I was a patient here for several years, and my recent experience was shockingly unprofessional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At my last visit, I asked a simple question about a 7 mm periodontal pocket that had been identified by the hygienist at my previous dental office. Instead of addressing the concern, the dentist spoke to me in an extremely rude, scolding tone and moved me to another room for what felt like a lecture, not a consultation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In all my years of dental care, I have never been spoken to like that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She also became visibly upset that I had returned to my previous dentist of 25+ years to replace a couple of crowns -- even though he guarantees his own work and replaces his crowns at no cost to his patients.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My insurance only covers 60% of crowns with a yearly cap, so it made financial sense. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of understanding that, she interpreted my decision as a sign that I "didn't trust her," which was not the case at all. It came across as unnecessarily defensive and inappropriate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After this uncomfortable encounter, I requested a treatment estimate. I had to call three times over two weeks before I finally received my X-rays -- which were sent along with a dismissal letter containing inaccurate statements, including the claim that I was seeing "multiple providers."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That is simply false. I saw one outside dentist, my longtime dentist, to have his own crowns replaced under his warranty. And since my insurance only covers 2 cleanings per year, I saw the dental hygienist at my old dental office for the extra cleaning which I paid for out of pocket. (She spends a full hour doing a meticulous cleaning and also does measurements, something I have never had done at Dr. Zareh's office.) I have already decided to return to my previous dentist, even though he is out of network-- someone who communicates respectfully, explains things clearly, and treats patients like adults, not as if they've done something wrong. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Because of the rude communication, the condescending tone, the delay in receiving estimates (that had been an ongoing issue), and the unnecessary dismissal letter, I cannot recommend this office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am hoping that the office can take this review as a learning opportunity to do better, rather than continue with an unnecessary defensive stance. read more

I'm one of Dr Zareh first patients when the practice opened. She always provided me quality dental care and her office staff was amazing, then I moved away. I tried coming back to her 3-4yrs ago and she now only sees patients 1-2 days a week, [[HIGHLIGHT]]when I tried to explain to Jessica or Jane that I didn't want to see another doctor I was put on hold and left for over 10min.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came in for a cleaning and it was fine but the office staff was rude and tried charging me for services they said weren't covered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Remember I had been coming here for years and always getting a deep cleaning and not much else so [[HIGHLIGHT]]I requested my records so I could just find a new doctor closer to home. I just tried to see Dr Zareh again, I had something happen at another dentist and wanted to discuss with the Doctor if she would provide a second consultation. It took me a very long time to finally find Zareh & Zareh Dental. This little office is hidden in a strip mall that is right down the block from my house. The convenient location made choosing this office a no brainer for me. For the consultation I was called to come back for x-rays fairly quickly but after that I waited in the chair for a very long time. After meeting with Dr. Zareh her confidence in getting my teeth in tip top shape really impressed me. The dentists are very meticulous and very attentive of what dental work needs to be done. At first the dental plan that was presented to me seemed like it would take forever and be very painful, but the whole process was painless. The dental hygienist are very friendly, gentle and experienced. They take the time to ask how I am doing and explain what they are doing. The office manager, Peggy, is pretty nice too. Just double or triple check your appointments with her. Con - The dentist jump from patient to patient. I am not a fan of this because I just want to get in the chair, get all the work done, and leave. I feel that jumping around prolongs everything and takes away from individualized attention. Overall I am very happy with my new dentists. I am glad that I have finally had a positive experience and can continue maintaining my teeth like that I should. I shun pain especially at the dentist office. I imagine that's why so many of us let that part of our health care lapse. I also hate it when I go in for a filling I can see I need, but the dentist wants to do all of this other work where I can't even see an issue let alone feel it. After applying her general and cosmetic dentistry skills when my braces came off, my smile has never looked so good in my life! Dr. Negar Zareh, a female dentist who is a graduate of dentistry school at USC, is a non-aggressive general and cosmetic dentist who is super concerned about your level of comfort (pain control) as well as your total satisfaction in her office. She even has some Saturday appointments available and her office manager Peggy is great about working you into the schedule when you have that infrequent but painful dental emergency. I don't have health insurance. I needed a 4 complete implants. I had one implant in but it didn't have a crown on it. I had a partial inside my mouth that showed metal. Dr. Zareh replaced the partial in my mouth immediately. She explains exactly what she is doing and always makes sure I am ok. I've never felt so comfortable at the dentist. She replaced all of my silver fillings and I am very happy with everything. My teeth look so amazing!!!!! Very disappointing. Had a teeth cleaning done; Dr. Zareh spent all of about 5 minutes. Depends on the type of insurance you have. Mine does not pay much; cleanings are covered, and are a necessity. I would not recommend having anything complicated done here; just stick to Xrays and simple fillings. Better off going to Mexico to get your dental treatment. read more

