I was very hesitant on leaving this review because Dr. Bui had been my dentist for over a couple years , i went in for a couple fills while he was working on me the syringe with BLUE ETCHING GEL popped open and fell in my mouth and on the side of my lip/face. Him and his assistant both gasped but didn't say anything to me , he wiped away at my lip and continued to work i started to feel a burning/painful sensation on my lip but because he didn't say anything i didn't want to be that annoying patient and figured it was just the numbing wearing off and him tugging at my lip that was causing the weird sensation . When i left he said bye don't forget to make your next appointment again not mentioning to me that my lip was super swollen and looked like it was burned. I went home and googled what it was that fell on my face and it says that it gets on the skin it's to be WASHED OFF immediately , he did not use any water for my lip/face again he just wiped it off with his glove. I spent the several weeks having to deal with this painful burn, i could barely open my mouth to talk and eat because it would cause the scabs to bleed . I now have a permanent scar and i did message the office and sent a picture they told me to come in so he can look at it but i was just so upset and mad at the fact that he didn't say anything as i was leaving knowing he was letting me walk out looking crazy with out a "hey btw, this is what happened " or to not even rinse it off knowing it can cause severe burns . I have a dentist apt for the first time since this incident and i have the worse anxiety, that's why I'm writing the review because it's not fair that i now have severe anxiety over a simple dentist visit and a permanent scar . read more

Dr. Bui is by far one of the best dentists I've been to. I have a great fear of dentists and getting dental work done, but Dr. Bui made me feel very comfortable and my concerns were heard. Because of my fear of dentist, I cannot have a procedure done without nitrous or I will freak out. I explained this to them and they were more than willing to allow me nitrous. I had a bad experience at another dentist under nitrous where I had a lot of anxiety and I explained that to Dr. Bui and he listened and continually checked on me throughout my fillings to ensure I was comfortable and doing ok. I highly recommend Dr. Bui! He is great and his staff are great as well! They sent me text messages to confirm my appointment time and were very helpful overall!! read more

Another example of Dr. Bui's ethics and professionalism. Had an appointment on a Saturday for what I thought was going to end up being a root canal for a bridged tooth. Showed up and no surprise X-Rays were in order. After reviewing them Dr. B came in and assessed my issue. Pain coming from a tooth that wasn't a tooth. It was a bridged gap. He explained the tooth I was pressing on was not a tooth. What? It hurts when I press on it... confused I ask why does it hurt then when I put pressure on it? He explains again. Sparing you all the long boring details, he prescribed me heavy antibiotics and filed down a "high" point in my bridge that was causing my gums to send a false feeling of a tooth issue. He told me he did not want do a root canal on a tooth when my problem was a gum issue. Skeptically I accepted his method of process of elimination and left with my Rx scrip in hand. Now three days later my tooth does not ache (gums I should say) because he was SPOT ON. He would have easily made 3 times as much doing a root canal from my insurance, but cares more about his patients and their loyalty and partnership in their care to make a quick buck. I'm so glad to have found Dr. B and would not recommend anyone else! Thanks Doc! read more

Where do I begin?!?! I love Dr. Bui!!!! I made an appointment after avoiding the dentist for over 5 years, knowing my teeth were in bad shape. I started my dentist visits VERY apprehensive and would almost cry just at the sound of the drill that I could hear in the waiting room. First off, Lilly, the receptionist, is the sweetest, kindest, most friendly person woman ever! She knows a lot about all of the dental procedures and would tell me all about them before anything even got started. While waiting for my appointments, she'll talk to me about all kinds of things to get my mind off whatever I was going to get done, and she treats me like family after all the visits I've made in the last couple of months. She's fantastic and I love her! Now to the actual dentistry: I had to get 3 or 4 fillings, root canal (which was not done by him), and am now in the process of getting a crown. For my first filling, Dr. Bui went REALLY slowly and calmed my nerves through every step. He talks you through everything, so you're very aware of everything going on, he numbs you thoroughly, but works quick enough so your mouth isn't in pain from being open for hours on end. He never makes you do anything you don't want to do, and will stop as soon as you make the slightest sound of you being in pain. His dental assistant, Barbara (Barbie?), is just as kind. She asks if you're okay if she thinks you're in pain or need a break, and was very kind to my parents, who I dragged there with me my first few times. (I'm a baby, ok?). All in all, I still don't ENJOY the dentist (who does?) but I love seeing Dr. Bui and his lovely staff. They are seriously the best dental staff I could ever ask for! read more

