The hall where the service took place was beautiful, besides sympathies, the most common thing I heard was about how great the place looked. They had a couple comfort animals running around and a staff member was always unobtrusively available. They made a wonderful slideshow out of the pictures we gave them. Digitized everything. The most touching part was a display they made, we had discussed interests, hobbies and such. They made a whole display out of the things we talked about with some pictures added on.

For a funeral home in which you would like to be taken care of at a very sad time, it is the worst experience I have ever had. They do not care about the fact you are saying goodbye to a loved one. I ordered a beautiful spray of flowers to be delivered, and when the flowers arrived, the funeral home sent the flowers back because they are not what they wanted. Even though it was the family's wishes for an full open casket, hours before the showing, they closed half of the casket and told us they would never leave it open (even though that is what we were told and planned). When confronting the problem, the owners were very disrespectful. Therefore I beg you to please avoid this place. Go someplace else and say your goodbyes and prayers at a funeral home that will take care of your wishes. This place ruined saying goodbye to a very special family member.

There is also a resident albino squirrel that we've been in search of but haven't seen ourselves. Father Baker is buried here so you can see his grave. There is also a beautiful little chapel on the property. You can access this from Ridge Rd on bike/foot/scooter or by South Park via car.

Paid over $6k for a service, even signed a contract and everything. leading up to my moms service…read morewe got no call back or anything. was told they would call us back...no call back. so we tried and tried contacting and still no CALL BACK. the day of my moms service no one was there. we ended up not burying her with her family :( BUT THE CHECK WAS CASHED. Finally we get a call back from "Mike" and he's drunk at a bar yelling at us for being upset. Not professional at all. This added so much more stress on top of our grief. We flew all the way from Florida to burry my mom here. She deserved so much better. Our whole family is disappointed.

I highly recommend the John E Roberts Funeral Home for their meticulous organization that is personal and not perfunctory. Everyone on staff was genuinely warm and understanding. From coordinating church service, military honors with flag presentation and a bronze plaque at his gravesite for Veterans to the flowers on my father's casket (gorgeous white lilies and ranunculus) it was beautiful and understated. Our family didn't feel rushed or pressured at the wake or the service and burial. The personal service set it apart from other funeral homes: I'd been to two services for my grandmother and stepfather 10 and 15 years ago and they were cold and impersonal compared to John E Roberts Funeral Home.

Mr Sweeney owned all the land in the area then, and it was a farm. Some of the older headstones are from 1840 or so, so they have been there a while. The town built up around the cemetery. By the 1860s, plots were being sold for other burials. North Tonawanda (the city) now owns the cemetery and they maintain it well. There is plenty of parking in the area, across the street and street parking both.

The workers were accommodating for anyone to speak up, come early for private viewing and plenty of water and tissues readily available for public use. The viewing room we were in was rather small but perfect for the small family crowd we had. I appreciated having a somewhat private room across the hall for those moments where you need a minute to be alone. The parking lot was small and became a bit of an issue during peak times. Also, because it's on the corner of several main roads, it's easy to pass if you aren't familiar with the area or to get lost in the tops plaza behind it.