So my work was cutting off our dental insurance and I thought, might as well get a check up while I'm still covered! Since I'm the scardiest cat there is, I searched Google for a dentists' office both close to my house and sensitive to patients with high anxiety and a low pain tolerance. I soon decided on this place, and I'm not disappointed. The office is located in a shabby strip mall, but inside, is clean and welcoming. Everyone here - from the front desk, to the dental assistants, and even my actual dentist - put me at ease (well at as much ease you can possibly be while strapped down to a dental chair, anyway). Two relatively painless procedures later (bonding and deep cleaning), I was out the door with a renewed confidence in my ability to face my fears. Hah! Not only did I have to wait 40 minutes to be seen by Dr. Zareh even though I had an appointment. I was refused service when all I asked for was a simple filling. She was unwilling to work on my mouth unless I was getting a crown(because we all know it cost way more and she can make more money taking advantage of our dental insurance). On my first visit Dr. Yin had assessed that I needed a crown on a different tooth without even physically looking at my teeth which left a sour taste in my mouth but decided to give them another chance. Makes me feel like they are just trying to charge people for things they probably do not need and even if I do need a crown a 2nd opinion would never hurt. Also my dental insurance won't cover another crown this year as my wife has eaten up most of our maximum coverage for the year, so I would need the filling put In the meantime anyway. read more

Haiku dentist review: Painless procedures // Polite and engaging staff // No condescension Zareh and Zareh is the best dental practice I've been to. My first visit entailed an exam with Dr. Zareh herself, who was very polite and had a straightforward (but not rude) demeanor. In the past, I've seen some very condescending dentists who treat you like you're child, somehow functioning in the adult world, because you've come in with a cavity. There's was none of that here. No guilt trips or supercilious looks of pity. Just a straightforward diagnosis and suggested options of treatment. Half the reason I dislike dentists is the guilt! Well, check that off the list. When I came back to have work done I was in the care of Dr. Wong, who incredibly nice and compassionate. The other half the reason I hate dentists is the unannounced bolt of pain that shoots up your nerve endings part way through a procedure because the office decided to skimp out on a reasonable dosage of local anesthetic. Not this time. I didn't feel a thing, and Dr. Wong made a point to make sure I was numb when she moved to a new tooth. The technicians and the front desk are beyond courteous. This update is in response to the Dr.'s reply. Lady, DO NOT make me sound like some druggie. I was in GOD AWFUL pain when I came to you. The job of any doctor is to ensure the patient is not in pain and to also treat them. I did not "Dr hop" in order to get meds, I searched on Yelp and chose you based on the reviews you had that gave me the impression you actually cared about the well being of your patients. But I was misinformed. I know that my teeth are bad and cause problems but I shouldnt have to be made to suffer because of it. Secondly, I did not request pills multiple times. But you bet your behind I was persistent because I had an absess that was so huge, that the whole right side of my face was swollen up to my eye, and I was in EXCRUCIATING pain. I wanted the work you had recommended done to fix my teeth, but I did not want to have to endure physical and emotional pain while I was healing from an infection. I am offended by the fact that you would have the nerve to make it appear as though I go around from Dentist to Dentist just looking for a fix. I wanted your help. Plain and simple and you denied me that help and caused me to suffer for 5 DAYS with an absess that was literally unbearable. When you could've just shown me compassion and given me something to help with the pain. So thanks but no thanks for your fake passive aggressive apology. read more

The receptionists are really very rude and keep saying "we don't have time right now" most of the time. When I called the insurance I get to know that all my tooth sealants are 100% covered which the office said aren't and the insurance calls the office and lets them know. When I call back the Zareh office and spoke to Jessica to clarify on this, the answer I get is "we will let you know on the day of appointment, we are too busy right now." There is a good 3 weeks from today to the day of appointment but she doesn't have time to clarify this even after the insurance called and spoke to them already. And she keeps prompting me asking if I would like to cancel the appointment. I am yet to see what response they are going to give before my appointment. And will update the review. read more

I have a teeth grinding issue. I went to a dentist in RSM for a bit since it was closer to home. That dentist mentioned my teeth grinding issue and suggested I get a mouth guard, he was willing to sell it to me for $600. I came back to Dr. Zareh, she offers two types, a mouth guard they make in-house for $150 and the thicker "name brand" one would be $300. I got the cheaper one and it's held up for 8 months already. I LOVE this dental office. Plus, the teeth cleaning here is way better than the one I got in RSM. I'm always seen by the actual dentist here, versus other places with less quality. I have been going to Zareh & Zareh Dental for about 2 years now. I randomly picked this place because it was close to work and I have no regrets about my decision. They have an awesome staff! The receptionist, Peggy, is friendly and knowledgeable. I always request appointments after work so she makes an effort to get me a time slot that fits my schedule. I think Dr. Zareh works in the mornings/early afternoon so I have not seen her. Instead they have another female dentist working in the late afternoons. She is very professional and personable. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed at one time and they took very good care of me. I even recommended Zareh & Zareh Dental to my coworker who was looking to get a routine checkup. He also had a great experience with the staff so if you're looking for a good dentist, definitely go to them. read more

I've been going to Dr. Zareh for a few years now. Chose them because they are close to my work/home. I've never been so pleased with a dentist. I used to put dental off as long as I could, or until I was in pain. Now, I go on a regular basis. The office staff is great and always concerned about your comfort. They explain every step they are taking and constantly as if you are ok. Dr. Zareh is THE BEST. She is very knowledgeable and gives you options.