Yay! Finally a yelp for Dr. Bui's Dental Office (aka Lakeside Cosmetic Dentistry). I currently live in Nebraska for graduate school (recently moved here from Southern California) but Dr. Bui was my go-to dentist for all my dental needs. I've gone to a few dentists before, and all of them sat me down, started the dental work without telling me what they were doing and why, and then sent me home with a bill. Dr. Bui on the other hand is very personable, nice, and will explain what he is doing before he starts work on you. I couldn't agree more with David's comment about Dr. Bui taking care of his patients and their wallets (his prices are very good). I wish more dentists were like him! I never write bad reviews for anyone but this office is probably the biggest joke. You call them and they tell you that Dr. Bui is busy and his schedule is full till next month, ok please give me an appointment for next month and they'll give you a date and time. Few days before your appointment you call to make sure your appointment is still there and they tell you that your name is not even in the system.. how did you give me an appointment if you didn't even input my name in your system? And the funny thing is that you have to wait another month to get another appointment and God knows if that will be registered in the system or not. this happened to us twice in one year. Wow and I told the receptionist do I have to record my phone calls everytime I call you so I can have a proof that I got an appointment and she told me that is something you can do. Wow read more

I had my follow-up dentist appt with Dr. Bui, and as expected I was treated like a queen. Mind you, Ive had several other crowns put in before but not like Dr Bui's exemplary work. In previous years when I had crowns put in, even the permanent ones felt a lil awkward at first, I had to get use to it. However, Dr. Bui's crown didn't even feel like a crown, when he glued my porcelain crown in, it felt so natural it was beyond a perfect fit. It felt like my own natural molar. As soon as I was done with the appt I made another appt to get my other crown replaced as it is very old and damaged as well. I'm looking forward to another relaxing day at my dentist office, how often do you hear anyone say that about a dentist appt, not too often thats for sure! Dr Bui is truly amazing. He is a great dentist: cleans very thoroughly, explains details as he goes along, and knows what he's doing. He gives the patient different options: novocaine injection, liquid application, etc. He has a great personality and remembers every patient and their family (or maybe Im just special). With his new office in Tustin, he's even better because the place is really nice. Even the new restroom is amazing. Furthermore, his staff is the friendliest I've ever seen. I had zoom whitening this week and I saw results immediately. I would also like to add that I had no sensitivity pain during or after the procedure due to the fluoride toothpaste that Dr. Bui requires you to brush with for a week prior to the procedure. I called around before choosing to go with Dr. Bui and no other dentist offered this. This is part of the reason I choose to go here. Lilly was great and extremely helpful. I came down from San Jose to do the cleaning of my teeth. I was greeted by a receptionist to give me all the information needed for cleaning. The process was very easy and the results were stunning. I love Dr. Bui. He is a very thorough and explains things every step of the way. He recently made a bridge for me and it is working out real good. In the past I also had to have a crown the temporary crown fell out (after having had it on for about 3 weeks)on a Friday at 4:45 PM. I called his office, they were closed. So I called his personal cell # which he leaves on his answering machine in case you have any problems. He said he would meet me at his office in 30 minutes. He apologized because he was at Home Depot and couldn't come any sooner. :) Now, what dentist would do that? Only one who cares for his patients. He takes his time in making sure everything looks and feels as it should. If you are not happy then he is not happy. I have recommended Dr. Bui to several of my co-workers, friends and family. I came here for the first time due to a work Injury I was in pain, half of my front tooth was broken due to a plumbing tool sleping off my hand, however as soon as I arrived I noticed Dr Bui was busy with another patient but his receptionist took care of me and she made me feel very comfortable she took the necessary Xrays and sat me down in a comfortable chair as soon as she was done, Dr Bui didn't make me wait and took care of me right away, he said I needed a crown and without hesitation I agree to the treatment, it only took 2 appointments to get it done I'm very happy and satisfied you can't tell that I have a crown on my front tooth! I'm very happy and satisfied with this office, Barbara his assistant is very caring she asked me during the entire procedure if I felt ok, and Dr Bui was gentle and requested nitrous oxide to my workers comp insurance for my extreme anxiety, I recommend anyone for your dental needs especially if you are involved in a work Injury like I was. read more

With three growing girls, it has been a great challenge finding a dentist that will accommodate the whole family. Dr. Bui and his staff, Lily and Christina, have gone out of their way to help us. My husband was traumatized from childhood and one of our daughters was the same but when we came to Dr. Bui's office, all their fears were dissolved by Dr. Bui's caring attention.
