing, she is gentle, professional, and attentive. She kept checking in with me throughout the cleaning to make sure I was comfortable, which I really appreciated. They even had a blanket and pillow available, which was such a small but thoughtful touch that made a big difference. On top of that, the entire staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, one of the best dental experiences I've had. Highly recommend!

Went to OC Smiles on Friday 3/13/26 for a loose implant because my dentist is closed on Fridays…read more Helena was great and the only good thing i will have to say about my experience. I didn't need a diagnosis, since I told the dentist that my implant was loose. He decided to take a ct scan, charge me for it and charge me for his false "diagnosis." $290 later.. he told me I need a New crown and wanted me to pay $2900 to return for 2 more visits to "fix" it. I Declined his outrageous treatment plan, knowing my implant was just loose. I waited until Monday with no problems and went to my dentist Dr. John Vartanian (Newport Beach) who did the implant for me. He tightened the screw and I was out of there in 10 minutes for free. I believe SoCal Smiles owes me $290 back for their unnecessary scan and incorrect diagnosis. They were trying to sell me something I didn't need and I'm quite upset about how this was handled when I brought it to their attention. I would go elsewhere and not trust this place with your time or money.

Not only did Dr. Gina beat the other places in price, she is really sweet and understanding. You never feel intimidated asking questions, which I really appreciate since I'm more on the timid side. I ended up getting veneers instead of composite bonding. A lot of places will try to upsell you and have you do 6-8 teeth, but Dr. Gina recommended I only do two teeth since I'm young. She keeps up with modern technology. We did a mock up of the teeth and the veneers are made in a lab. The technology she uses also tells her how much to shave off. My veneers blend seemlessly, not bulky and the color is an exact match. The time I came to try my veneers, I asked for more of a rounded shape, and they sent it back to add more, which I really appreciate. The person who walked me into the room made me feel comfortable as I told her about all my anxiety about the dentist. At this point, I hadn't seen the dentist in a year and was overdue on cleanings. After baseline xrays and photos were taken, Dr. Rosales explained everything thoroughly. He explained the xrays and what he saw and explained why I had sensitivity issues not just that its a common thing to have snesitivities to hot/cold. Dr. Rosales also explained the plan moving forward and what he thought would be best to get on track. Before any treatment were rendured, I was explained the cost and wasn't pressured into anything I didn't feel comfortable doing. Even when I told Dr. that I was told I was due for a deep cleaning, he said he would check xrays to ensure that was needed. The deep cleaning could wait. (Yess!!) Fast forward to my cleaning appt. I'm a hot mess, anxious, but the team ensured I would be fine. The dental hygenist (amy?) was so chill and made me feel more at ease. It wasn't the typical "sit here, open your mouth"... we talked and she distracted me. She placed numbing medication all around my gums and I didn't feel anything. I got so emotional. The first time ever in my life, I wasn't holding my breath, gripping my hands, or sweating during a teeth cleaning. This right here, has changed everything. This is the dentist for life.
